The 2004 incarnation of the BCS title game featured the #1 Oklahoma Sooners (12-1) facing off against the #2 LSU Tigers (12-1). This was the first time since the national championship game's inception in 1992 where both teams came into the game with at least one loss. RB Justin Vincent, LSU, was the MVP.
