Thousands of people have been displaced by heavy rains that are affecting major regions in central Peru. A state of emergency was declared for settlements in the Amazonian region and major crop losses are predicted. In the central Peruvian rain forest, more than 2,000 families were affected and settlements were isolated due to the collapse of roads as a result of mudslides. teleSUR
