00:00Having missed out on European football completely last season for the first time in a decade
00:05these are the sort of nights that they've missed here in Saxony so Christopher Nkunku is left on
00:11the bench Antonio Nuso the player in form just now 12 goal involvement more than any other
00:17Josco Guardiola spent a couple of seasons here as a player he is left
00:23referee unhappy with a couple of bits I think he's now content and away we go in Manchester City
00:27in black and yellow predominantly get us underway
00:36yes neatly worked back to Scherke Manchester City's first effort from Ryan Scherke
00:43yeah it was a lovely bit of football that just beginning to warm up here City
00:58Baku so they committed bodies forward here this is Noosa and Donnarumma
01:06so this one I mean he's caught it so well Noosa but you'd have expected Donnarumma to have
01:12plucked this out the sky pretty easily just didn't get the hands in position correctly
01:21but that should lift Leipzig it's been a slow start from the home team i think they needed something
01:27like that to inject a little bit of belief
01:32Noosa
01:39Baumgartner Baumgartner sends it just wide in the Manchester City goal
01:45Jai will enjoy the fact that his immediate opponent Baku has been booked
01:50check it
01:54it's Fodor
02:00his control was spot on here in a tight spot
02:08that's first class and that nearly was
02:18Riley finding himself as the most advanced city player oh dear
02:27well that was not supposed to happen like that
02:32Castelo Luqueba sliding in to try and keep the ball out of his net but he's put it into it
02:39a Manchester City lead
02:45well on the night when they had to do everything
02:49pretty much perfectly Leipzig going forward and defending
02:54Luque
02:55I need to keep that composure here O'Reilly forward again right lead by Haaland but he couldn't generate the
03:05power
03:08well in charge of this contest at the moment
03:13and that is the end of the first half all the attacking prowess that they have on show
03:21no half-time changes in personnel can the Germans engineer a change in scoreline here
03:30Antonio Nusa
03:43well that was a bit more quality both from the shooter
03:49and certainly the goalkeeper he needed every inch of that huge drive
03:56no wonder he's happy
03:58let's see who's at the heart of this attack
04:02Druda
04:04here comes Baku oh Baku squeezed it in
04:11the angle seemed impossible but the finish was unerring
04:17and the scores are level in Saxony
04:191-1
04:25well it's got to be set first in the second half and
04:29start quickly they certainly have Leipzig
04:34uh
04:35goza
04:36oh ripples the side netting from Ezekiel Banzo
04:39is he
04:41as much as you can
04:55not far away
04:57Naku needs to remember that he's one of the trio of players who has been booked
05:02before he thinks about diving in, here's Scherke
05:05oh it comes to Haaland tonight, Foden
05:11he's split with this Haaland, certainly he's not offside there
05:19but he was there, Phil Foden
05:22but maybe he just was overstepping the mark and they've done it a couple of times
05:28Bruder through to Baumgartner
05:31Baku again, didn't catch it quite right
05:34Donnarumma now, did he have his ball in his hand when the
05:38essentially committed Bolluz to that attack and it's wasteful from the home side
05:50Njai
05:51oh what a good ball and what a fine header to finish it off from Enzo Fernandes
05:56a goal dripping with quality
05:59and Manchester City ahead again
06:11it's a lovely piece
06:14Kruda
06:19and this is Nusa
06:21and that is 2-2
06:28Leipzig's player in form
06:30is Antonio Nusa
06:32the finish unerring
06:37Leipzig 2, Manchester City 2
06:41well if anybody was going to produce
06:43just over a quarter of an hour ago
06:45that's all the changes made now by Martin Di Michaelis
06:47here's Doku, one of those sent on by Enzo Mureska
06:53come back from Enzo Fernandes
06:55the vicious effort
06:57from Ryan Scherke that's turned wide
07:02this was Baku's goal
07:04I bet he could not believe that
07:07that he'd beaten Donnarumma in that fashion
07:15this was probably the take of the match wasn't it
07:18from Nusa
07:19fine goal
07:29great run this from Elliot Anderson
07:31and Haaland is there
07:34of course Haaland's there
07:36he's always there against Leipzig
07:50sliding in to give Manchester City another lead here
07:54to see the job through
08:03Doku up against Henricks
08:05puts it in an area
08:06comes back off the crossbar
08:07from Scherke
08:10comes on to it beautifully
08:19and Kuku
08:25all the deflection might be helpful for Gruda
08:29rolls it out
08:33Doku in a good position here for Manchester City
08:36to seal it
08:37but he sends it over
08:40can't believe it
08:42Orban was there but so too was Haaland
08:47and that's that
08:48a really absorbing night of Champions League football
08:51that sees Manchester City come out on top
08:53two old friends embrace from respective dugouts
08:56two old friends embrace from respective dugouts
