00:00Dear viewers, welcome to Truth and Trends. Today we launch a fun new series,
00:13Mind Twists, everyday confusions that drive us crazy but also make us laugh.
00:18Oh, this is going to be interesting because I've embarrassed myself in such moments more than once.
00:24Let's begin with the classic left or right confusion. Deepak, ever faced it?
00:30Countless times. Once in an exam hall, teacher asked to raise right hand. I confidently raised left. Whole class laughed.
00:38Happens often. When I take a taxi, when the road turns, I tell the driver to turn left and point my hand to the right.
00:47Psychologists say it's because our brain's motor coordination and quick decision clash when we're under pressure.
00:53So not stupidity, just brain wiring?
00:57Exactly, you can reduce it by pausing half a second before acting.
01:01Next, forgetfulness after leaving home. Like, did I switch off the geyser, the stove, the fan?
01:07Oh, story of my life. I've gone back from the bus stop just to check. Once I even called neighbor to confirm.
01:14This happens because when tasks are routine, the brain does them on autopilot, without strong memory trace. That's why we doubt later.
01:23So our brain was present, but not recording properly?
01:26Exactly. Trick is, say it aloud by switching off. Like fan off, that creates memory.
01:33Now the funniest, push or pull doors.
01:35Ah, once I pushed a pull door at a mall so hard, the security guy thought I was angry.
01:41For this reason, my boss often scolds me. He asks, don't you see the word, pull, written in big letters? Why are you pushing the door and breaking it? Reason?
01:53Our brain guesses based on door handle design, not the word written. Big handle equals pull. Flat plate equals push.
02:02So blame the designer, not me.
02:04These confusions are called cognitive slips. They happen when our attention is divided or habits take over.
02:11Makes sense. We're not broken, just overloaded sometimes.
02:15Tips to overcome? Slow down, double check and use reminders.
02:19And don't panic. It's part of being human.
02:22So friends, today we saw left-right confusion, forgetfulness doubts and push-pull drama.
02:28If you face these, tell us your funniest experience in comments.
