Chelsea Bridge - Carling Family 1990

Duke Ellington's musical partner, Billy Strayhorn, wrote this tune in 1941. I think Tenor saxophonist Ben Webster was the featured star at that time.
I think it was in the sixties when Ben Webster recorded this tune again with Hank Jones piano, George Duvivier bass and Jo Jones on drums
In a concert in 1990 in Darlington England the Swedish Carling Family from Gotheburg Sweden perform this tune here again
21 your old Max Carling handles the tenor saxophone well, backed up by sisters Gerd (19) and Gunhild(16) both harmonizing nicely on trombone. After Hans’ pianosolo Gunhild switches to trumpet and Gerd picks up the altosax and close the tune’s final chorus in a stunning way.
