00:00right and the match coming up could be well significant over who's going to get that gold
00:04we're mere moments away here in atlantic city from andre the giant facing face to face
00:11the hulkster first opening let's go down to the ring announcer gorilla
00:21got a few guys with him jess
00:38largest professional athlete in the world today
00:46once again with a golden opportunity for andre to become the undisputed world wrestling federation
00:52champion and accompanying andre to the ring is ted dibiase the million dollar man as well as his
00:57bodyguard virgil don't like the sound of that yes why i just don't there's too many guys down there
01:05at ringside for my money dibiase owns andre's contract he's entitled to be down there well
01:11this is a single elimination tournament jess you know if you're a manager that's one thing
01:17when you start bringing two or three people down to ringside with you i don't know that's a little
01:21bit of an edge as far as i'm concerned well you got to look at it like this gorilla dibiase
01:26is there
01:26for andre's benefit virgil's there for dibiase's benefit i'm sure
01:33do you ever have a manager gorilla sure wild red berry wild red berry yeah he's since passed away
01:39there's a name out of the past definitely stepping right over that top rope that awesome figure
01:46he's he looks like about five and a quarter jeff got to be got to be
01:52andre the giant look at the look of determination on him you know he's not letting the fans bother him
01:57he looks like a man on a mission right now looks very cool oh there it is real american music
02:05means only one thing
02:14is
02:15listen to this place erupt well you can definitely tell who the fan favorite is
02:23oh there he is
02:27it is deafening in here
02:31i can't even hear myself fake right now
02:39in my book the biggest professional athlete in the world today the homestown
02:49what charisma
02:56they're on their feet here this capacity crowd
03:03kind of uh
03:05at least 20 000 strong closer to that 25 000 marches and i can't i can't visualize well i can't
03:13visualize
03:13but it's so unusual for me to see him standing there without the gold that's right he's without the
03:19gold if you look at the situation we can say both of these men are former champions and andre's already
03:25attacked hogan hogan came in flying in underneath that bottom rope and the bell is gone and andre
03:32attacked immediately the giant looks like he's going for the quick win gorilla the quick one
03:38big headbutt planted look out holster rammed into the top turnbuckle a big chop by andre he's pulling
03:45out all the stops early wow look at that roundhouse right right on the ear
03:54andre andre looks awesome
03:58oh big chop with that big meat hook of his
04:02right in a kisser with a headbutt hulk off with a flying forearm
04:06stunned the big guy didn't hurt him that one stunned him a little bit more
04:11and drove him back whoa he almost went out jess that's about all oh he's got debi
04:17up on the apron look out now he's got a bow this place has come apart
04:27and the hulks look at his shirt on
04:32unloading with chop after chop he's trying to chop down that big tree oh andre's at hogan's mercy
04:42andre tied up and there goes the shirt you can see virgil and dibiase try to free the giant's arms
04:49the giant is in one heck of a predicament right here gorilla tied up those big arms inside that
04:56top of snow he's out he wouldn't have got out of it had it not been for virgil and dibiase
05:00well
05:01that's the advantage of having him there that's why i said it was an advantage to begin with
05:06look out hulkster off the ropes like a slingshot you know it's amazing he just can't seem to knock
05:11the giant down giant went to one knee and now down boy is he dizzy
05:21and the hulks right there drops an elbow and another one and one more the hulks in great shape
05:32andre caught him though and went to an immediate choke hold reached right around and grabbed him by
05:37the throat well look at this plate right in front of the referee yeah but he's got the count of
05:43five
05:44to break it he could choke to four that's totally legal don't want to get disqualified here if you do
05:49your history andre with a headbutt right to the sternum the former champion and there's where hogan is in
05:57big trouble when he's down on the mat whoa can you imagine what that felt like gorilla on rail
06:07andre with those size 20s now put right to the head of hulk hogan well it's obvious that the
06:13punches hogan threw earlier took their effect on the giant the giant's walking it off right now
06:18but hogan's still dangerously down on that map andre trying to clear the cobwebs so he can continue
06:26with his attack oh there's another choke
06:31referee laying the count out andre breaks it on four the big man's smart he holds it for four and
06:37breaks before the favorite oh what a reverse night bench that was and another choke
06:58that's right that's right that's a legal hold but you can see the referee joey morella getting him close to
07:03take a look at it
07:06andre really applying the holster's got to get to his feet here to eliminate some of that downward
07:11pressure you know the good thing for andre and this his hands are so big all he's got to do
07:16is shift
07:16him over maybe a quarter of a half an inch and he can change that to a choke hold absolutely
07:21good observation jess
07:24referee now checking the arm on the homster that's one time a drop if it drops three times it's over
