Our righteousness cannot buy us a right standing before God when it was our righteousness in Adam whereby we fell from God's righteousness in the first place.The bad news is that we can't buy heaven for us with our good deeds.The good news is that God already bought heaven for everyone,but one can only receive this totally free gift (with absolutely no strings attached) through trusting in Christ's death on the cross alone in full payment for all our past,present and future sins.
