00:00New details are coming out about the tragic death of Erin Benavides, the woman once accused
00:05of having an emotional affair with Eva Longoria's ex-husband, Tony Parker.
00:09The medical examiner's office exclusively confirmed to Page Six that the 54-year-old's
00:13cause of death was a self-inflicted gunshot wound, and her manner of death was ruled a
00:18suicide. The office added that her full autopsy report is not yet available, but is expected
00:23to be completed within about a week. Page Six obtained a police report revealing investigators
00:27found multiple bullets and three firearms following her death at her Texas home on October 14th.
00:33The report said authorities received a call claiming that a woman had threatened to take
00:36her own life. Police arrived after a friend of her husband received an alarming text message
00:40from her. Officers forced their way inside, where they discovered Benavides with an apparent
00:45self-inflicted gunshot wound. Authorities previously said they found no evidence suggesting foul
00:49play. Benavides made headlines back in 2010 after she was accused of having an emotional
00:54affair with Parker, who was then married to the Desperate Housewives actress. Benavides
00:59at the time was married to Parker's former NBA teammate, Brent Berry, but denied having
01:03an affair with Parker. Longoria filed for divorce from Parker in November 2010, and Benavides
01:09and Berry also ended their marriage. Benavides later had a career in law, serving as a prosecutor
01:14in Texas and working with organizations dedicated to helping vulnerable children. She resigned from
01:19her position with the 38th Judicial District in August 2026, just two months before her tragic death.
