00:53we're going to meet you at the line of scrimmage and we're going to get a push and it wasn't

01:13minnesota we're the first team to hand them a loss this year that's a statement win john what statement
01:19did they make well the statement of being able to adjust mid-game where alex van ginkle yeah some
01:25of it was blitz where he was just the one that was unblocked another one was against blake miller
01:30where he just beat him and i mean that's going to happen you've got to be able to if you're
01:35going to
01:35pick everybody up you've got to win all of those one-on-one matchups but that's what they try and
01:40do
01:40is they either want to have an unblocked defender running free at your quarterback or they don't want
01:48double teams they don't want an offensive lineman that has no one to block and is then looking for
01:53work and and give you a rib shot over here give you some help over there they make everybody block
01:58one-on-one and so you're going to have to have blake miller all game long he's not going to
02:03get
02:03help from a running back he's not going to get help from his guard he's not going to get help
02:06from a
02:07tight end you're going to have to be able to win those matchups and so knowing that they were not
02:13performing at their best level in pass protection you turn to the run game and especially in the
02:19second half when minnesota knew they're finding some success in the run game let's change up let's
02:24get some run dogs in there they still could not stop the lions rushing attack so it was
02:30the o-line being able to make those blocks and dominate at the line of scrimmage but tip of the
02:36cap to
02:36drew petzing showing a little creativity but adjusting on the run to the run game no pun intended
02:44to the run game to be able to win that game yeah look you could say it's a petzing game

02:50say it's a brad holmes game rebuilding the offensive line this was the first big test and they passed it
02:55you could say it was a juice scruggs game because his insert you know his um when he was inserted

03:06alone i mean think about that and that's look they're they're going to be a tough team to pass

03:21blitz on 90 of dropbacks just don't drop back to my point is there's a lot of offensive coordinators
03:27that say you know what i put together this beautiful game plan and it's going to work even
03:32if it does it in the first quarter or the second quarter it's going to work i'm not going to

03:37from what i'm doing that stubbornness costs teams games it costs teams seasons but to be able to
03:46adjust and say you know what this isn't working i spent all this time i spent six days putting this
03:53together what's my plan b what's my plan c if you got to get to plan d like you've got

03:59make those adjustments that's why i look at and say drew petzig like again love the fact that he was

04:59action but the guy was just there right but my point is have some awareness of what is and who

05:07around you yeah he also has a track record and once you get the target on your back they're going
05:12to look for taunting they're going to want to find taunting don't you think too especially after the
05:16the way the game ended against the packers where they're all doing the peanuts dances yeah there
05:20was going to be a crackdown on hey and i hate it like you should be allowed to have fun

05:30these guys are intense and that they they want to stick it to everyone but come on man let's go

05:43thinking as you watched the last couple three weeks i think our defense improved a lot because
05:47we have been controlling the ball the time of possession like yesterday we had the ball for
05:52almost 36 minutes yeah and you just see in the fourth quarter it looked like into the middle of
05:58third into the fourth quarter that vikings defense wasn't getting to the edge they were getting tired
06:02and the best way for your defense to play good is not be on the field and it clearly felt
06:08like
06:08there was an awareness of the workload for jameer gives and then if you're going to take him off the
06:14field especially in the fourth quarter and you put seone vacay in and he picks up nine yards picks up
06:20ten yards like that to me was to your point you win the time of possession against a team like
06:26minnesota that might be what that might be the most important stat of that game yeah we had the ball
06:33ten minutes more you know almost 12 minutes more than them and it's like you could just see it you
06:38could see a wearing that's the whole line but they were just starting to wear on that defense
06:42yeah it was a beautiful thing to see and they were picking up like they were making all the calls
06:48and eyes up hey if somebody's in your gap you're gonna have to adjust on the fly on the run
06:53and they
06:54did texas how about the poor clock management going into halftime wasted almost 60 seconds not trying
07:01to get a touchdown what did you make at the end of the half i was frustrated that they had
07:05three
07:05timeouts and with a minute left they didn't call one i can't remember exactly where they were i think
07:12it was like a third and short and they wound it all the way down to like 30 seconds yeah
07:16and i think
07:17the thought was if they don't get it they would punt it and minnesota couldn't do anything but
07:23i'm not really afraid of minnesota's offense if i give them the ball back with a minute
07:26so be it i want that time to try to punch it in the end zone right um that that
07:32that did frustrate
07:33me at the time obviously some of those things you you forget about willing to accept when you do

08:49collapsed on him um i the passing the blocking obviously um he just he's one of those players that
09:00he may not be the most physically gifted but he puts his heart on the line he shows you what

09:12formation he was he is just he is the epitome of what i want for my quarterback you know i

09:20the big guys the josh allen's the fast guys like lamar but he gives it everything and i could not

09:28more and then on top of that sione vackey gibbs was struggling vackey came in he pumped that team up
09:37he wasn't letting first contact get him down he disappeared in the pocket in between everybody
09:44and jumped out the announcers were impressed i mean it just that second half made me have belief
09:52in this team and it may just be one game it may be whatever but against that flores defense
09:59and and the grit that they showed and them just persevering and i just i could not be more impressed
10:05by our quarterback our team and our defense and defense bending and not breaking yeah i thought the
10:13defense played extremely well especially against the guy like justin jefferson tj hockinson jordan
10:18addison had the 151 yarder um and i i just felt like the defense is starting to find its stride

10:28what do those injuries mean how long will they be we have no idea anything about jack campbell yes and
10:35on that note we're going to give brad holmes some praise for fixing this offensive line we're going to
10:39point out it was a year late yeah let's not be a year late with the back end of this
10:43defense there
