00:00I think that a lot of people think that everyone has to agree with Jeff to be in his world.
00:05I mean, I definitely see that.
00:07I definitely see that.
00:09I mean, I've been married to my husband for 20 years.
00:12Hollywood is very, you know, but I don't have that with him.
00:15And we appreciate each other's frankness and honesty.
00:23Virtual reality.
00:27You know, I am so obsessed with you and I'm so obsessed with the fact that you are a star
00:31of Still Flipping Out on Bravo.
00:33Your Bravo return finally happened.
00:35How are you feeling about this show as it plays out?
00:39Because it's like almost as dramatic, if not more dramatic than Housewives.
00:45Really?
00:46I mean, you and Joey, you and Joey, like I.
00:49Yeah, it was.
00:51Yeah, it was dramatic.
00:52By the way, you know, the last time we were together, I think it was premiering like that day or
00:57that week.
00:58So insane.
00:59The first episode.
01:00And so I was like, oh, God.
01:01I'm like, and it's so interesting because I think that in this situation, because Joey and I have gotten to
01:09a better place in a genuine way, it's not as painful to watch for me.
01:13Like Housewives, because, like, I don't know, it tends to linger way longer, like 20 years, you know, of people
01:20being mad at each other.
01:22With Joey, it was, you know, but I know he was really struggling.
01:25He had a hard time playing it back.
01:30But, no, I was like, I wasn't mic'd up at Doug's party.
01:35I'm not a cast member.
01:36I was literally there as a friend of Doug going to his birthday.
01:42And, you know, it was like, just so you know, we're going to film.
01:44And I'm like, look, I love Jeff.
01:45I'm the support of I'll film this.
01:47You know, I'll have cameras up.
01:48But I didn't have a mic on.
01:49I did not expect at all to be dragged into this.
01:53And then I end up really getting dragged in.
01:57Well, it's so funny, too, that you got dragged into it.
02:00Because I don't know if Joey misheard what you said.
02:03But the first thing you said was in defense of Joey.
02:06Like, you were honestly trying to help him out.
02:09Did he ever understand that you were trying to help him out?
02:14Well, I think he didn't hear me say to Jeff, you know, like, you guys are going too hard.
02:22I don't think he heard that because there was a lot of stuff.
02:25He was like five seats away from me.
02:27So by then I chimed in and then he came.
02:31I don't know.
02:31I don't really know what I was just shocked.
02:34I was really I had no idea what was really happening.
02:38And because I thought maybe because I wasn't Mike.
02:40So I thought maybe I was missing something.
02:42That's why I looked a little bit floored.
02:44Like maybe something else happened down at the table that I was unaware of.
02:49Oh, OK.
02:50But nonetheless, I went to go talk to him at the next party.
02:55Well, actually, I saw him the next morning.
02:57We actually recorded Jeff's show and it seemed kind of fine.
03:01And then then I went to I saw him in the next party and that was like he was not
03:06happy.
03:07OK.
03:08With me, obviously.
03:08So, yeah, I don't know.
03:10I don't know what happened, but he gets to watch it back.
03:13He gets to see that I was defending him, you know.
03:15Right.
03:16Yeah, I know.
03:16I hope that he clocked that you were defending him.
03:18But I do love to hear that you guys are in a better place today.
03:21How did you get to that good place again?
03:23Was it was it hard?
03:25Was it easy?
03:25Like, I'm just so glad that it happened.
03:28So I think the beauty of filming a show like Real Housewives is I've learned really how to, like, speak
03:35up for myself and set boundaries.
03:39And my initial reaction to everything is like, that's OK.
03:44Like, that's fine.
03:45We'll just move on.
03:45Like, I don't want to deal with it.
03:47And in this situation, Joey was incredibly respectful, but he would text me.
03:51I want to.
03:52Can I take you to lunch?
03:53Like, I want to apologize.
03:54And I was like, I'm not ready yet.
03:55Like, I'm not ready to see you.
03:57I don't want to talk to you right now.
03:59It was always friendly.
04:00But I just I just wasn't ready because I knew if I saw him, it would either be another fight
04:05or I would just be lying and making it up and not really forgiving him.
04:10And so that went on for many months.
04:15If I would run into him, we were like at a meta dinner.
04:18We like lots of hugs and everything.
04:20But I just wasn't ready.
04:22And then when I was, I said I was ready and we got together and he was great.
04:27Like, he really was great about it.
04:28And for me, that showed a lot of promise in our friendship that he could take he could take a
04:35beat for me and also move on.
04:38You know, because when I move on, I'm like I when I say I'm going to move on, I'm not
04:42going to hold grudges against you.
04:43But I also knew that I didn't want to prematurely get together with him unless I was really ready.
04:49Yeah, no, that makes sense.
04:51Like, apologies that aren't genuine don't matter, like on both ends.
