Literally the Gokyo - Kala Patthar Trek has "everything" and this is not an exaggeration. The fit walker can get very close to the mighty Mount Everest on the Gokyo - Kala Patthar Trek as it takes you right into the heart of the Himalayas of Nepal. Ascending Kala Patthar for the finest views of the whole massif including Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse and Pumori. Gokyo – Kala Patthar Trek is ideal for those wishing to make the full Everest Base Camp Trek and looking to get a sneak peak of the local traditions and culture.

The Gokyo - Kala Patthar Trek offers an alternative to the traditional Everest Base Camp Trek. Climb past the Sherpa villages of Namche Bazaar and Khumjung to the Gokyo Valley and the Ngozumpa Glacier, the largest in the Nepal Himalaya. From Gokyo Ri, four 8000-metre peaks (Cho Oyu, Everest, Lhotse and Makalu) are visible at once making it one of the most picturesque sight of the whole Himalayas. Cross the Cho La Pass to arrive at Lobuche for Everest Base Camp – Kalapather.

If weather does not seem to permit or group decides not to cross Cho La Pass, than we can descend to Phortse, make a high traverse to the village of Pangboche and climb on towards Everest Base Camp and Kala Patther. This is just a second option presented as weather is never predictable and your satisfaction is our only goal.

The return route leads through Dingboche and the monastery of Tengpoche before descending through the Khumbu Valley to Lukla.
