Tuesday marks the second anniversary of the election of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, one month after the death of his predecessor Hugo Chavez. According to a special video, "Two Years On," the opposition urged people to rise up against the Maduro administration, but the move failed. The opposition turned to economic warfare, hoarding and speculation, and in February of 2014, the so-called Guarimba revolt led to the death of 43 people. As the revolution continued its course, the aggression culminated in an order by US President Barack Obama delaring Venezuela to be a threat. The decree backfired, generating indignation in Latin America and worldwide solidarity. teleSUR
