The Iranian men's national football team wore black armbands and held schoolbags at the start of their friendly match against Nigeria in Turkiye on March 27 as a protest over the killing of schoolgirls in an elementary school in Iran's Minab city on the first day of the Iran war on Feb 28.

The United States and Israel are also under mounting pressure from the international community including the United Nations, China and other countries to answer claims that they struck the school amid their military campaign against Iran.