04:56So it's nice that you guys are able to take a beat, come back together.
04:58Now, I am curious if you are helping him secure any brand deals these days because baby boy was pissed
05:04about those brand deals he was missing out on.
05:07Well, here's the odd part.
05:09And I said this on the radio show recently.
05:12Like, if, you know, Joey's the original, right?
05:16He's the OG creator.
05:17He's the OG brand guy.
05:19Like, he should have plenty.
05:20Like, we're the ones, we're the old people like scraping by over here, you know?
05:26So I haven't got him a deal yet.
05:28But that doesn't mean that I won't try and help.
05:30I mean, Jeff made a good point.
05:32He was like, look, the brand deals Jeff Lewis would get would be very different from the brand deals that
05:36Joey would get because, you know, he doesn't need adult diapers just yet.
05:40Or he doesn't need, like, certain laser treatments, et cetera.
05:43So it's funny how...
05:44Hold on, hold on.
05:44I don't need adult diapers.
05:45All right.
05:46No, Crystal doesn't need those.
05:47But maybe in a year.
05:48You never know.
05:49Right here.
05:50Hey, look.
05:50It depends.
05:51I'm here.
05:51Lisa Rinna did it at a pretty young age.
05:54So, like, if the check is correct...
05:55Okay, well, I'm 43.
05:56So if anyone's looking for, you know, whatever is a foul problem, I'm here for you.
06:02That is so funny.
06:03Now, filming this show, did you...
06:05I mean, because you've been pretty enmeshed in the Jeff Lewis live world.
06:08You've been a chump for a while now.
06:09But did you happen to meet anyone new in Jeff's orbit by filming Still Flipping Out?
06:16Oh, yeah.
06:17I mean, I've gotten really close with Reza and MJ.
06:22Oh, yeah.
06:23Very close.
06:23And Gigi, actually, recently.
06:25But I would say those two I'm super close with.
06:28Right.
06:29But luckily, I've been paired up with them on the radio show.
06:32And just immediate closeness.
06:35And that's been amazing.
06:37And, yeah.
06:37No, I mean, it's real friendships.
06:39And also, what's fun is, like, Molly Sims is on the show a lot.
06:42And Molly and I are really good friends because we're in the same class at school.
06:46Our boys are in class together.
06:47And they play football together.
06:48So there's a lot of, like, random, like, oh, that's Molly.
06:52Like, I know Molly is a mom.
06:53Uh-huh.
06:53Like, in our mom chat.
06:54Not in the chump chat.
06:56Right.
06:57Yeah.
06:58So when I listen to her, I'm like, oh, it's so funny.
06:59When she's talking about her son, I'm like, I knew exactly what happened because I was
07:03there.
07:04That's also so fun to just be, like, casually friends with Molly Sims, this, like, iconic
07:08supermodel.
07:08Like, I just love your world, Crystal.
07:11No big deal.
07:11It's amazing.
07:13It's amazing.
07:13Now, I am kind of curious.
07:14What are your thoughts on Annie Sharp?
07:16Because as we see in previews and as everyone knows, she eventually gets fired by Jeff.
07:21And when Danny and I chatted with Jeff earlier at the start of the season, it seemed like
07:27a difficult subject for him to broach because I think there is still, like, I think he still
07:31likes Annie.
07:32Like, I think he appreciates her as a person.
07:34So it must have been really tough to, I guess, give her the axe, give her the boot.
07:38What did you think of Annie and the way she was let go from the Jeff Lewis Live universe?
07:44So I always liked Annie.
07:45Annie was, like, a little daughter to me, not even sister.
07:49She's quite young.
07:50And so I just always talked to her as sort of a mom figure, an auntie to her.
07:55I always liked Annie.
07:56Like, I really not have any problems other than Joey, you know, at that time.
08:02I know, and I say this, I know present.
08:05Like, I know Jeff, like, loved Annie.
08:08They really had their own special connection.
08:11And I think he saw her as, like, his older daughter.
08:15I mean, every time I'd have dinner, he'd, like, talk about Annie.
08:18I'm like, you're with her 20 hours a day.
08:20And he's like, she's so funny.
08:21And, you know, so I think when he felt like she wasn't doing her work stuff, you know,
08:28and, you know, just her responsibilities were sort of waning, you know.
08:34Yeah.
08:35I think that was really hard on him.
08:37Right.
08:37Because the two were not matching.
08:40Like, he loved her personally, but her work was not up to snuff.
08:44And then, you know, so I think he did give her a lot of options.
08:47But he also gave her, and he would admit this, like, he gave her a lot of extra leeway
08:52because he loved her so much.
08:54And maybe those responsibilities became unclear.
08:59Gotcha.
08:59You know, it became a little gray.
09:01Right, right.
09:02Yeah.
09:02So I think it's on both sides.
