00:00So at a time when consumers are doing it really tough,
00:03you'd think that companies would give us a break,
00:05but it's not the case.
00:07And this year we had so many contenders
00:09for our annual Shonky Awards.
00:11So this year the Shonky's go to Ticketek and Ticketmaster
00:15for fleecing fans with their sneaky pricing tactics.
00:19They're doing things like dynamic pricing
00:21or in-demand pricing.
00:23They're concealing ticket prices,
00:25they're putting strict time limits on,
00:28and all of these different tactics are pushing up
00:32to sort of excessive prices for fans.
00:35So if we move across here to Virgin,
00:38they took all of our money.
00:40So Virgin's receiving a Shonky Award this year
00:43because there was around $93 million worth of flight credits
00:47over that COVID period
00:49and consumers were only able to regime some of that.
00:52And then recently Virgin pocketed
00:55the last $75 million worth of flight credits
00:59straight to their bottom line.
01:01Not to the consumer, straight to Virgin's bottom line.
01:05So this year we're giving Quest a Shonky for their protein chips
01:08because they'll not only get you ripped, but ripped off,
01:12because they cost nearly 900% more than regular chips.
01:16Sony's receiving a Shonky Award this year for revealing to customers
01:20that even when they pay to download a movie or a game via a digital download,
01:25that they don't actually own them.
01:27So this year we're giving insurer Pet Cover, a Shonky for their economy insurance policy.
01:33It's because every year it resets a whole new policy.
01:37So if your pets had an issue or a condition that year,
01:41it then classifies that as a pre-existing condition and it's no longer covered.
01:45And we think that's dodgy.
01:46And then finally, we've got Hisense with their eco-friendly washer-dryer.
01:52And with all of those energy ratings,
01:54it's going to take you 25 hours to complete an eco-friendly wash and dry.
02:01As if there wasn't enough to do in a day.
02:04But now if you want to run an energy efficient washer-dryer cycle with Hisense,
02:09you can do so in actually 25 hours, so not even in a day.
