This week’s show is about Kennedy’s Center's role in promoting ethnic and folk music from various parts of the world. A collaborative program called Center Stage, between the U.S. State Department's Bureau of Education and Cultural Affairs and the New England Foundation for the Arts, brought a Pakistani band from Khyber Pukhtoonkhwa called Khumariyaan to perform at the Center. Sarah meets up with the band members before the show and talks to them about the program. Similarly, Shonali talks to a member of Ribab Fusion, a band from Morocco, and finds out about their experience performing in the US for the first time.
