I grew up in Belgium and in Antwerp and I always was surrounded by flowers. My mom used to go to the farmers market 3 times a week when I grew up and once a week she would bring home flowers and as a kid I used to help her put flower in the vases. And flowers really fascinated me and I always had it in the back of my mind that someday I would want to have a business.
In 1996 the lab that I was working at was going to close and there was really that impetus for me to get going on my business and I get my business license and my agriculture license and got going. And worked part time at the lab for a year and a half and then pretty much kind of took off. And I worked in the basement for about 5 years. My husband had remodeled part of the basement. And then we hired a fabulous architect and he referred us to a builder. And a few months later I have this fabulous space.
I love flowers. My biggest inspiration really is Mother Nature.