09:04But I know he really loved her.
09:06And, but nonetheless, I told her as her big auntie, you got to get your work done first.
09:12You know, whatever that looks like, whatever he's asked you to do, you sign the dotted line.
09:17This is your job.
09:18And this is an amazing opportunity.
09:20Jeff will pave the way for you in so many avenues.
09:24And, you know, but sadly, it ended.
09:27And that's too bad for both of them.
09:29Right.
09:29I mean, Jeff is known to be a hard ass, and he's known to be tough.
09:32And I think there's this perception that he's super intimidating.
09:36I mean, before Danny and I did Jeff Lewis Live, I was kind of, like, shaking in my boots.
09:40I didn't know, didn't know what to expect.
09:42But there's this really sweet, sensitive side to him.
09:44What do you think is the biggest misconception about Jeff Lewis?
09:49Well, look, Jeff is a total hard ass.
09:52That's how I met him.
09:53He was a total dick to me.
09:55And we can laugh about it now because the way I came into his life was by responding and clapping
10:01back and all that.
10:02But, like, I would not want a real friendship that has sort of an undertow of negativity.
10:08You know, like, I wouldn't stay, I wouldn't be around Jeff if, if that was the case.
10:13Right.
10:14You know what I mean?
10:14Like, Jeff is incredibly generous.
10:17I mean, I, it's rare to find someone like that.
10:20He's generous to his family.
10:22He's generous to his team.
10:23And he's generous to us as his guests and friends.
10:27And he really, really wants to help other people succeed and really push that.
10:34I mean, every time I'm on, he's like, okay, let's talk about Humblebrag.
10:37What are you doing this week?
10:38And, you know, he really, it's like, you're not just there for him.
10:41He's there for you as well.
10:42Yeah.
10:43And I really appreciate that, especially in a space that's brand new to me.
10:46I mean, I've had other successes, but I am like a baby in the podcasting world.
10:51We're year three now.
10:52We just celebrated our hundredth.
10:54Yeah.
10:54Congrats.
10:55But we still feel thank you, you know, but we still, and Cynthia always says this, like, Cynthia and Jeff
11:00are super close.
11:01And we just always give him his flowers because not only does he help promote us, but he also gives
11:07us guidance, content, and, you know, like where we're going with the show.
11:11And he's just a really good person like that.
11:13Now, does he have a fiery tongue?
11:16And sometimes he can, you know, say things that I don't like?
11:19Yes.
11:20But I do have a friendship with him now that I can say, like, don't say that.
11:23I don't like that.
11:24I don't agree with you.
11:25It's the people that I think, I think that a lot of people think that everyone has to agree with
11:29Jeff to be in his world.
11:32I mean, I definitely see that.
11:35I definitely see that.
11:36I mean, I've been married to my husband for 20 years.
11:39Hollywood is very, you know, but I don't have that with him.
11:42And we appreciate each other's frankness and honesty.
11:47I love that.
11:48I also love that your friendship kind of began with you clapping back.
11:51And that actually gives me hope for a future friendship between Jeff Lewis and Gina Kirshenheiter from Orange County Housewives.
11:58I mean, what's your take on this?
12:01Okay.
12:03I hate it because I know how she's feeling.
12:06Because I actually had Gina on my show on Humblebrag the day he kind of came for her.
12:13And so people thought it was connected.
12:14But as you know, we filmed this a week prior.
12:16So it just happened to me and I was like, I didn't like it.
12:19Like, I would say this right to his face.
12:21Like, I don't agree with what he says about her.
12:24I like Gina.
12:25I think she's super nice.
12:26And I'm really impressed with, you know, her arc of her own life beyond the show.
12:31You know, what she's done in her life.
12:32Now, Jeff has his opinions and that's why he's also in Bravo.
12:36Like, you know, I think it's maybe it's seen a little differently because he's a man.
12:40I'm guessing, you know, that like because when you see women clapping at each other, they cheer.
12:47But nonetheless, it's not my style.
12:49I don't do that.
12:50I don't just comfort people out of nowhere.
12:53But it's his dick.
12:54I hope when I watched her, I was like, oh, maybe fast forward a year.
13:00She'll be really close friends with him.
13:02And that would make me really happy.
13:04I really respect them both.
13:07I really like them both.
13:08Right.
13:08We're manifesting full time chump status for Gina Kirsten-Hydra.
13:11That would be that would be incredible.
13:13Yes.
13:14Oh, Crystal.
13:14Call Amanda.
13:15Let's manifest it.
13:15Okay.
13:16Yes, Amanda.
13:17You need to help us, girl.
13:19Thank you so much, Crystal.
13:20It's always so great catching up with you.
13:22And it's just honestly such a joy to see you back on TV in any capacity.
13:26I just I just love you so much.
13:28I love you, baby.
13:29Thanks.
