Forced Disappearance of Women in Colombian Conflict

Out of 45,000 registered disappeared people in Colombia, 5000 are women. The biggest concern is the 98 % impunity that surrounds the cases, especially when these cases have often involved sexual violence. Rights activists say that sexual violence in the armed conflict and the State refuses to understand it as such. Families continue to push for answers regarding what happened to their loved ones.
