00:00The Commanders, obviously, beat the Eagles 27-10.
00:06It was one of those games that felt weird.
00:08I kind of felt bad.
00:09I was listening to the other hosts.
00:11They seemed more enthused about the win than we did.
00:15That's not particularly unusual.
00:17I'm the only real Skins fan in here.
00:19I guess Cakes is purporting to be.
00:22Yeah, he's faking it.
00:23He's kind of a fake fan.
00:25He's all about his fantasy.
00:26We know that.
00:29But I watched that game, and I was just a little frustrated the way it unfolded.
00:32It certainly didn't feel like a 17-point win.
00:35I listened to the other guys, though, Sheehan and B. Mitch and JP.
00:39Their point is, well, taken, any win is a good win.
00:43It doesn't matter.
00:43It's hard to win in this league.
00:45We know that.
00:45I probably should have been a little bit more enthusiastic about it.
00:50It's hard, though, when it was their first win in over a month.
00:53And, you know, as we talked about, the first win for Jaden Daniels since week 5 of 2025.
01:00They did score 27 unanswered points, though, after trailing 10 zippy early.
01:05That was good.
01:06We already know him, talked about him.
01:08I'm not trying to recap at all.
01:09But, you know, generating five sacks.
01:11The pressure.
01:12Rashad White having some impact.
01:14In fact, Jaden Daniels, I thought, picked up his game after the first quarter.
01:20Finished with some okay numbers.
01:21A couple deep balls.
01:22Hopefully that keeps people happy.
01:24But the thing that really scares you is another big-time injury.
01:29And you heard it there on the update.
01:31Jeremy McNichols.
01:32I don't know that they said exactly what it is beyond a foot injury, a mid-foot injury.
01:36But it looks like it's significant.
01:39Yep.
01:40And he's expected to miss multiple months.
01:42Well, that means it's over.
01:44So they're already thin with Bill, who's on the IR with their groin.
01:52They've got practice squad options in Craig Reynolds.
01:55Of course, they have Eckler and Rashad White.
01:58I thought Eckler, maybe Eckler does need a few more touches.
02:01You know, he's looked spry when given the opportunity.
02:03You know, he's not going to be able to carry the load.
02:07But it's a running back by committee.
02:08Can they get away with what they currently have?
02:11Or do they need more guys?
02:12They've got Reynolds and Devin Neal on the practice squad.
02:15I mean, Reynolds obviously has experience at the NFL level.
02:18He looks like he's competent, but, you know, nothing special.
02:20But he's a practice squatter.
02:22Yeah, he's a competent guy.
02:24So it just puts more onus on guys like White and Eckler.
02:29I don't know.
02:29That's a great question.
02:30How much are they?
02:32I mean, I've said it multiple times.
02:34I wish they were interested in Jonathan Taylor.
02:37Yeah, you just don't want to give up what you probably have to give up.
02:39From all the reports, there are five teams interested, and the commanders aren't one of them.
02:43And what are they asking for?
02:45At least one first?
02:46I haven't heard what they're asking for.
02:47It kind of probably depends on the team.
02:49You wonder, do they regret letting Katron Allen go, or was that just all kind of spin and
02:55they were fine with losing him?
02:57Remember, they picked up that fifth-round pick.
02:59Yeah, they picked up another fifth-rounder.
03:01But, you know, Allen, what I thought Allen's resume was, was all-time leading rusher at
03:06Penn State.
03:08And, you know, a guy that could get you, hopefully, tough first downs.
03:11Didn't have explosiveness, but, and I'm not sure they have a guy.
03:15Who's the guy now that's going to get him a tough first down?
03:18Who's the guy that you can kind of count on if you need, like, three tough yards?
03:23Rashad White.
03:23It's got to be your number one.
03:24It's got to be White.
03:25I guess it's got to be.
03:26Rashad White's done it before.
03:27It doesn't seem like he's built like that for me, but maybe he is.
03:30Maybe I'm underestimating him.
03:32Um, well, the thing that also scares you a little bit about the Rams is when they played
03:38Philadelphia, McKee, when they got pressure on him, you know, he, he played like a backup.
