The village of Bad Zwischenahn in Lower Saxony is home to Europe?s largest tree nursery. Jan-Dieter Bruns heads the family firm, which was founded 136 years ago. The company specializes in the sale of premium trees. The premium trees are carefully tended for up to 50 years before they go on sale - and then they net up to 30,000 euros. The valuable tree stock is tended by 300 employees. The company exports to countries around the globe and has an annual turnover of approximately 50 million euros.
