00:00No, I want you to find just one verse in the Holy Quran that says Pharaoh drowned in the sea. You won't find one because it's very perplexing and strange that when the verses of the Holy Quran talk about Pharaoh's drowning, they don't say he drowned in the sea.
00:15What she said was, "So We drowned them in the sea" (Surah Al-A'raf, verse 136). Then Pharaoh pursued them with his soldiers, and the sea overwhelmed them.
00:24Surah Ta-Ha, verse 78: So We seized him and his soldiers and threw them into the sea.
00:30Verse 40 of Surah Al-Qasas and Adh-Dhariyat. The entire Quran is like this: when it speaks about Moses and the Children of Israel, it says, "And We brought the Children of Israel across the sea," even though they were in the sea. But when it speaks about Pharaoh, it says, "So We drowned them in the sea."
00:43No, and what's strange is that the sea and the ocean come in the context of the same verses, that is, in Surah Taha, verse number 77.
00:49And We inspired Moses, "Take My servants by night and strike for them a path through the sea."
00:54In the sea, dry land, they feared neither drowning nor dread. So Pharaoh pursued them with his soldiers, and the sea overwhelmed them with what overwhelmed them.
01:03God, is that how Pharaoh drowned? In the sea or in the river?
01:06So let's learn the difference between the sea and the shore.
01:09Here you will find a lot of talk about the difference between the sea and the shore.
01:13The one who tells you that the sea is the Nile River, when God told Moses' mother to cast him into the sea
01:17So where will you go from the verse, "So We drowned them in the sea"?
01:20Let's now find out the correct explanation of the difference between the sea and the ocean.
01:23Look, sir, the name of the sea in Arabic is a general term used to refer to a large body of water, whether that water is salty or fresh.
01:32This sea name is also used to refer to the Nile River when it comes during the flood season and is very wide.
01:38The Nile River was called the sea until tomorrow, and now in Sudan they call the White Nile branch the White Sea.
01:44Because its width is very wide and its shore or coast is not visible.
01:48Okay, Dad, so we've agreed that the name "sea" is a general term used to refer to a large body of water.
01:53But the Arabs used to divide the sea itself; they would name each part of it according to its specific name.
02:00For example, they might say "the depths of the sea," and in the Holy Quran, it says, "darkness in a deep sea."
02:06The meaning of "the depths of the sea" is the middle of the sea, the depths of the sea, the darkness of the sea, something like that in the middle of the sea.
02:13Look at him, lying there in the middle of the sea, in the darkness of the great sea, its depth and vastness.
02:18This is the meaning of the sea's depths
02:20They say to them, "The ship sails in the open sea."
02:24The width of the sea, i.e., the ship's course
02:26They call the place or route of the ship the open sea.
02:29They also say on the seashore, the sea's edge or the coast
02:33Let him cast him down to the shore.
02:35The word "coast" means seashore or sea coast
02:38Among these names comes the word "al-Yam" (the sea).
02:41The Arabs used the word "al-Yam" to mean the water near the coast.
02:46Which is between the middle of the sea and the coast
02:48The water is close to the shore
02:50So what's the evidence for this?
02:51Let us reflect on the Holy Quran and on the Prophet's (peace and blessings be upon him) hadith about the sea
02:56You'll find something truly amazing
02:58You will find it in Surah Taha, verse 39
03:00I cast him into the coffin, then cast him into the river, and let the river cast him onto the shore.
03:05Moses' mother will put him in the coffin and throw him into the Nile.
03:10But where will she throw it? Near the beach?
03:13Let the sea cast it into the part that is close to the coast.
03:16Or near the shore, let the sea cast it ashore.
03:19So the interpretation of the word "al-Yam" here is the water near the coast and the shore.
03:23You will also find it in Surah Al-Qasas
03:24She told his sister, "Qusayah."
03:26When you look at Al-Tabari's interpretation
03:28What does he say to you? And she told his sister, "Tell me about it."
03:30That is, after she placed him in the coffin, she told his sister that she was following the coffin's trail.
03:35It means it's close to the coast, like the one in the 100-meter area.
03:38Close to the beach and tracking
03:40The effect until you see it
03:41This will lead to what we hoped for.
03:43The word "al-Yam" in Surah Al-Qasas and Surah Taha
03:46We found that the word "yaam" is meant
03:47Water near the coast or beach
03:50The second thing is very beautiful and I want you
03:52I am considering the two hadiths with me in Sahih
03:54Imam Muslim, Hadith 1, our master
03:56The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, is talking about
03:57The story of Moses and Al-Khidr
03:59In the text of a hadith narrated by Muslim, the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him
04:02He tells me, "Then a bird came."
04:04He landed on the edge of the ship and tapped
04:06At sea, Al-Khidr said to Moses
04:08What is my knowledge and your knowledge?
04:10God is only as much as He has deficient.