07:30that's right and hogan will be up oh and only half a drop that time oh listen to him
07:37listen to the explosion
07:40holster turning it to his feet he's made it up there he's got to break those big he's dead
07:47and i can't believe it he pulled the arms away look out hulk going downstairs
07:54andre nailed in the kisser again the big guys really
08:01look out hulk off the ropes came to fight
08:07the former champion wants to go back he said he's going to slam him jess
08:13that remains to be seen look at virgil up on the apron
08:28oh
08:29he still couldn't drop the giant with a chair and morella should disqualify hogan
08:40oh he's trapped again as andre trying to lower the boom on the hump
08:45oh
08:48we're gonna have a bell here very shortly i'm sure there it is what's the call which one's eliminated
08:53one of these guys they both used the chair hulk still got it oh there goes the tree
09:05look at that dibiase and virgil trying to drag the big carcass out of there
09:09they didn't make it i'm waiting for the referee's decision now both men used the chair
09:16both guys used it we need a decision here hogan chasing out dibiase and virgil
09:23the holster after the case of the million dollar man who turns around
09:27and puts virgil right in front of him he literally threw virgil to the rolls
09:33yeah he did but that's virgil's job he's a bodyguard that's just what it says guard the body
09:38nibiase took off like a thief in the night look at this suplex
09:46virgil is out of it we still don't have a decision
09:49maybe they're just gonna let the match continue the match is over just the bell rang
09:55andre's still in the ring it is official right now both men have been disqualified that means they're
10:01both eliminated they're both gone they're both gone oh he slams andre
10:11it doesn't matter though both men have been eliminated either one of these men will be entitled
10:20to wear the belt of the champion they've both been eliminated by a lot of a double disqualification
10:26wow that means that means the winner of the debiase morocco match gets a bye into the finals
10:37absolutely they are automatically in the finals what's the matter with hogan he didn't win the match
10:45he's standing out there like he won the match he's gone he's history he obviously just i'm sure feels
10:53and number one he's got to feel very bad about being eliminated no question about that but also he
11:00eliminated the big guy
11:03listen to him unreal but that ain't what it's all about gorilla it's about regaining the title
11:11there's always another day you know i just thought of something maybe that was
11:16debiase's plan all along to use andre to eliminate hogan so that he could get the title
11:23well that's possible but i don't i don't buy that at all i don't buy that at all because that
11:29doesn't
11:30give him the title just only another opportunity another chance at it that's right but if he gets
11:35by the rock down morocco he's into the finals now yes i realize that and they're still on their feet
11:43here
11:43as one applauding this guy and cheering on his former champion he's still got it jess
11:51he's still got that unbelievable charisma
11:56the hulkamaniacs are still there jess
12:02hulkamania is definitely alive and well
12:08they want more you know what i like go gorilla i love watching hogan pose when he's not the champion
12:16well that shows me a lot of class jess it shows you what a lot of class give the people
12:22what they want
12:23whether you're the champion or not
12:29donald trump obviously enthralled with hulk hogan you know the guy in the center of the ring ain't a
12:37winner the winner's donald trump he's a winner to me well i'll tell you what the guy that's in the
12:44ring right now is a winner in my book jess with or without the gold he's a winner let me
12:50just tell
12:50you this donald trump signed me a heck of a check to get me to appear yeah i'm sure you
12:55have to
12:57as his capacity crowd of 20 000 plus looks on still cheering what i still consider to be the
13:05greatest professional athlete in the world today the hulk star no he's not because he won't be the
13:10champion now don't make him the greatest the greatest we'll find out in about an hour
13:16right now the title is still vacant jess and in my book this guy is still the greatest pro athlete
13:22in
13:22the world today until somebody wears that gold my mind cannot be changed well you'll know in an hour
13:30like i said well he's got him right where he wants him you can bet we're going to be seeing
13:38a whole lot
13:39more of that guy yeah we'll see a whole lot more of him but without the championship of the world
13:48the hookster making his way back up the ramp they're all on their feet here cheering them on
13:56what a job he did he was out there against three guys jess i've never seen a guy so ecstatic
14:02about being eliminated from a chance to regain his championship of the world
14:10as i am a real american continues to go on the holster stomping along the way to acknowledge all
14:18these fans
14:23takes a man and a half to do that what to sit out there and pose
14:28no to give the people what they want
14:31maybe you'll give us a little pose then i must be a heck of a man gorilla because i always
14:36give the
14:37people what they want yeah but most of the time they're not cheering like they are right now
14:42there he goes i'll show you hulk hogan
14:47they're still on their feet right now we're going to take you back with me and gene oakland
