Last Fighter Standing - European Championship Tournament Announcement
New world sport calls for European Fight Promoters

Who will be Europe’s toughest contenders for the LFS crown?

The Last Fighter Standing (LFS) European Championship will see the continent’s superpowers most determined fighters duke it out for a shot at glory in the LFS European Championship.

LFS was born out of a vision to create the greatest fighting tournament the world has ever seen; a platform where fighters from all fighting disciplines get equal opportunities to earn respect and glory in the hexagon by giving their all. No cage, just a roped off hexagon ring, and in it fighters from countries across the European region will compete for the ultimate title of Last Fighter Standing. This tournament will see countries in the European region holding individual LFS championships as governed by the LFS rules. The top 16 National Champions will then fight each other to be crowned as the LFS European Champion. This is the first-of-its-kind tournament that will crown a true all-rounded champion.

Thirty European countries will participate including England, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Portugal and Spain, just to mention a few. Russia will also be included in the European Championship.

As the pressure mounts, fans will be on the edge of their seats to see if their country’s talent will move up through the ranks. The format of LFS has been specifically designed for maximum spectator entertainment and the rules have been balanced to make this new fighting discipline tough, suiting all fighting styles, raw and adrenaline-packed.

Quicker rounds ensure high-impact fights with no time to waste. Limited time on the ground means that fighters from different disciplines will have a better chance to show off their striking skills. Fighters cannot use take down techniques to take the opponent to the ground. Instead, they can make use of foot sweeps, hip throws or knock downs. This increases the level of skill needed to win the fight, thus increasing the spectator fascination and the entertainment factor.

Ultimately, one fighter in each weight division will stand victorious above all others as the first true LFS European Champion, following the work being done in Australia to implement LFS down under. The action won’t stop at one tournament. LFS will be bringing a range of contests specially designed for LFS, namely: The Tri-Nations, The Four Nations Championship, The USA Championship and the Legends of the Arena (over 50s) Championship. Already, New Zealand, Australia and Thailand have signed on with LFS and it is anticipated that many other countries will soon follow.

Another hallmark of LFS is that male and female competitors have equal opportunities and the same prize money, recognising both genders' efforts to participate and succeed under the same set of rules. With the playing field fair and attractive for everyone, female fighters will be able to bring their all to the hexagon and earn their stripes that are equal to those in men's division. “We want to attract the world’s top fighting talent,” emphasises Craig Mayman, the creator of LFS and a renowned 9th-dan martial artist. “This means sourcing competitors from countries across the world and bringing in the toughest men and women. We look forward to seeing who emerges victorious, both in the regional preliminary rounds and the main event.”

LFS creator and co-founder, Craig Mayman, has a 44 year history in martial arts and competed in a time where there were no weight divisions and limited rules. His vision for LFS is to do away with the flash and ceremony of many modern tournaments and to bring the focus back to the strength and ability of the competitors.

LFS European Championship will launch as soon as all the partners and the promoters in Europe are on board and ready to participate.
