The French government has announced that its final decision on delivering Mistral-class helicopter carriers to Russia will depend on the situation in Ukraine. But France is under a lot of pressure from Moscow to follow through on the handover.
In an interview with FRANCE 24, the new Ukrainian ambassador to France, Oleh Shamshur, voices his concern about the Mistral deal. "It's a decision that should be made by France", he says. But, he adds, "the delivery of even one of the Mistral ships would enhance considerably the aggressive capacity of Moscow".
He also speaks about his hopes for the future of Ukraine and its new government, and defends the government's creation of a new Information Ministry.
