01:20You have to say that Mark Marquez once again is operating at a supreme level.
01:27He's just done, well, he's the fastest rider on circuit once again.
01:30This has been brilliant, hasn't it, by Mark?
01:32He's just put in a 159.7 forward.
01:35He briefly went down into the two-minute barrier, didn't he, Mark?
01:39But he's upped the pace once again.
01:41He's building an advantage of almost, but he's now over half a second clear of Alex,
01:45halfway around this lap six of 20.
01:49Pedro Acosta just, we're watching brief now, behind Alex Marquez.
01:53Of course, Alex was clear on the first lap, just how desperately he wanted to do the leading.
01:58Of course, if you're in second place, as close as he is behind his older brother,
02:02there'll be all sorts of hot air coming from that factory Ducati up ahead of him
02:06onto the front tyre of Alex Marquez.
02:08So potentially just sitting back at around a half a second deficit to Mark Marquez,
02:12just to ensure that his front tyre pressure doesn't go through the roof.
02:15I mean, these riders are having to deal with the extreme ambient temperatures,
02:19which have a feel-like of about 40 to 41, 42 degrees centigrade.
02:24But then, of course, these 300 horse-pound MotoGP bikes generate so much heat.
02:29I mean, he's trying to put it into some kind of context.
02:31I mean, imagine just blasting yourself under the hairdryer,
02:34not too far away from your face at full pelt.
02:36The heat that's going to be hitting your face is so, so extreme.
02:40I've heard so many riders down the east who say that they can barely breathe.
02:44The sort of the heat that gets into the back of your throat.
02:47You're gasping for breath anyway because your heart rate's approaching 200 beats per minute.
02:53You're just trying to regulate your breathing in such demanding circumstances.
02:58It really is brutal out there.
02:59I mean, can you imagine?
03:00It's like sliding with a hot poker ram down your throat.
03:03Well, that's the current situation that you're seeing there from that mother and son in the grandstand.
03:09It is currently factory Ducati leading the Cassini Ducati.
03:12Marc Marquez leading Alex Marquez.
03:14This is lap 7 of 20.
03:16So we're coming up to one-third distance in this Grand Prix.
03:19And still, just over 1.7 seconds, covers your top four.
03:23Ayagura just behind in fifth place.
03:25Then we have a second-and-a-half gap.
03:27Bastianini can't get himself back into the action with this top five.
03:31He's leading a group that goes all the way back to Frankie Morbidelli in 13th place.
03:35The tension here, if he hasn't got the pace in the second half of this Grand Prix,
03:38it could be some big family favours in coming, couldn't there, from Alex in terms of helping
03:43brother Marc in this title fight on Thursday in the Prevent Press Conference.
03:47That's, Marc, if there's been any kind of discussion between the two siblings about Alex.
03:52He's 73 helping out, 93.
03:54And Marc, just with a wry smile as he often does have, just said,
03:57when you are brothers, you don't need to talk about anything like that.
04:01The subject not even discussed.
04:03He said, everybody knows what to do.
04:06The message is seemingly loud and clear.
04:08I mean, if Marc Marquez, he doesn't tend, or he hasn't tended to, has he,
04:11in his illustrious Grand Prix career, when he's done so much winning,
04:13seven MotoGP World titles and 79 victories,
04:17he's never tended to need much help, or he's never tended to require the assistance of wingmen,
04:22but Alex Marquez, at the moment, the perfect win back for Marc.
04:25Well, does Marc Marquez ever ask for help either.
04:28He said, didn't he?
04:29You don't need the help.
04:31He doesn't need it.
04:32At the moment, that lead extending to eight tenths of a second now over Alex Marquez.
04:36Pedro Acosta gets one, one to see.
04:38He feels, he's got better pace here, Acosta, or thinks he's got better pace,
04:42but he can't afford to sit behind Alex Marquez for too much longer.
04:45If that lead for Marc Marquez starts to edge up towards the second.
04:48The problem here as well that surely is going to be occupying some part of Pedro Acosta's bandwidth
04:55between those ears is that front tyre temperature and that front tyre pressure.
04:59He's been stuck behind Alex Marquez for the majority of this Grand Prix.
05:05And with the conditions so extreme, it is going to be a factor at play.
05:10Of course, when you do get front temperature rising and ballooning,
05:13it's hard to stop the bike in a straight line.
05:15It's harder to flick it onto maximum lead angle.
05:19Everything just becomes a little bit more complicated, that little bit more difficult.
05:23And then you're on that tightrope of that front tyre grip.
05:25So easy to make a mistake.
05:27As you ride on board then, now with Acosta.
05:29Through the third gear, turn five, you're just here in there, feeding back the power in.
05:35Feathering the throttle there now as he goes through six.
05:38Of course, we talk about the temperature, the physicality, but of course, the riders,
05:42of course, they're part of the bike.
05:43They're having to move their body weight from one side over to the other,
05:47particularly through sequences like that, turns five and six, also through turn 12 and 13.
05:52You really do have to use plenty of energy, plenty of muscle strength just to maneuver these motorcycles
05:57from one side to the other, which is a challenge whatever climate you're racing in.
06:01Do a cracking job this though, isn't he right now, Acosta?
06:04He's only ever had six double podiums in his previous 50 and more Grand Prix starts in the top class.
