00:00Three, two, and one.
00:06So two years ago, I had the incredible honor to stand alongside the Prime Minister to break ground on Google's
00:13first data center campus in Malaysia, in Almena Business Park, in Salangor.
00:19Today, I'm so pleased to say that campus is fully operational. It's running 24 hours a day, every day.
00:30We didn't stop there. This afternoon, I am so pleased to build on that work and announce a $15 billion
00:38U.S. dollar investment in Malaysia.
00:45We are very excited about expanding our digital infrastructure here responsibly, investing in resource stewardship and clean energy initiatives, as
00:58well as new skilling programs in order to open pathways to economic opportunity for Malaysians across the country.
01:06Google's announcement reflects our confidence in the strength of Malaysia's leadership, its skilled workforce, and enthusiasm for digital transformation.
01:15And it underscores our commitment to strengthen Google's connection with Malaysia and Southeast Asia.
01:22Our mantra at Google is responsible execution done right, by which we affirm we invest aggressively to add energy capacity,
01:31protect energy affordability, and create pathways to economic opportunity in the communities and countries where we're growing.
01:38First, at the core of our announcement today are Google's investments in data centers and supporting infrastructure, including Google's existing
01:48campus in Almena Business Park, Salangor, and new planned campuses in Salangor and the Gary Simbala.
01:55We often talk about the cloud, but the internet really lives in data centers.
02:01Data centers keep Google's products and services running around the clock and around the world, from Google's search and YouTube
02:08to Gmail and Maps, and one of my favorites, Google Translate.
02:14Terima kasih.
02:19The best-in-class infrastructure will also support the upcoming Google Cloud region in Malaysia for enterprise customers to help
02:27them succeed and scale.
02:29And these include the Ministry of Higher Education, the state government of Salangor, Bank Mwe Malac, who are here with
02:37us today.
02:37Second, during the construction phase of these new campuses in 2027 and 2028, these infrastructure investments are expected to contribute
02:48an annual average of 1.1 billion U.S. dollars to Malaysia's GDP and support more than 37,000 local
02:58jobs per year.
02:59Once operational, the facilities are projected to support more than 9,000 long-term jobs with average wages 45%
03:08above Malaysia's median wage.
03:11We're proud to be creating jobs, and even more so to be creating high-value jobs that propel households forward,
03:18responding to the government's goal to raise the ceiling, raise the floor.
03:23It is an honor to be back here again with all of you, and I look forward to continuing to
03:29work together in a way that can deliver for the people of Malaysia.
03:34Thank you again for being here.
