Jazz Me blues - Hans Carling’s New Cooling’s Jazzmen 1984
Hans Carling’s New Cooling’s Jazzmen from Sweden perform Jazz me blues during a jazz festival in Poland in 1984. Members of Hans’ band are Frans Sjostrom bass sax, Dymitr Markiewicz trombone and in the rhythm group Bob Stalin piano, Rolf Karve banjo, Dick Heikenskjold on bass and Bobbi Sakowicz on drums. Hans’ son Max, just 15, plays the clarinet.
He’s got the harmonies down pat and also plays a hot solo. The band manages to create that Bixian feeling better than most bands who specialize in that idiom. Thorough listening, musicality and the wish together to conquer that style makes this band outstanding.
