A healthy diet is also very essential in maintaining healthy hair. If you really love your hair and you do not wish to lose it any time soon, try practicing the following:

Take foods rich in omega 3 fatty acids. Such foods nourish follicles thereby promoting the growth of hair and preventing hair loss. This is because the nutrients contained penetrate deeply into the scalp. Moreover, they prevent dandruff and breakage .Soya beans, sardines, walnuts, salmon, and flax seeds are known sources of omega 3 fatty acids.

Eat enough protein rich foods. This is because protein is required for the formation of hair. Low levels of protein in the diet may also lead to graying of hair. To prevent baldness, eat foods like beans, milk, cheese, eggs, fish, and meat.

Include iron rich foods in your diet. The transport of oxygen in the blood is dependent on availability of oxygen. Lack of oxygen would result in low oxygen level hence poor circulation of blood. This eventually has the effect of causing hair loss. To deal with this, take meals that are rich in iron like turkery, red meat, egg yolks, chick peas, lentils, and liver.

Take considerable amounts of foods that contain vitamin A. This is because too much of vitamin may actually result in hair loss. Carrots, lettuce, sweet potatoes, and mustard greens are examples of foods that contain vitamin A.

Include enough levels of vitamin C in your diet. Vitamin C helps in the formation of collagen. Further, it promotes circulation of blood in the scalp region. For a healthy scalp, good levels of vitamin C are required. Sources of vitamin C are oranges, guavas, cabbages, and strawberries. Other foods also contain vitamin C.

To include Vitamin B6 in your diet: With the right amount of vitamin B6 consume, your hair follicles get enough oxygen to stay healthy as this nutrient plays a vital role in the production of hemoglobin (protein molecule in red blood cells) which carries oxygen to the various cells in the body. Food items which are rich in vitamin B6 such as chickpeas, bananas, green peas, pork loin, asparagus will also generally have high levels of protein.