06:42Well, we just saw there we'd have a little bit of a pause for you watching at home just to
06:45listen to Pedro Acosta's KTM screaming down the backstrait
06:50as he hit almost 340 km an hour in top gear.
06:53You just saw there a perfect illustration of how different the lines or how many multiple line options you have
06:59going into that breakings over turn 15
07:01and how different riding styles and different bikes will come into play.
07:05We saw there Alex Marquez on the Ducati, faring a slightly wider sweeping line.
07:10There was Acosta there with a stopping performance of the KTM, darting to the inside, but it was still Alex.
07:16It looked like, didn't it, at one stage that Acosta was going to actually make the move on the inside,
07:20but Alex just getting the better exit with that wider sweeping line.
07:23Alex Marquez is managing, he's in danger of overdoing it.
07:26It looks like potentially starting to struggle here already on lap eight at 20.
07:30He's the slowest rider in the top five, and there's now a bit of a queue forming up behind the
07:3573.
07:36This is Acosta leading that queue, but Marco Betzecchi and Ayagura are also firmly in touch,
07:41which could become a four-way battle for second place.
07:44Just saw there a shot of Aprilia Racing CEO Massimo Riebler in the factory Aprilia garage.
07:49He's occupying the seat of Jorge Marti, who sadly is missing from this Grand Prix, of course,
07:54after his fractured right wrist in the Phillip Island sprint eight days ago.
07:58They need something big from Bez, don't they, in the second half of this Grand Prix.
08:03They're going to need something special from Marco Betzecchi.
08:05Paolo Benora, pretty racing team manager, spoke to Jack just before this race on the grid,
08:10and said it was a must, it was essential, absolutely imperative for Bez to somehow find a way to beat
08:17Marco Betzecchi.
08:18Well, that is a thankless task at the moment, Betzecchi has to find something extraordinary in the second half of
08:24this Grand Prix.
08:25Well, he's closed in on the back of this battle for second place, though.
08:28It's very much a four-way fight, it was a two-way fight a couple of laps ago.
08:32And Pedro Acosta, if you want to win this Grand Prix, you might have to get on with this and
08:36make a move on Alex Marquez ASAP,
08:39as he nearly runs into the rear tie there of Alex Marquez.
08:42Of course, Alex so, so good at a braking, as good as Acosta is, can't brake late enough from there
08:46to make any sort of move on the 73.
08:49Bagnaya's nightmare Sepang experience is showing no signs of easing any time soon.
08:54He's been pushed out of the points-going place on that last lap. Jack Miller got him, so now out
09:00of the points is Peko Bagnaya.
09:02Into the final points-going place goes the Aussie Miller Bagnaya.
09:07He must have, well, he made a mistake, clearly, because he did a 2.03.152.
09:12That was exactly three seconds behind his teammate, Marc Marquez, although Bagnaya was one of the riders that yesterday said,
09:18in the sprint, his soft rear tie was completely wrecked after three laps.
09:23Dwan Mir's coming to the pits. I saw his name drop down the order at the start of this lap,
09:27but just outside our Coventral's window, looking at Mir on the factory Honda, coming up the pit lane.
09:31Of course, he's returning to action this weekend after an illness absence.
09:35Of course, we don't know at this stage, well, I'm sure Jack will be on the case to find out
09:38whether that's physical or mechanical,
09:40but Dwan Mir's race looks to be over.
09:42Yeah, this was his first race start in a Grand Prix, a full Grand Prix since September the 13th.
09:48He missed Austria, he missed Mattei, Mandelica, and Philippe Ireland with stress-related vision and fatigue issues.
09:54And here comes Acosta. Well, he's been setting this one up, hasn't he, for a few laps now.
09:59He's going to have the inside line, nothing Alex Marquez can do as they turn into the fast right-hand
10:03of turns 10 and 11.
10:05So, right at the halfway point there, lap 10 of 20 here in Malaysia. Finally, Acosta has worked his way
10:13through on Alex Marquez.
10:14Can Marco Beczeki now do the same with his World Championship hopes fading fast?
10:19He needs to try and make some early progress here, but the earliest available opportunity to take Alex Marquez.
10:25And you know that Alex is going to make life as difficult as possible for the Aprilia.
10:30Alex Marquez has spoken frequently since he first fractured his right collarbone.
10:35That horrible crash with Pedro Acosta in Catalonia a few rounds ago.
10:40He just has not been able to get himself back to anywhere near like full fitness.
10:44He said yesterday we saw after his crash a massive ice pack on his right shoulder.
10:48He's having to take a huge amount of painkillers before every sprint, every Grand Prix.
10:53It's been a real, a torturous second half of the campaign for Alex Marquez.
10:57You do just wonder whether Alex is suffering a little bit with fading grip from those Michelins, which has to
11:04be a factor.
11:04But also you just wonder as well whether sort of the stresses, the strains of trying to race at the
11:11top level with that under par right shoulder.
11:14He's just started to take his toll on Alex right now.
11:17The slowest rider in the top ten at the moment did a 2-0-1, 5-5-5.
11:21Last time around course not held us by this.
11:23The battle he had with Pedro Acosta who's not only passed him, but immediately gapped him.
11:28He's moved six tenths of a second up the road from Alex Marquez.
11:31And this was of course Marco Bensecki trying to immediately seize third place,
11:35but just couldn't quite turn that Aprilia tight enough through Turn 14.
