00:00For two years, Charlotte Sangster has battled the symptoms of long COVID.
00:06Honestly, I've never been the same since.
00:09I gradually got more and more unwell as 2024 went on.
00:14And then by the time we reached early 2025,
00:17I was at the stage where I was no longer even able to work full time.
00:20It wasn't until she saw specialists at the long COVID clinic
00:24at St Vincent's Hospital in Sydney's inner east that things turned around.
00:28It's been a game changer for me. You really do feel supported.
00:32Now the clinic will close by the end of the month.
00:35I was devastated. Like, my eyes just welled up with tears
00:39and I literally said, what am I supposed to do now?
00:42St Vincent's Hospital says the clinic was underutilised
00:45and patients will get better care elsewhere.
00:48They have the ability to manage a lot of this
00:50and that's actually the best way to manage it.
00:53So some of it is just being efficient,
00:55but some of it is just we've learnt better how to manage this.
00:58But Charlotte says she's not convinced.
01:01Well, my experience has been that GPs don't fully understand this condition.
01:07Specialists don't fully understand this condition
01:10and unless they're actually working together
01:12and taking that approach as a team,
01:15then you're going to get bounced around.
01:18Battling against a disease and a system.
