00:07role but the doctor's latest reincarnation doesn't seem to meet with

00:10the complete approval of his young companion Perry

00:13well Nicola you look as they've got a real handful on your hands don't you

00:19with the new doctor who yes absolutely I the new doctor is a complete and utter

00:24shock I think to Perry and I think if she'd met Colin so to speak first she

00:29would have not bothered to go off in the TARDIS at all turn down the job yeah

00:34let's recap shall we for the benefit of our viewers who perhaps haven't caught up

00:38with it all the old doctor who is dead isn't he I must correct you first of all

00:42the old doctor old doctor he's not called doctor who no it's doctor who ah that's

00:49on his name there you see you've learned something now haven't you absolutely but

00:52I can't understand why they brought you back looking like that would you suggest

00:56it's an alternative well someone suave and and charismatic and I mean I can't

01:02even look at you this morning so blindingly bright for those without color

01:06televisions what is it orange and yellow and stripes and spots I think even

01:10people without color televisions can see these colors I know Nicola knew she was

01:17going to be involved in the doctor who series well when you were a little girl

01:20didn't you you in America used to think I'm going to play the part

01:27well yes I used to watch it and think that would be a wonderful job you know it

01:31was just one of those things it the whole thing is is it's amazing that this time

01:35last year I was in drama school plodding through the plays and and now I've just

01:38completed a season and it's it's it is quite stunning really but it completely

01:43takes over your life doesn't it I don't have it afraid

01:47that you're going to be absolutely wrapped up in it for years to come and

01:51not be able to get out of it I don't think I'm gonna be wrapped up for years to

01:55come don't you um no I right now there's so much for me to learn that I feel it's

02:01it's a great experience it's a great vehicle for me what about you Colin what do

02:05you feel about the laptop for years to come at the moment I'm enjoying it so much

02:09that I I'm not even bothering to think about that because if you can't enjoy a

02:13job while you're doing it because you're worrying what's going to happen

02:15afterwards then it's you sort of grind to hold how do you how do you view the

02:21fact that you following a very popular doctor and that he's now gone and you're

02:26having to take over from him I don't actually think that there's much point in

02:31worrying about that each one has followed somebody good before them I mean all all

02:36my predecessors have put their own seemingly indelible stamp on the part I

02:42just hope that mine follows on the tradition you actually suit the part you

02:47know that I'm listening to you now you're very sanguine and relaxed and happy and

02:51optimistic about the whole thing you suit the clothes you're wearing actually oh

02:54now after what you said a little earlier about you're hoping to see someone

02:56suave and sophisticated I think I should be offended but I don't be offended by that

03:00at all because I think the opposite