11:38So what can Pedro Acosta then now do about a 1.8 second gap to our leader Mark?
11:46Now let's go and get an update from Jack on the Juan Mir's retirement.
11:49Yeah, unfortunately for the Mallorcan he's pulled in reporting that he just wasn't feeling well on the bike at all.
11:55It looks as though those health issues that saw him miss the last four Grand Prix's have come back and
11:59hurt him here.
12:00Yeah, thanks Joe. That's a real shame isn't it?
12:02Not what we want to hear at all about the 29-year-old Spaniard of 2020 by the GP World
12:08Champion.
12:10Decided that he was back close to something like his 100% best after those stress-related fatigue issues.
12:17But the toughest place that he could have picked to return after those chronic tiredness issues, wasn't it?
12:23This Malaysian Grand Prix and he saw just got a little bit too much for Juan Mir.
12:27No rider wants to quit on their storm, no rider wants to pit early in the Grand Prix.
12:33You just know, I mean, these are the toughest souls on planet Earth.
12:36They ride injured, they ride beaten up so, so many times.
12:40And Juan Mir obviously just felt like he wasn't taken to continue in these extreme temperatures.
12:45Of course you've posed danger not only to yourself but also to the other riders on the racetrack.
12:50Juan Mir taking a sensible decision there for his health and for everyone else on track.
12:56Pedro Acosta in empty tarmac while he's matching Marc Marquez for pace.
13:01Was within a tenth of a second of Marc's pace at the moment.
13:03That lead around two seconds at the moment, which is quite a hill to climb.
13:08But just imagine from Pedro Acosta's point of view, if he wants his first double in MotoGP,
13:13he's got the incentive up ahead of him of trying to chase down the rider who he will be teammates
13:18to at Ducati next year.
13:20Through four Marc goes and right now he is producing a ride which shows why he is arguably the greatest
13:28of all time.
13:29This has been nothing short of absolutely sensational.
13:32He's still pretty much every lap the fastest rider out on circuit to establish that near two second lead.
13:39This is going to be the biggest stride he has made all season towards world title glory.
13:45It's been a truly brilliant performance by Marc and he has not put a single foot wrong.
13:51Made the perfect start from second on the grid, seized the lead over brother Alex at the first corner.
13:56Briefly lost it then he on the run up to turn four but from that point onwards from turn four
14:02on lap one.
14:03This has been classic exhibition masterclass stuff from Marc Marquez.
14:10Hasn't been the perfect weekend for Marc Marquez though so far this weekend.
14:13He did have a crash at turn 15 on Friday afternoon.
14:16He did have a bit of a moment right here in qualifying yesterday which arguably certainly Marc would argue cost
14:22him tall position.
14:23Of course in these punishing conditions with the pressure on the shoulders.
14:28Even a rider like Marc Marquez with everything that he's won in his career is well aware of the gravity
14:33of what we can achieve this season.
14:36So that will potentially just keep one or two butterflies in the stomach of the reigning world champion as he
14:41runs right out front.
14:42And stands right now Marc will be taking another sizable 12 points out of Marc Ovecetti and Aprilia in the
14:50hunt for title glory this year.
14:51That would see a bears slip 64 behind Marc going to Qatar next weekend.
14:58Of course it would be then a 44 point gap between Jorge Martin and Marc on the sale international circuit.
15:05And the maths are very simple. We knew the equations before this Grand Prix.
15:10A win or second would tee up Marc for that first match point.
15:13If he leaves Qatar next weekend with a 74 point advantage over Jorge Martin or Marc Ovecetti or whoever it
15:22is closest to him then he will be crowned 2026 world champion.
15:27And he will just like 2025 completed another sensational comeback having been over 100 points behind Ovecetti after the Italian
15:36Grand Prix in Mugello.
15:37It's Pedro Acosta trying to make the comeback this afternoon at this stage. The gap hovering at just over two
15:42seconds.
15:43He's put a good second now near enough between himself and Alex Marquez.
15:47And Alex, his MO, his target, the remaining main laps of this Grand Prix will surely be to try and
15:54hang on to that podium position.
15:55But Alex will be well aware that the rider behind him trying to chase their plays, that's Marc Ovecetti of
16:00course.
16:01Basically, he's at the point of no return now in his World Championship battle. He has to make a move
16:05and he has to make it quick.
16:08Acosta, I'm not saying he looks scruffy or he looks a little bit messy, but you can see he's having
16:13to work really, really hard for his lap times on that KTM.
16:16Yet he's still three tenths of a second slower than Marc, who just looks like at the moment you get
16:21two two zero zero threes, two zero zero fours.
16:24For fun, there's just nothing at the moment that's knocking Marc out of that sort of range, just outside of
16:30the two-minute barrier.
16:31And Vesecki just has not been able to. He had one little nibble, didn't he, Alex Marquez, three or four
16:36laps ago at Turn 14.
16:39Since Alex was able to strike immediately back on the exit, Vesecki's been stuck in that fourth place.
16:44Interested to see these lap times, though, as Vesecki goes wide into Turn 15, because Acosta's having a good crack
16:49at this, on this lap, a two zero zero six for Marc Marquez.
16:52Pedro Acosta has just taken four tenths of a second out of him. Now Marc Marquez does have still a
16:57comfort zone of around two seconds, as Diogo Moreira has now crashed out at the final corner, out of picture.
