Today’s episode follows host Ayesha Gilani as she shares three stories of talented musicians who are using their immense talents to cross borders and bring people together. She begins by traveling to a recording studio to meet Iranian American female rapper, Mana, who raps and sings moving poetry in both English and Farsi. She is recording upcoming tracks and sits down with Ayesha to discuss her journey, as well as her passion for women’s empowerment which she uses to fuel her annual conference called Lipstick Revolt. Keeping with the theme, Ayesha then shares a story in which Tabinda Naeem met with Indian opera singer, Zeshan Bagewadi, who combined the Pakistani and Indian national anthems as an ode to the culture of both nations. The trip ends with a special Uss Paar series story from Pakistan, the soundtrack of which was sung by Pakistani superstar singer, Qurat ul Ain Balouch, whose powerful voice has attracted fans the world over not just for her talent, but for the musical talent of Pakistan.
