UPDATE: A passenger plane carrying 58 people plunged into a river outside Taiwan's capital Taipei on Wednesday.

The dramatic scenes were captured on a dash cam, showing the plane clipping a bridge before landing in the water.


EARLIER: A TransAsia Airways plane has crash-landed in a river in Taipei.

It's believed more than 50 people were onboard at the time, and a number of people have reportedly been injured.

Dramatic images and video has already surfaced online purporting to show the plane ditching in the river.