17:03His name dropping down on the left-hand side of your screens. Marc Marquez might yet get a bit of
17:07a warning on his pit board from Ducati, but Pedro Acosta is still not giving up on this.
17:11He's so, so good, though, isn't he, at managing these situations. You just wonder whether Marc has just thought, OK,
17:17I'm two seconds up the road, I can just now back off, I can just keep a bit of energy.
17:22He doesn't need to expend any more energy than is necessary as Diogo Moreira dropping gravel all down the start
17:29-finish rate.
17:31I'm not sure that's one of the smartest moves that the rookie's made so far this year, with a bit
17:36of bodywork and rocks and stones being dumped all over the start-finish line.
17:40It's been a damaging half a lap for Bez this, because he made that mistake into Turn 15 at the
17:45end of the last lap, and he's now fallen closer to Agoura than he is to Alex Marquez.
17:51I'm sure Agoura won't be launching a particularly Larry move on Marco Betzechi, given what's at stake for Aprilia, but
17:59Betzechi, who's been right behind Alex Marquez for quite some time now,
18:02of course Acosta passed him a good three or four laps ago, Betzechi now in danger, potentially, of running into
18:08some front tyre pressure problems, having not made that decisive move yet on Alex.
18:12If the ship was hitting rocky waters for Marc on the last lap, he has fedded the ship on this
18:17current lap, because straight away, out of nowhere, he's taken 2.2 seconds out of Acosta, so he's gained already
18:25on this lap about 4.10.
18:26It does look like maybe he just eased off ever so slightly. He's done this before, hasn't he? He rolls
18:32out of it just for a couple of laps, just to sort of let the rider behind him think,
18:38I've got a chance here, then they start getting their head down and pushing more, maybe pushing over the limit,
18:42and then they start making mistakes.
18:44It's all part of the evil genius, isn't it, of Marc Marquez? He lulls you into mistakes, just as he
18:50really did with Hoy Martin in the last weekend's sprint in Philippe Island.
18:54He's well on course here. Marc Marquez, so far this season, has six Grand Prix podiums. They have all been
19:01victories.
19:02He's looking to keep that incredible record going here this afternoon. It could be seven Sunday podiums, seven Sunday wins.
19:10Marco Boccechi still then around about half a second back from Alex Marquez.
19:14It's, I guess, showing the different strengths and weaknesses of Ducati versus Apridia,
19:18because Benz sort of closes in through up into the fourth sector, and then Alex just pulls away from him
19:22again in that final sector.
19:24It must be so frustrating for Marco Boccechi in this situation, given that he knows the urgency of the situation
19:30he's in,
19:30but try as he might, so far he can't do anything about Alex Marquez, and he's now got his hands
19:35full with Ayagura.
19:39Yeah, Ayagura said yesterday there's been no instructions, there's been no orders from Apridia hierarchy for him to protect or
19:47help Marco Boccechi in any shape or form
19:50throughout the race action here this weekend. Just looking at the gap between Mark and Pekka Boccechi, the two factory
19:56Ducati's.
19:57There's a massive chasm between the two. 22 seconds, Boccechi sits behind Marcus Agura, charges in hot behind Marco Boccechi,
20:06which will just send a few hearts fluttering inside both Apridia camps.
20:11Yeah, I really thought that situation couldn't get any worse, that would have made it worse if Ayagura had just
20:16steamed up the rear tyre of Marco Boccechi.
20:18There are only two Apridias that started this Malaysia Grand Prix, and the last thing Rivola, Bonora, and of course
20:25Brivio down at Trackhouse in Co. won, is for the two of them to take each other off.
20:302.8 seconds now is Mark's advantage.
20:34Jürgen Moreira has pitted on his crash-damaged LCR Honda as he was down the road here a couple laps
20:41ago at Turn 15.
20:43Yeah, Marco Boccechi, at the moment it looks more likely that he's going to lose foreplace rather than gain third
20:51place, doesn't it?
20:52There's Massimo Rivola at Luxon once again prompting to Jorge Martins' seat.
20:59And watching here, Marc Marquez inflict more maximum punishment on the Indiwali factory.
21:06Live Construct the Championship as well.
21:08The Cattie will be in control.
21:10I mean, at one stage it looked like a Pridibug and a romp to the team's championship, the Construct the
21:16Championship, and the Ryder Championship.
21:18They might as yet lose out on all three because of one Ryder, one man, his name is Marc Marquez.
21:25Yeah, they're certainly going to lose out potentially on two.
21:27They are comfortably clear in the team's championship, a good hundred points clear.
21:31The Factor Ducati team, Peko Banaya's obvious struggles, might just dig Aprilia out of that particular hole.
21:37But the story of the 2026 season hasn't it? We've said it several times this year.
21:41It's been Marc Marquez versus Aprilia.
21:43The sheer strength of will and talent of Marc Marquez versus what I think by common consensus would be the
21:51fastest motorcycle in MotoGP this season.
21:53And certainly it would appear at the moment on this particular day.
21:56It's the talent of the human on Volvat Ducati, the superhuman Marc Marquez, which is making the difference.
22:02It's the talent of the Tardopsi, Factor Ducati boss, which we just saw there briefly on screens.