04:12This bird is from the sea
04:14So let the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, say here that the sparrow
04:16Tap in the sea
04:18Come and see the second hadith, it's very strange.
04:19This is also authentic, as Muslim says, the Prophet
04:22Peace and blessings be upon him
04:23What is this world compared to the Hereafter?
04:26Just as one of you makes
04:27Let him look into the sea with his finger
04:30What comes back when you reflect
04:32In this hadith of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, you will find that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, named the water near the shore.
04:35Because when someone sits close to the shore, they dip their finger in the water, so the Prophet called this water "the sea" because it is close to the shore.
04:42As for the story of Al-Khidr and Moses, the bird came while the ship was in the middle of the sea, not near the shore.
04:51So look at the precision of word choice in the hadith of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him.
04:54So let's get back to the main topic: did Pharaoh drown in the sea or the river?
04:58Now let's get to the story: when Moses, peace be upon him, led the Children of Israel, they reached the sea.
05:04When the two armies saw them, the companions of Moses said, “We are surely overtaken!” The sea was before them, and Pharaoh was behind them.
05:11He said, "No, indeed, my Lord is with me, watching over me."
05:13So our Lord, the Most High, revealed to Moses, "Strike the sea with your staff."
05:17You'll ask him, "So, did Moses strike the whole sea, or just the part near the shore?" and then add, "He struck the sea."
05:22The idea is that our master Moses, peace be upon him, is our Lord, as he said, "He struck the sea."
05:25Generally speaking, the Quran focuses on the place where it strikes; it strikes anywhere, it doesn't matter.
05:30The idea is simply that he struck the staff; this is the miracle, and it split open, becoming completely divided like a great basin.
05:37The sea became a dry path, and Moses, peace be upon him, and the Children of Israel walked along it.
05:42Until the last one of the followers of our master Moses, peace be upon him, left
05:46And so Moses decided that he would strike the sea again.
05:49Our Lord said it, and leave the sea at a distance.
05:52It means that Moses wanted to strike the sea so that the sea would return.
05:54So our Lord said, "Leave the sea calm," meaning leave it still, because they were already close to them.
05:59Our Lord said, "O Pharaoh, pursue them with your soldiers, and the sea overwhelmed them with what overwhelmed them."
06:05Our Lord used the word "al-Yam" (the sea) and did not use the word "al-Bahr" (the ocean).
06:08To show you that Pharaoh did not drown in the sea because they crossed where
06:11Count the Gulf of Suez; the width of this sea or gulf can reach twenty kilometers.
06:17They didn't drown in the sea, meaning they didn't drown in a faraway place.
06:20No, it's not very close to the coast, even God said in Surah Al-Baqarah: "And when We parted the sea for you and saved you
06:25"And we drowned," Pharaoh said, "while you were watching, drowning right in front of you."
06:29And you will find in the interpretation of "So there covered them from the sea that which covered them"
06:32In Al-Baghawi's interpretation, you will find the phrase "and covered them," meaning the water covered them.
06:36So they were overwhelmed by the sea, meaning they drowned in the water near the shore.
06:41So what's the difference? I mean, I want to know the difference between the sea and the ocean and all that.
06:45Why this distinction? Didn't God simply say he drowned in the sea, that's all?
06:48The point here is that God Almighty chose the word "al-Yam" (the sea).
06:52To determine the location where they drowned, they drowned near the shore.
06:56So what's the lesson? The lesson is two stories.
06:58The first reason is that when they drowned near the shore, it was to serve as a lesson for the Children of Israel.
07:04They see him drowning right in front of them
07:05Therefore, the Quran specified the place where Pharaoh drowned; he drowned in the sea.
07:09In this part, the right is the sea.
07:11Because this is not part of the sea
07:13But the Quran specifies the location as a drowning in water close to the coast.
07:17Close to the beach
07:18This is the first thing
07:19"So we drowned," Pharaoh said, "while you watched, so you could see that he wouldn't drown."
07:21The second need, and the commentators said it
07:24So that it would be to spite Pharaoh
07:27Pharaoh is with the Nagabaroto
07:28And all this talk doesn't need to be drowned in the sea anymore.
07:31You'll say that the sea has become difficult.
07:33He can't swim or anything like that
07:35He drowned in the sea
07:35No, God wants to tell you that Pharaoh was a tyrant.
07:38He drowned in a little bit of water on the coast.
07:41The right, the western part of the coast
07:43Okay, he's almost out
07:44So God drowned him in the sea.
07:46So they were overwhelmed by the sea, as they were overwhelmed.
07:48They just gave you a hundred, that covered them.
07:50So God Almighty drowned him
07:52Humiliating him in the sea
07:54He did not drown in the darkness of the sea
07:56Or for example, it remains in the waves of the sea.
07:59And God knows best.
08:00And this of course means that I am really, really tired.
08:02So that one can read about this topic
