The Indian Air Force has handed over 39.5 acres of prime land near the Prime Minister's residence at Lok Kalyan Marg to the central government. The handover of the Air Force Sports Complex to the Land and Development Office is part of a wider land reclamation drive, which earlier included taking back the Delhi Race Club premises and the Jaipur Polo Ground. The site is situated alongside the decades-old Air Force Station that houses administrative operations, personnel accommodation, training facilities, and integrated air defence systems for Delhi and VIP security. The action has raised questions over the future of the defence establishment.