22:06He hit the nail on the head last weekend in Philippi when he said 50 points was the advantage between
22:12Marc and Bez coming into this Malaysian Grand Prix.
22:14He said 50 points is nothing. Marc Evesecki has the potential to win all four remaining Grand Prix's.
22:20We're not ruling Bez out of the equation at all. But the key word he said, he goes, but we
22:25have Marc Marquez.
22:27And when you have that guy on top of your motorcycle, you have a phenomenal chance of success in the
22:34MGP World Championship.
22:36It's amazing, isn't it? For all of the money that's spent on carbon fiber, on various aero parts as Marc
22:43Marquez,
22:43this was essentially the decisive point of the Grand Prix at this stage when he took the early lead from
22:48Alex Marquez.
22:49No matter what kind of chassis, bearings, engines, aero parts, ground effect you put on a motorcycle,
22:56there is no substitute for a generational talent, which is what Marc Marquez without question is.
23:03We saw briefly on board between the Marquez boys fighting it out in the first quarter,
23:07but Alex did briefly get through, didn't he, on lap one up the hill into turn four.
23:12But that was as good as it got for Alex, who at the moment is hanging on for what would
23:18be a heroic podium.
23:19I mean, Alex will be certainly a little bit beaten up, battered and bruised after he threw himself into the
23:24gravel trap at turn 13 in yesterday's sprint.
23:27It's been a pretty impressive bounce back as now LCR Honda's day he gets from bad to worse.
23:31We've already lost Diogo Moreira, and now it looks like Joan Zarco has had a little,
23:35there's a bit of scuff marks in there on the right-hand side of his fairies.
23:38Looks like it's a technical problem for Joan Zarco, because he did start the lap in ninth place, but he
23:43did a 2.06.3 on the last lap.
23:45He'd already lost five seconds on the previous lap, and it looks like LCR are heading for a double retirement.
23:50And it looks like time today, certainly running out for Betseki and Apulia to get themselves in this podium battle,
23:57and Ogura could be inflicting some more pain here on Betseki.
24:01We're on board with the Japanese rider, sideways, Ogura goes on the track out of Kulia into turn nine,
24:06and Ogura just running a little bit too hot, just getting a little bit too impatient there.
24:12He just got the better speed, the better corner speed through seven and eight, didn't he?
24:15He had to make the move, really, on Betseki having levelled the Italian in the braking zone,
24:19but he was sideways on that rough tarmac there, that deteriorating tarmac into turn nine.
24:24Ogura just having to let the brake off and just running that little bit wide.
24:27What this tells me is that Ogura still thinks he can finish on the podium this afternoon.
24:31If he's confident enough and bold enough to make a move like that on Marco Betseki,
24:35who's still fighting for a world championship, it's clearly because Ogura thinks he's got the pace,
24:40not only past Marco Betseki, but chase up to the rear tyre of Alex Marquez.
24:44We know, don't we, historically, when it's a race of tyre management, so often the master is Ogura.
24:50It clearly shows, doesn't it, as Johan Zarco's Malaysian Grand Prix comes to a premature conclusion.
24:57It's one of his tech rose, didn't we, in the Australian sprint last weekend, as Betseki fighting with all of
25:05his might here to hang on to a fourth place.
25:07I mean, it just looks as if he's visibly, Ogura's much faster.
25:11Ogura, oh!
25:12Well, that was the one thing you weren't supposed to do.
25:14Well, it's clear, isn't it here, that I, Ogura has been given no instructions whatsoever to call the dogs off
25:20here.
25:20And there's big contact there, I think some area on the left-hand side of Ogura has been lost.
25:25And now he's going for it again on the inside of Betseki.
25:27The thing is, he's so much faster. He is so much quicker than Marco Betseki. He has to make the
25:33move.
25:33Yeah, Marco Betseki goes wide naturally, because he was on a slightly tighter line for the first corner.
25:38So, naturally, the rider who takes the wider line is then going to duck underneath you.
25:43And that would have been an almighty shock to Marco Betseki.
25:45The last rider he would have expected to have contact from today was the only other Aprilia in the race.
25:51Well, this would have been a major, major talkie. Boy, that's a proper slam.
25:55Now, a real clout there, wasn't he? Yeah, you can see Ogura has lost some aero on that track house.
26:00I mean, this was not minimal contact. This was big contact, wasn't it?
26:04Marco Betseki getting a right old shoulder barge there, wasn't he?
26:08From where Ogura was a pretty. There you can see the aero detaching itself and flying skywards.
26:13Boom! There you go. Bang! From the side of Ogura into Marco Betseki.
26:19I mean, can you imagine if Betseki had gone down there?
26:23Yeah, then that would have been pretty much terminal for his title hopes.
26:25I mean, we said yesterday in the sprint, Ogura is the most placid, mild-mannered and softly-spoken character off
26:33of a MotoGP button you will ever find.
26:35But it's the old cliche, isn't it? When the visor goes down, out comes the inner demon from Ogura.
26:41And he was so pessimistic about his chances on Friday. He was third quickest on Friday, but didn't quite know
26:47how he ended up there.
26:48We know how he's ended up in fourth place today. He's clearly just got superior late race pace for Marco
26:54Betseki,
26:55whose World Championship hopes take yet another dent, and that's not the dent that Ogura has left in his rear
27:01tyre.
27:02Yeah, I don't think April are going to have any qualms whatsoever with the fact that Ogura has surpassed Marco
27:08Betseki.
