Peru's president is over seeing an attempt to rescue nine trapped miners who have spent the last six days underground.

The men became stuck about 200 meters down the Cabeza de Negro mine when it partially collapsed on Thursday.

All nine are uninjured and are being given oxygen and drinks through a tube.