03:44You know, he either held the ball and got sacked or he.
03:46Yeah, you're not going against that.
03:48He just threw it to the first guy he saw.
03:50Yeah.
03:50But now, if you don't get pressure on Stafford, he's going to kill you.
03:52So, they got to do a really good job, again, getting to the quarterback.
03:56Yeah, well, again, the one good thing is that, thank God, they at least can have an attempt
04:01to have some semblance of real NFL coverage on Puka, even though Puka is one of the best
04:07and can kind of beat anybody.
04:09At least we're not throwing Mikey out there.
04:10I believe Mikey Sanistro had zero defensive snaps.
04:14And it's not to be in a personal attack on him.
04:16He's a great kid.
04:17Everybody likes him.
04:18Just been struggling.
04:19Right.
04:19And Amos looks like he's better suited.
04:21So, maybe he can give him a fighting shot.
04:25You know, you're going to need some help, though.
04:27You're going to need some help from Reeves and Nick Cross and all those guys
04:30to try to contain him as best you can.
04:34But that's a separate deal.
04:36We could talk about that Rams matchup.
04:38Let's still touch back, though, on kind of the ramifications of that Eagles loss.
04:44I know Valdez has some audio.
04:47Is it a radio guy that's kind of crashing out?
04:50Yeah, yeah.
04:50Because all the talk in Philly now is with all of the injuries about tanking.
04:55And so, you just lost to the commanders on prime time.
04:59They have now lost, what, six in a row?
05:01Is that something crazy like that?
05:03Yeah, six in a row.
05:04They lost six in a row.
05:05Yeah, season's going sideways.
05:07And so, now the fan base is talking to their – or calling in to just tanking to their host.
05:13And then their host could do this.
05:16I love the people that are like, let's tank.
05:18Who are we beating?
05:20We're not beating anybody.
05:21What are you talking about tanking?
05:23You don't have to worry about tanking.
05:24They can't beat anybody.
05:25Stop telling me to tank.
05:27Who are they beating?
05:28Honestly.
05:29Stop talking about the tank.
05:32They're doing it.
05:33We don't have to put anybody on the bench.
05:35We don't have to fire anybody.
05:36They can't beat anybody.
05:38It's not going to be about tanking.
05:40Just continue to play.
05:41Hey, they're going to get themselves – well, you got a pretty good – you know, the Chargers have a
05:46good start.
05:470-7.
05:48I don't know if they're going to get that bad.
05:50But they're right there.
05:51Stop talking about tanking.
05:52This team can't win.
05:54That's a great – it's a great point.
05:56I know.
05:57That's a great point.
05:58They're naturally tanking.
05:59Yeah, yeah.
05:59That's a great point.
06:01First of all, I hate tanking.
06:02I disagree with it.
06:04Now, the Wizards did it over three years, and it looks like it's going to work out for them, at
06:07least to an extent.
06:08We'll see how it goes.
06:08But I'm still sort of against it philosophically.
06:13I'm definitely against it tanking six or seven games into an NFL season.
06:17We've seen teams turn it around, you know, nine games in many, many times.
06:21But his point is very well taken.
06:25Even if you wanted to take – what would you do different?
06:27Right.
06:28When you have everybody hurt, you can't win anyway.
06:32So what's the difference between tanking or just playing backups because your starters are hurt?
06:36I mean, playing a backup quarterback, nine times out of ten, is not going to be fruitful for you over
06:41time.
06:42It's no disrespect to McKee.
06:43I thought McKee did some things that were nice.
06:45When he had time.
06:46But over time, he's going to be exposed.
06:50And then Saquon looked like a shadow of himself.
06:53He looked like a 50-year-old guy.
06:54Yeah.
06:55I guess the tankers up in Philly just wanted to say, all right, either trade Barkley, trade everybody, or sit
07:04Barkley because he's clearly not 100%.
07:06They probably should do that.
07:08They're just frustrated.
07:09I got to listen to some sports radio as I was driving around to New Jersey and then in New
07:14York.
