00:00Formula One is closing the season, one more race left in the calendar, but there is a champion,
00:07the youngest champion in history, my friend, that's right, Antonelli, 20-year-old, winning
00:13the driving championship, and now he's eligible to wear number one after wearing number 12
00:19this season. Consistent, no big results with this kid, consistent podiums, race after race
00:26after race, like they say, la tortuga se comió la liebre.
00:30Sloan Steady, Sloan Steady, even though nobody's going slow in Formula One, but Sloan Steady
00:35wins the race, and I think Antonelli did that, you know, like this past weekend in Mexico
00:39City, but by the way, props to the Mexican fans, they spent a lot of money to go, I've
00:44never been there, but every year, Formula One is a huge success for Mexico, I mean, sadly,
00:51Checo, where is that, is he there yet? Has he gotten to the front?
00:55We have one, we have one more contract on Checo, he just signed an extension, two more
01:00years, trying to see if he can get some victories, I don't think he's going to have a chance to
01:05get a driver's championship, but Checo is a legend of the sport.
01:09So let me, I'm trying to follow along with the F1, I was never a big racing fan, because
01:14for me it was like, but I watched the Netflix show Formula One, Drive to Survive, I started
01:20getting into it, I think just like MMA and boxing, when you find out the individual
01:25individuals in the individual sport, you have an emotional investment, so, you know,
01:28Lewis Hamilton, who's, I believe he was in second place in the Mexican Grand Prix, but
01:31I don't know where he is on the standings, you know, he-
01:34He is in a very tight race for second place right now, and funny that you mention it, they
01:39right now have a problem within the team, because two drivers from the same team, fighting for
01:43second place, and Max Bezparte-
01:55the same, precious points for the team at large.
02:25And we had it, we had it with Max Bezparte-
02:27Again!
02:28And Checo Perez, they were fighting neck and neck, four points individually, and that's
02:33why in certain teams, their rules preventing the second place from disputing first place
02:40is within the same team.
02:41You know, it's like Teledega Nights.
02:43Have you seen Teledega Nights?
02:44Just, that's, it's, that's a movie, right?
02:47And you think about it, you're like, oh, it's not real.
02:49Yeah, if you're in that first, you're our last, as Bobby, uh, oh my-
02:52But that, but hold on, so, but in the F1 standings, so, what, the top three, it's not
02:57like medals, right?
02:58It's not like gold, silver, and bronze, but they do get to place on the podium if you're
03:02the top three.
03:03Is that what they mean by-
03:04Every race.
03:04Every race.
03:05Every race.
03:07Like, within the race, one, two, or three, you get your cup, you get champagne, you get
03:11to celebrate, you get to have a big old party.
03:14That's every single race.
03:16Every single.
03:16But at the end of the year, at the end of the season, points take you there.
03:21That's what, like Marcelino was saying, Antonelli, he hasn't made the podium every single time,
03:26but he ends up on the top, like one, two, three, four, five, and if you are, if you ask
03:33me, I want to be first, right?
03:36But in this case, if you are consistently, let's say number four, number four, number
03:41four, number three, Verstappen, you know, I don't know where he's at with points.
03:45This last week, he won, so he's number one for that race, but in the other races, if he
03:50ends up in number 10, number eight, number seven, he doesn't get enough points.
03:54So he doesn't have enough points to be the champion of that season, like Antonelli did.
03:59One quick more note, just for somebody who's learning about the sport.
04:02So, obviously, there's a lot of, you know, major car brands, Mercedes, Ferrari, you know,
04:08the ones that you would expect.
04:09Cadillac, uh-huh.
04:10Cadillac is now, they entered it, I believe, last year, so it's an American company.
04:15Yeah.
04:15By the way, the Cadillac back ring is amazing.
04:17But Red Bull, how does the Red Bull team, which is number one, Verstappen, what is their
04:22car?
04:22I think that they have a, they have, I believe they have a Ford engine, but they used to work
04:26with Honda.
04:27How does that work with Red Bull?
04:28So, Red Bull has had a long history in Formula One of buying into teams that were already
04:33there in distress.
04:34Ah, okay.
04:34So, they used to have another team called Toro Rosa.
04:37That was where Checo Perez actually got their first start.
04:42And then, eventually, they got enough money to just buy the whole team outright and name
04:48it Red Bull Racing.
04:50Mercedes first place, Ferrari second place, Red Bull Racing on third, and McLaren on fourth.
04:56They have one more prize left in the season to see who's the champion.
05:01And we were saying Ferrari had that problem with Leclerc and Lewis fighting for points, both
05:08of them crashing and eliminating any points from the competition for Ferrari, setting this
05:15last race, last race for exciting.