27:08It was clearly, at this late race stage, there's a massive speed differential between the pair of them.
27:14I'm sure there'll just be a little word in Ogura's ear that, you know, no problem overtaking Marco, but come
27:20on, let's make it a little bit cleaner.
27:22Yeah, what have they said? All season, race hard, but race with respect.
27:26We've already seen Trackhouse and Factory Aprilia's make contact this season.
27:30Ralph Fernandes and Jorge Martín have taken each other off already this season back in Barcelona.
27:35And in some respects, that in a nutshell is a bit of a microcosm of Aprilia
27:41and what is in danger of becoming a bit of a disintegration of their World Championship hopes
27:46as they've desperately tried to get themselves on the same page.
27:50But Marc Marquez is ripping up the entire book here on Aprilia's title challenge.
27:55And he is going to go to Qatar, isn't he, with that first match point.
28:00The massive advantage of 44 points over Jorge Martín, it's not a given.
28:04Martin was determined yesterday to say he will try and fly to Qatar to keep his title hopes alive.
28:10So if you feel like he has to, at least come and attempt to ride the Aprilia in La Salle
28:15in just five days' time in the opening practice session.
28:18Because Marc Marquez has done another number on the field here.
28:22This has been absolutely top, top draw, top, top notch.
28:25Jack, what happened to Joan Zarco?
28:27Yeah, just a sudden lack of power for the Frenchman down the start-finish straight
28:30and then his dashboard started lighting up like a Christmas tree.
28:34Huge shame for him because he was having a great ride.
28:35Yeah, a real pity that on a tough Sunday for LCR Honda.
28:40Thanks very much, Jack.
28:41One lap and one corner standing between Marc Marquez
28:45and an 80th, an 80th Mother GP victory
28:50and one of the most significant of his Grand Prix career to date
28:54because it will put him right on the brink of capturing that 8th World Championship.
28:595.54 kilometers left, 12 corners, 15 corners now standing between Marc and next weekend in Qatar
29:07where he will have that chance, that first opportunity to take back-to-back world titles on the factory Ducati.
29:14Only two previous Mother GP victories around here for Marc Marquez.
29:18It's fair to say that drama has often followed Marc Marquez around this circuit.
29:23Lost the Moto2 Championship here in 2011.
29:27Of course, 2015 has been debated to death,
29:30but Marc Marquez with a potentially seismic blow today
29:34in his quest for an 8th MotoGP World Championship.
29:38What a pretty rider, put up a good fight just to start this Malaysian Grand Prix.
29:42The other has fought hard trying to make the podium,
29:46but it looks at least today as in a previous hopes of taking another major dent.
29:51Put simply, he has been simply untouchable, simply irresistible.
29:56This has been one of the most dominant performances
29:59and we have seen this season from Marc Marquez
30:02and there's been a few of them, there's been plenty to pick from,
30:05but this is going to be his seventh Grand Prix podium of the season
30:10and it is going to be his seventh victory of the season.
30:14When he scores big on Sundays, he really does score big, does he?
30:18Another maximum 25-point haul going the way of the reigning world champion.
30:23Pedro Acosta is well on course for just his seventh ever sprint
30:27and Grand Prix podium double
30:30and Alex Marquez does look like he's going to cling on to third place here
30:34head of the heart-charging Ayagura.
30:36Yeah, Ayagura will certainly keep asking the question.
30:38He's only got two more corners though to try and take that third place away from Alex Marquez.
30:43Time against him.
30:44One corner remaining then for one special talent.
30:49One incredibly gifted rider.
30:51Basseki has lost another place to Baschini,
30:53but out of the final corner goes reigning world champion Marc Marquez.
30:57He wins here in Sepang, he wins the Grand Prix in Malaysia
31:01and he now knows that this time, next week in Qatar, in just seven days time,
31:09seven MotoGP world titles, could be eight for MotoGP's undisputed king.
31:15There you go, he'll have his first title chance in La Salle next weekend.
31:21A crushing dominant victory from Marc Marquez and the factory Ducati.
31:274.1 seconds, he finished clear.
31:30Pedro Acosta, both Marquez brothers do finish on the podium.
31:34There was some serious late pain more than there for Marc Abesecki.
31:37Insults of injury here.
31:38He got passed by Agura.
31:39He got passed by Bastianini.
31:41After on the last lap, he runs wide, going into turn 14.
31:47A key, key late mistake.
31:48More points go begging for Bears.
31:51Marini takes a brilliant seven.
31:52The top tens with the Jalancionio, Binder, Morbidelli.
31:55Point for Quattroa Rins, Bagnaia, Vinales and Lecuona.
31:59He could ill afford mistakes.
32:01He could ill afford unforced errors, couldn't he, Marco Abesecki?
32:05He made one on the last lap.
32:06And there is that a face of resignation from Aprilia Racing CEO, Massimo Rivola.
32:13It's not over.
32:14It is not game over in terms of the championship,
32:17but Aprilia's mountain has just got even bigger, hasn't they?
32:21Hoy Martin, 44 points behind Marc Marquez, going to Qatar next weekend.
32:2774 is the magic number that Marc needs to be leading at the Aprilia's clear after Qatar next time out.
32:35And we will once again be hailing Marc as the MotoGP World Champion.
