Zakk Wylde always dedicates this to his good friend, Dimebag Darrell Abbott. A deranged fan named Nathan Gale jumped on stage and shot Dimebag while he was performing with his band Damage Plan (also playing at "Pantera"). Gale killed 3 more people before he was killed by a police officer. Zakk Wylde wrote this a few months before Dimebag Darell's death.
