Met opens doors to conceptual artist John Baldessari

Conceptualist artist John Baldessari opened a major retrospective exhibition today at New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art called 'Pure Beauty.' The exhibit features new works such as 'Brain Cloud'--a gigantic painting hung in the museum's foyer--and many other famous pieces from his fifty year career. Baldessari has used text and graphic symbols in his paintings, photographs and films to thumb his nose at convention and play up the humour that can be found in the mundane. The exhibit opens to the general public on Wednesday.Duration: 00:53
