President Donald Trump seemingly took a jab at his former counterterrorism chief, Joe Kent, for remarrying four years after his wife died in a suicide bombing while serving with the U.S. military in Syria in 2019. Kent, a former Army and CIA officer, broke from the Trump administration in dramatic fashion last week when he expressed opposition to the president's war with Iran and resigned as director of the National Counterterrorism Center.

00:00Mr. President, do you know whether Joe
00:01Kent was leaking?
00:03Look, I'm not a fan of the guy.
00:05If you look at — and you never cover
00:06this — if you look at his truths or
00:09whatever he went on, if it's X or
00:10truth, if you look at his truths or
00:13his statements, he was all for
00:15everything.
00:16All of a sudden, he wasn't.
00:18He was a man that I met at Dover.
00:23He came and his wife was killed.
00:25He remarried fairly quickly.
00:28His wife was killed.
00:30And I felt badly for him.
00:32He ran for Congress.
00:33He lost.
00:34He ran for Congress again, and he lost.
00:37I said, you know, he's a guy, nice guy.
00:40He seemed like a very nice guy.
00:41I met him.
00:42He was pretty heartbroken.
00:45Pretty.
00:46But I said, you know, it's a shame.
00:48He ran for Congress twice.
00:50Call him up.
00:51Give him a job in the White House.
00:53Smart.
00:54They gave him a job in the White House.
00:55And this is what he does to me.
00:57You know, being a nice guy doesn't pay off too much.
01:01I'm looking for that guy in the White House.
01:02...