32:40That was some, some ride here in Sepang.
32:43He's not there yet.
32:45A major, major step towards an eighth world title.
32:49But it does feel like a decisive glow.
32:52The face of Massimo Rivola told us more than anything we could say to you.
32:56From the commentary box here.
32:58Insult to injury on the last lap for Marco Abesecki.
33:02Insult for Aprilia to the injury of Jorge Martin coming into this weekend.
33:07And Marc Marquez was certainly not going to let them off the hook today.
33:10Andra Acosta, another brilliant weekend from KTM's leading light.
33:17KTM star performer once again.
33:20And Aabastiunini did eventually take the checkered flag in fifth place.
33:25A strong fifth place, that, from the Beast.
33:28One of his better Sunday performances because he was fourth at the checkered flag in the recent Japanese Grand Prix.
33:36But Acosta, superb on the KTM once again.
33:41But Marc Marquez, how does he keep on doing it?
33:45It was a few weeks ago.
33:46His doctor reported that that recovering right arm only working at 50% of his capacity.
33:53Davide Todd Oxy said last weekend in Philippe Island.
33:56We have Marc Marquez and that is such a key weapon.
34:00Let's get the thoughts from the Ducati boss with Jack right now.
34:03Davide, we shouldn't be amazed at this stage at what Marc's capable of doing.
34:07But once again, an unbelievable ride to take victory at the most opportune moment.
34:12And now next weekend, the championship in touching distance.
34:15Yeah, I think that Marc did a fantastic race.
34:18He was so clever since the beginning.
34:20Fast.
34:21He was managing the perfect way the rear tyre.
34:23We saw that in the end I had several problems.
34:27But, yeah, I think that we can really say that he's one of the most important riders ever.
34:35Can you believe, from four or five months ago where Marc was,
34:39that now the championship could be won next weekend?
34:41Yeah, we know.
34:42But we know Marc's head.
34:45We know how he trusts, how he pushes us, the team to believe in it.
34:51And it was the first.
34:53Gigi and the engineers did the same.
34:55And I think that that's the most important thing.
34:58How the rider is close to the team.
35:01Congrats, Davide.
35:01Thank you.
35:03There you saw the maths for Marquez.
35:05If he scores 30 points more than Jorge Martín next weekend
35:10or eight points more than Marco Betsechi next time out in Qatar.
35:14The World Championship.
35:16Which seemed a distant dream.
35:19Seemed like so unlikely, didn't it?
35:21Just a few months ago.
35:22Look how he's celebrating.
35:23Look what it means to him.
35:24The most part of the GP wound is creeping ever closer, isn't he?
35:27To Valentino Rossi.
35:29You see Rossi and Marquez.
35:30His names next to each other.
35:32You just immediately go into a time capture back to 2015 here in Sepang.
35:36But this is the most sort of vociferous celebration we've seen from Marc in recent weeks.
35:43He knows.
35:44He knows.
35:45He knows right now that he's taken a huge step forward.
35:48There is the heart-shaped signal with the hands to brother Alex further down the barrier in park firma.
35:54He said pre-weekend after Jorge Martín's Phillip Island injury was in his hands.
35:59Well, right now there is one hand and four fingers wrapped firmly around that Tower of Champions.
36:04Which surely now is going once again back to Ducati and the one and only Marc Marquez.
36:11Looked like girlfriend Gemma was on the phone there on FaceTime to Marc Marquez's father Juliel who is just off
36:18with the sunglasses just behind the fence there.
36:22And Marc knows, of course, it's a feeling that he's still not getting tired of despite the fact that this
36:27is MotoGP victory at number 80.
36:31He is obsessed with winning in MotoGP.
36:34Turning up for competing is not enough for Marc Marquez.
36:38He doesn't turn up unless he feels he can win and win once again he has.
36:45And in such dominant and devastating fashion.
36:50What a performance. I mean, I think even there you can see the reaction of his factory Ducati crew.
36:54I don't think they can quite believe what they've just witnessed.
36:58Something once again super special from a super special talent, isn't it?
37:03Pedro Acosta embraces Marc.
37:04What an intriguing mouth-watering prospect it will be to see those two fight each other in the factory Ducati
37:11galleries next year.
37:12Thumbs up then once again from Marc Marquez.
37:14The beaming smile from Ducati Corsa technical guru Gigi Delinia.
37:19What a partnership. What a combination those two have produced.
37:24This was Marc Marquez in cruise control out of turn 11 he goes.
37:29A long, long look over his left shoulder where he would have not seen anybody because Pedro Acosta was over
37:35four seconds adrift.
37:37This was the realization. This is where it would have started to sink in here for Marc Marquez.
37:42As he edges himself closer to a world championship fight that he completely ruled himself out of a few weeks
37:51ago.
37:51After the Italian Grand Prix in Mugello, when Marco Betsecki won, he was 102 points back.
37:56But now he is so, so close to glory once again.
37:59Alex Marquez then third here in that Malaysian Grand Prix.
38:02He's absolutely shattered isn't he Alex?
38:04Let's get his thoughts with Jack.
38:06Alex, we can see just how much that's taken out of you in these grueling conditions.
38:10It's not the win you wanted, but your love affair with this place continues with another podium.
38:15Just what is it about this venue, these fans, a record crowd today of nearly 200,000 that you love
38:21so much?
