The much-anticipated sequel ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2’ is about to hit screens worldwide and Sony Pictures has been pulling all the promotional stops.
The film sees the return of Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker and Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy.
As one of the Marvel Comics superheros, Spider-Man is well-known in China. The cast went to Beijing to promote their film, where film director Marc Webb said 3D technology adds a whole new dimension to his movie.
“3D is a new kind of language that is there to put the audience in Spider-Man’s shoes – or in his suit – and feel what it’s like to fly through the air, and 3D is an extraordinary tool to make that idea come true,” said Webb.
Thirty-year-old Andrew Garfield talked about his character, Peter Parker, aka Spider-Man.
“The ultimate challenge of keeping his relationship together and keeping his love safe in the face of his very extreme job is a hugely dramatic moment for Peter, and that where we’re finding him here,” said Garfield.
Jamie Foxx plays the villain, Electro.
“My five-year-old daughter, I told her, ‘You know, I am going to be in Spider-Man’. And she’s like, ‘What? Would you be doing…?’ I said no, I was playing the villain. She said, ‘Oh, so Spider-Man’s going to kick your butt, huh?’ I was like, ‘Yeah’,” he said.
With its A-list cast, impressive 3D and a score overseen by Oscar-winning composer Hans Zimmer, this new Spiderman movie looks promising according to critics.
‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2’ is on worldwide release from April.
