00:00In a time when gatherings were filled with questions
00:04Minds were abuzz with debate
00:07The Commander of the Faithful, Ali ibn Abi Talib, sat on it
00:13Say "Peace be upon you" in the Kufa Mosque
00:16Not as an autocratic ruler
00:18But as a teacher, he knows that the most dangerous thing facing man
00:23Not the sword, but the suspicion.
00:26People were gathering around him
00:29Muslims or non-Muslims
00:32Because they found an answer with him
00:34It does not stop at the limits of words.
00:37Rather, it penetrates to the core of the idea.
00:40In that council
00:42A Jewish man, famous among his people for his debating skills, stepped forward
00:46He had heard a lot about Ali's knowledge
00:50But he did not come to ask for guidance.
00:54Rather, to create a dilemma
00:57He stood confidently and said
00:59O Ali, you say that your Lord knows everything
01:04Nothing is hidden from Him, neither on earth nor in heaven.
01:09So tell me, what is something that God does not know?
01:13The question was carefully calculated.
01:16Because it is based on a logical trap
01:20If Ali said that God knows everything without exception
01:25The Jew said
01:27So does he know something he doesn't know?
01:30And if he makes an exception, he says
01:33Therefore, his knowledge is incomplete.
01:36Some of those present remained silent.
01:38Others exchanged glances
01:41Because they realized the seriousness of the question
01:45No, in his words
01:47Rather, in its structure
01:49As for Imam Ali, peace be upon him
01:51His face didn't change.
01:54He showed no signs of surprise or hesitation.
01:57It was as if the question was nothing new to him.
02:01It is as if he heard it before he created its owner.
02:05He raised his head and said calmly, before the storm
02:10God does not know that He has a partner.
02:13The words fell like a thunderbolt.
02:16Because the answer did not come from inside the trap
02:19Rather, he destroyed it completely.
02:22Silence prevailed
02:23But the imam did not stop
02:26Rather, he went further to close every door that might open after it.
02:32He does not know that he has a son.
02:35He does not know that he is being unjust
02:37Ignorance knows nothing
02:40Because these things are not information
02:43Rather, they are deficient qualities.
02:45God can only be described as perfect.
02:49Then he looked at the Jew and said
02:52Tell me to ask about the wise man
02:55Does he know he's crazy or about the strong?
02:59Does he know that he is helpless?
03:01He is only asking about knowledge of what can possibly exist.
03:05Not something that is impossible in itself
03:07The features of the Jew began to change
03:11He realized that the Imam had not given him a linguistic answer.
03:17Rather, he dismantled the question itself.
03:20Imam Ali, peace be upon him, continued, saying
03:23God's knowledge is subject to His own will.
03:26And his self is perfect
03:28His knowledge is not related to anything that contradicts His perfection.
03:32The partner is lacking
03:34And the boy is a need
03:35Ignorance is a lack
03:36Injustice is helplessness
03:39All of that is impossible for God.
03:41The impossible is nothing
03:44So that he may know
03:45Then he said a deeper word
03:47It is as if it is addressed to everyone who hears it until the Day of Judgment.
03:54Whoever thinks that divine knowledge is similar to the knowledge of created beings
03:59He was ignorant
04:01Because the creature learns after ignorance
04:05As for God, His knowledge itself is not preceded by non-existence.
04:09Here the Jew tried to regain control of the discussion.
04:13So you are saying that there are things that God does not know.
04:19Imam Ali, peace be upon him, smiled.
04:23The smile of someone who knows their opponent has fallen into the same trap.
04:28He said again
04:30Rather, I say that what you are asking about is nothing
04:35If it were something, it would be a deficiency.
04:38And imperfection does not enter the realm of divinity.
04:42He then added: Things are known by their opposites.
04:46God has no opponent.
04:48It cannot be compared to anything else.
04:50He is not questioned in the same way as He is questioned about His creation.
04:54At that point, the council was no longer a debate council.
05:00Rather, a study council on pure monotheism.
05:03Those present felt that the question they thought was impossible to answer
05:09The heart is the key to understanding the meaning of knowing everything.
05:14This does not mean that God knows the impossible.
05:18In fact, the impossible is not a thing at all.
05:22The Jew lowered his head
05:25Then he said in a low voice
05:27If our scholars were to gather
05:29They did not come up with this answer
05:32Then he said in front of the people
05:34I bear witness that this knowledge is only possessed by the successor of a prophet.
05:38Thus, in just a few words
05:42Imam Ali (peace be upon him) demolished
05:45philosophical suspicion
05:47Used throughout the ages
05:50To challenge monotheism
05:52He pointed out that the most dangerous questions
05:55She is the one who seems smart
05:57But it is based on a perception
06:00wrong
06:01He did not raise his voice
06:03It did not need to be lengthy
06:06Because when the truth is taken out of its proper place
06:09It doesn't need decorations
06:12This was not the situation
06:14Science review
06:16Rather, it was a silent warning.
06:18God is not known through fallacies.
06:21He is not questioned in a way that would lower him from his position.
06:25And that the greatest worship
06:27It is to absolve Him from what is not befitting of Him.
