Lesson with Julia Thut from Switzerland on Xerex, 5 year old gelding:)

The training is based mainly on Bent Branderup's academic training principles, although much of Julias and my own training philosophies are mixed in too. Main point is to teach the horse to lift its back, strech the topline, to swing with it's back legs underneath him, be calm and content - in other words, to be a remonte before we ask for too much more. Xerex is also trained in the forest, and also in gallop although not shown at this video :)

The video is mostly uncut (not-riding scenes are not in). So it might seem long and boring, but it is to give a thourough impression of the lesson. The riding starts at about 9 minutes. At about 21 minutes you can see how big difficulties Xerex has bending to the left. A week after the video, Xerex had a chiropractor for the first time, as I thought he was more than normal stiff to the left. A few days later half of his mane had changed side to the left side, and he is now capable of bending to the left without big protests. I will try to make a new video to see if the change is visible to the onlooker too :)

Tone :)
