Thousands were victimized in Mexico's Dirty War
  • 9 years ago
In Mexico, today began with a group of social organizations demanding justice for Ayotzinapa and planning the next steps in the protest movement. For the father of one of the 43 missing teaching college students, the national and international solidarity shown to the missing youth and their families is what helps him to go on. This solidarity has extended to those who lost loved ones in Mexico's dirty war in the 1970s, through the recent drug wars, and now Ayotzinapa. Tens of thousands of people have disappeared since the 1970s, and the families of Ayotzinpa's 43 can find many others who share their pain in Mexico. The national movement that has rooted itself in the Ayotzinapa case has only just begun to grow. Clayton Conn reports from Mexico. teleSUR
