To effectively implement a system of any kind, changes need to be defined and documented in order to be communicated and understood by the people affected. An ISO 9001 system is no different. When deciding on a document approach you must determine who will be responsible for documenting activities and changes, initially and long-term, to create: 1) ISO/process buy-in 2) process ownership 3) effectively shoulder the burden of ISO/process maintenance 4) protect the integrity of ISO registration/conformance to the system