07:15Man, we think we have a bad here, but the Jets fans and listening to the radio talk about the
07:22Jets, and then I got to hear a little of the WIP radio people talking about the Eagles.
07:31I mean, there's definitely a lot of unhappiness.
07:33And so they've had a lot of success.
07:35They're not used to losing.
07:37So that's why they're going to that extreme.
07:38Yeah, but here's the thing.
07:41We're not but a week or two away, potentially, from those exact same calls here.
07:46Sure.
07:46I mean, if they lose to the Giants, if they lose to the Rams, we're likely to lose.
07:52If they can win, of course they can win.
07:53But they're likely to lose.
07:54More times than not, they're going to lose.
07:55Rams are the favorite.
07:56So there could be a little bit of a call for it, but at least you have the week before
08:00wins still kind of that little aftertaste in your mouth.
08:02If they lose to the Rams and the Giants, full-blown, everyone will give up.
08:08Oh, yeah.
08:09Everyone will give up.
08:09And that'll be reasonable.
08:11We've already heard it from some of the callers.
08:13The one guy called in and said, just sit J.D.
08:16Yeah, right.
08:17Seven games in.
08:18That's stupidity is what that is.
08:20If you're 2-6-1, though, the season is over.
08:22Yeah, but you still have to play J.D.
08:24Yeah, yeah.
08:24He has to play every game.
08:25And the other thing is, who are you tanking for?
08:30Are you tanking for Jeremiah Smith?
08:33You already have your quarterback, right?
08:35You have your franchise quarterback.
08:36No, tankers just want to tank to have the higher draft pick.
08:38It doesn't matter who you are.
08:40I think tanking makes sense in certain drafts.
08:44If you don't have a quarterback and there's a clear number one quarterback who is going to be a generational
08:51talent, then maybe it makes some sense to tank.
08:54But it is harder to do it in the NFL.
08:57And look, in the NBA, they had to do all these anti-tanking things because in the NBA, it definitely
09:00makes a difference.
09:01When you know there's an absolute stud coming out that makes it worth it and there's a good draft class,
09:07it can make a huge difference.
09:09Just think about all the fan bases that are probably thinking that same thing.
09:12I mean, Philly now is.
09:14Washington could be.
09:16Miami's got to be in that.
09:17The Colts are tanking because they've traded off to starters.
09:22Maybe a third.
09:23Maybe Taylor gets traded.
09:24But they don't have a first-round pick.
09:26I know, but they're still tanking because they're acquiring picks.
09:29The Chargers, they're dead.
09:31Yeah.
09:32I'm just not wired that way, though, even though it may be some sort of weird, that's the only way
09:37to do it.
09:38Like, we have 17 games of this.
09:40We look forward to them all year.
09:42You just want to throw away 10 of them.
09:45Maybe in the last week or two, fine.
09:47To me, it still matters.
09:49When they win, my week's a little better.
09:51My daughter recognizes it.
09:52She said, Dad, you're going to have a good week.
09:54They've got to win.
09:54When they lose, it bums me out.
09:57I don't know if you have teams where you feel that way, but I know in this area, when the
10:02team wins, people are happier.
10:04People are fans of the team.
10:06So I don't like, even if we finished 7-10 or something, I'd rather win the last few.
10:13Feel better each week.
10:14And just think about how jacked the fans will be if they do beat the Rams, and you beat the
10:17Seahawks and the Rams,
10:19who before the season started, right now they're out of the playoffs,
10:21but before the season started, the Rams and Seahawks were, I don't know, top three, top four in terms of
10:27odds to win this bowl.
10:28I can't even let my brain go there.
10:30But if you beat the Rams, you're all back in.
10:33Absolutely.
10:33You beat the Rams with the Giants next.
10:35You're back in.
10:36If we beat the Rams, I'll full on say we can beat anybody.
10:40But I just don't know how we're going to do it.
10:42It's hard for me to wrap my brain around it, other than fluky things happen.
10:45Well, they also haven't looked super impressive this year.
10:48They don't have Devontae Adams.
10:49The Rams are a 500 team.
10:51Yeah, but you went through their schedule.
10:53Their losses are a really good team.
