00:04We have the need for speed here at Surfer's Paradise where the Pacific Air Show is roaring
00:10into action. Massive crowds are hitting the shores this weekend to watch heart pumping
00:16displays in the air from some of the world's best aviators. Now last year's event was cancelled
00:25due to beach erosion from ex-tropical cyclone Alfred but after a $37 million recovery effort
00:32it has landed back on our shores this year and organisers say it's going to be bigger than ever
00:39more than six hours of action in the sky two more hours than in previous years each day and we

00:47expecting that in addition to high octane action in the skies we will be seeing displays as well
00:53of historic aircraft plus we have been promised a taste of the future for the first time ever the
01:00Pacific Air Show will be having a jet pack displays here at the event so we will see human flight

01:06for the first time. We chatted to people on the ground about what they're most excited about this
01:11year here's what they had to say. Probably the bell bowing ospreys definitely yeah. What do you love
01:18about those? Well they're quite different planes well helicopters because like they'll be flying and
01:24then like they take off like a helicopter but then mid-flight they'll transition their rotors
01:29to straight on which makes them fly like planes. The atmosphere and the fact that you know the beach
01:34the fact that it's here it's it's what it's what the Gold Coast is built for like look it's spectacular.
01:40This is the first air show I've ever been to so I'm very excited um to see the planes rolling
01:46around in my in my backyard. Now this event is expected to inject about 40 million dollars into
01:51the local economy and organizers say they expect about a quarter of a million people will flock
01:57to surface paradise over the next three days.
