Ms. Roshaneh Zafar is the Founder and Managing Director of Kashf Foundation, Chair Kashf Holdings and Founder Kashf Microfinance Bank Limited based in Pakistan.
Ms. Zafar founded the Kashf Foundation – the first specialized microfinance organization in Pakistan – in 1996 after a chance meeting with Professor Muhammad Yunus of the Grameen Bank. Today, Kashf Foundation is the largest private microfinance institution in Pakistan.
Ms. Zafar is also the founding member of the Pakistan Microfinance Network (PMN). Ms. Zafar is a graduate of the Wharton Business School University of Pennsylvania in Finance and Economics and also holds a Masters degree in International and Development Economics from Yale University.
This interview was organized by the Pakistan Microfinance Network in which Ms. Zafar and Ms. Zainab Saeed (Manager Internal & External Affairs - Kashf Foundation) briefed about the milestones that Kashf foundation has achieved and how Kashf has encouraged women entrepreneurship.
