Halfway across the country, in Butte Montana, the Cascadia Freedom Caravan stops in Butte to see one of the largest superfund sites in the United States. Historically the Butte mines provided much of the countries copper for industialization. When the Anaconda mining company's profit margins began to fall, they resorted to stip mining, destroying the land and livlihoods of the local population.
