Animals have a crazy ability to get into things they probably shouldn’t. Recently, a female elk in Jefferson County was spotted with a tire around her neck.

A citizen was able to take photos of the creature, but according to a spokesperson for Colorado Parks and Wildlife, authorities have known about the animal’s predicament since early April and they have opted to leave her as is.

The elk is believed to be pregnant so it can be harmful if animal workers have to use tranquilizers to get the spare tire off. Also, if the elk bends her head far enough down, the tire may easily slip right off, not requiring any human interaction.

Last year, a mischievous deer in Long Island wasn’t so lucky, requiring help from people. The baby deer had fallen 20 feet into a manhole.

Landscapers working on an empty lot, discovered the scared animal and called police. An emergency worker went down, wearing a harness and hoisted the deer back up using separate safety gear. Once freed, the animal was released back into the woods.
