00:00The 37-year-old Italian has done a quite wonderful job in getting this club back on track.
00:06Not that they were ever that far away.
00:08They're always one of the big three.
00:10Alan Varela comes into midfield with Victor Froholt forced to sit out.
00:15And in midfield one bright young thing replaces another.
00:18Elliot Anderson gets a break. He's on the bench.
00:2118-year-old Ayubouadi.
00:23A lot of weeks and months of excitement ahead.
00:26This is just the start.
00:34City who get things started. They're in there. Change colours.
00:41Fernandes to Semenya.
00:46Semenya might fancy this. He does.
00:49Routine for the O2.
00:50He'll do a great deal at the moment. That's how it seems.
00:53Foden's feet and Cherky's ability might make something happen.
00:57Forced to go wide to Semenya. Here goes Foden in the middle.
01:00Foden across to Haaland.
01:03Of the greatest in their position here.
01:06Erling Haaland who you'd bank to score every time from that position.
01:10But then Diogo Costa he'd pretty much back to save.
01:13Oh it's absolutely brilliant. What a save from Costa.
01:16But the movement from Manchester City and it all come from Phil Foden.
01:20His little interplay gets the ball to the byline.
01:24Guardiola.
01:27Semenya again. He's got the time. Haaland can't get high enough.
01:32But Enzo Mareska knows that it's a really...
01:35Gehi.
01:38Cherky allowed to swivel.
01:40And allowed to fight Foden.
01:43It's repelled by Diogo Costa.
01:45It's a good save.
01:46Oh this is brilliant though from Cherky.
01:48It's all about the way to pass isn't it?
01:50It just allows Phil Foden to hit it first time.
01:53He scoops it. No it's not clean.
01:55He doesn't get the connection that he wants to just beat the keeper in that far post.
01:59But it's a lovely ball for Cherky.
02:03Boadi.
02:07All by Mateus Nunez to Cherky.
02:09Now Foden.
02:10Mateus Nunez.
02:12Haaland.
02:14Double save from Diogo Costa.
02:16And Semenya has allowed the ball to roll away.
02:20Very nearly a Manchester City goal.
02:22Two bites at it.
02:23I tell you it's going to take something special to beat this goalkeeper.
02:27It's such good play on the right hand side.
02:29Haaland that is going in the corner.
02:31Absolute brilliant strike from him.
02:33What a save from the keeper.
02:35But then to get up and quickly save the shot from Cherky.
02:39Outstanding goalkeeper.
02:40He was difficult to referee.
02:43I love that.
02:46Well he's had a fair bit to adjudicate on as that half's gone on.
02:49You can hear what the Porto public think about it.
02:51But you can see by the body language what Francesco Farrioli thinks about it.
03:00Porto.
03:01Get the second half started.
03:02No changes just yet to either side.
03:05But all the signs are that it's Foden.
03:10Haaland's on his way in the middle.
03:12Mateus Nunes steaming down the right.
03:13Foden's only looking to the left though.
03:15To Semenya.
03:17Semenya to Cherky.
03:19He's running out of room.
03:21Now delivered towards Haaland.
03:24Scores this time.
03:28It's taken 90 seconds of the second half.
03:32Haaland had two attempts to score with his head in the first.
03:36Third time lucky.
03:38Third time dead eye.
03:40Porto nil matches the City one.
03:42Well he wasn't going to miss was he the third time.
03:44Thoden does well.
03:45Driving centrally.
03:46Plays the ball out to Semenya.
03:48It's a nice weighted pass to Cherky.
03:51He just keeps it alive.
03:52And just a lovely ball in isn't it from Fernandes.
03:55Just gets his head up.
03:56Sees exactly where Haaland is.
03:58And Haaland's got to generate some power there.
04:00And just gets enough on it.
04:02Just squirms into that far post.
04:07Goal is being checked but then every goal is.
04:11Haaland there just in front of Jakob Kivjord.
04:15No chance.
04:19One Enzo to another there.
04:20Mareska to Fernandes trying to get his attention.
04:24It's Varela.
04:27Oh so close.
04:29So close to 1-1.
04:31I thought it had gone in.
04:33It's lovely link up play here and on his right foot.
04:36Oh so close.
04:38Just can't get enough whip on it.
04:40So much better from Porto this though.
04:44Well and Varela not noted for scoring.
04:48It's Rosario and that was really nicely done.
04:52Got the room here for Varela.
04:55William Gomez.
04:56Varela goes around the outside.
04:57William Gomez goes for goal.
05:00And Donnarumma knew where it was going.
05:09He's in Jai.
05:13Jai getting himself in with a chance.
05:16And it's two straight.
05:17He's been on loan with Porto from Rennes since the start of February.
05:21He was actually on Manchester City's books for three years.
05:24From 2013.
05:25But he never made the first team.
05:27He was out on loan to Fulham and to Bastia.
05:29He's 31 now the Iborian.
05:32He's in Jai.
05:34That's clear.
05:35Diogo Costa.
05:36But it was too high for Haaland as well.
05:40To Fernandes.
05:41Haaland.
05:42Room for Manchester City.
05:44Look at Haaland going through the middle.
05:47Jai couldn't find him.
05:48This is Aik Nori with a chance.
05:51Will he hammered it?
05:53It's a big chance on the break for Manchester City.
05:56Look at him flooding forward.
05:59It's time to take a touch and pick his spot.
06:02Just gets it wrong.
06:12Fernando Fernandes with the ball in.
06:14What a beauty.
06:15Ruben Diaz heads it over the bar.
06:16Well you can't ask for better service.
06:19Oh it's an outstanding delivery.
06:24Here's Anderson.
06:34Good try.
06:35Good save Diogo Costa.
06:37On target from Elliot Anderson.
06:40Looks very cool.
06:41He flapped away by Portugal's number one.
06:44Yeah just opened up for him.
06:46On his right.
06:47Thornton he thought why not.
06:50Just makes it look easy doesn't he Costa.
06:56City will feel they have the chances in this to score three or four goals tonight.
07:00But this is a one-nil win they will be absolutely delighted with if it turns out that way.
07:07Still five minutes to go.
07:10Deep towards Haaland.
07:12Back in towards Jai.
07:16Pepe tries to clear.
07:19Pepe tries to clear.
07:20Kovacic.
07:22Ain't Nuri.
07:23Four in the box in black and gold.
07:25One of them is Haaland.
07:26Two-nil Manchester City.
07:30Two goals.
07:31Erling Haaland.
07:35Brand new season.
07:37Same old story.
07:52Now we hear applause ring around the Estadio Dragao for the efforts that Francesco Farrioli's team have put into this
08:00game.
08:00It's only now at the very end that they've finally been beaten.
08:04Oh it's been so competitive and Manchester City do well.
08:07They keep the ball alive.
08:09Ain't Nuri gets it.
08:09That will go down in the admin as adopting an aggressive attitude.
08:13Yeah.
08:15You'll be on the field if you haven't got one of those.
08:19Good try.
08:20Diogo Costa gets across.
08:22Enzo Fernandes.
08:24Can't have been far away from making it three here.
08:27Oh it's a great free kick isn't it?
08:29How about that for awareness.
08:30And another one.
08:32Had to get his hand on that.
08:36Shot's reigning in on Diogo Costa's goal now.
08:41Ball time in the Estadio do Dragao.
08:45And Timon Marciniak deserves praise as well because he's had to have his wits about him.
08:49It's a game that has been or has it been full thought.