38:21Yeah, it was difficult. I mean, so hot and I know it before the race that it was difficult to
38:29put the intensity of the race.
38:31So for that reason in the beginning I was a little bit more calm behind Marc.
38:34But it was difficult. But anyway, I'm happy with the third.
38:37It was the maximum today. Thank you to the team that they built again the bike from yesterday that was
38:42destroyed.
38:43And send the best wishes and from my heart all the, from my heart, you know, all the condolence for
38:50Spain.
38:50Great job to that. Thank you.
38:53Well, Alex said yeah there didn't he yesterday after he destroyed his Ducati in the sprint.
38:58Thanks to his grueling mechanics. Well, he is destroyed himself, isn't he?
39:01After 20 of what looked like some of the toughest laps of Alex's Grand Prix career.
39:05I mean, Alex is super fit. He trains every single hour that he possibly can.
39:14But you can just see there the toll is taken on Alex at the end of that 20 lap Grand
39:17Prix here.
39:17That was some third place. He had to work really, really hard for it, didn't he?
39:21Well, Marc Marquez, of course, showing his thoughts and his prayers towards all the victims of the tragic train flash
39:29in Spain earlier on this week.
39:32The black ribbon emblazoned on the Spanish national flag.
39:36He stands on the seat of his factory Ducati.
39:40And he stands once again on the cusp of more mother GP world title success.
39:46Pedro Acosta, a brilliant weekend for Acosta.
39:48He won the sprint yesterday. It's another double podium for the Spanish rider.
39:52Acosta talking to Jack.
39:55Well, Pedro, nobody can ever question your effort.
39:57You've given absolutely everything today.
39:59What a weekend in the end. Sprint victory yesterday.
40:01Second today. Just sum up your emotions.
40:04Yeah, we try our best at the end. Alex was super fast at the beginning.
40:07Either he was a bit more fast in the straight that made me even more difficult to try to make
40:11a pass.
40:12But anyway, P2 again, so happy for the boys.
40:14We are making a great end of the season for my last season in KTM for this weekend go.
40:18And this will only help for the future. Top job. Thank you boys.
40:24Yeah, he did produce a top effort there, didn't he? Pedro Acosta.
40:29When you look at where some of the other riders on KTM's are, it just goes to show.
40:33What he's squeezing out of himself on an RC16 to get himself into podium contention.
40:41That was the key move he made then at turn nine on Alex Marquez.
40:45He was fighting the top speed of that Ducati ahead of him.
40:48This was a class move, wasn't it? Coming from a long, long way back.
40:53You've got to have a lot of trust in your front tyre, a lot of trust in yourself as well
40:56there, to make a move like that into that tight left-hander.
41:00Acosta, absolutely brilliant. As you can see there, Agura going wide.
41:05And there, Basti Unini congratulating his KTM stable mate after the beast took the checker flag in a hard-earn
41:12fifth place.
41:13Capitalising on that late last lap mistake from Marco Betsechi, which could prove so, so decisive in the final reckoning.
41:20Mark Marquez then is going to come and speak to Jack.
41:234.9 seconds slower than last. He won't care one bit though, will he?
41:27Because right now then, Mark Marquez, after his victory here in Malaysia, stands on the brink of his eighth-man
41:32-a-GP world title.
41:33Your race winner here in Sepang, Mark Marquez with Jack.
41:36Mark, a phenomenal performance. Third victory of your career here in Malaysia.
41:40Today in front of an unbelievable atmosphere, a record crowd. Just tell us what it means to win here.
41:45And of course now, next weekend, we head to Qatar with you having the chance of winning this world championship.
41:52I mean, when is the day, it's the day. And you must do.
41:56And I was super concentrated during all the weekend. From FP1, I go out like a time attack.
42:02And then try to find the limits on the practice, because as I say, it's time to take a risk.
42:06We did it and we did a perfect race, so super, super happy.
42:11But my mentality still cannot change. Keep focused, keep pushing.
42:16And not many races to go, but many moments to go. So we must be super concentrated.
42:20Congratulations.
42:21Thank you.
42:23Congratulations.
42:24It's probably a high practice when I think I'm going to go.
42:25He said.
42:26Come 3 to practice 1 on Friday.
42:28And it just feels like this has been the Marquez mode of late, doesn't it?
42:31He wins right of the race and he wins his 80th Mother GP race.
42:36There's been that laser focus, that hyper focus from Mark over the last few weeks or so.
42:42That's the feeling of relief when he knows that once again
42:48there's another comeback loading, another comeback in coming.
42:51Since Davide Tardotts, he said surely he must be acknowledged
42:54as one of the greatest of all time.
42:57Those fans certainly think he is the GOAT.
43:01I mean Alex Marquez there can barely summon the strength, can he?
43:04To congratulate his brother Mark.
43:07From the very first lap of free practice1 then,
43:10Продолжение следует...
43:40But injuries are a part of the game.
43:42Mark Marquez knows that as well as anybody in MotoGP.
43:45It is injuries that put him 102 points back in the first place in the World Championship.
43:52So Mark Marquez knew full well that he had to be laser-focused.
43:56He couldn't allow himself to get sort of swept up by the Ferrari surrounding Jorge Martín and Aprilia.
44:04He had a job to do and once again he did it in expert fashion.
44:11Yeah, a thoroughly accomplished and polished performance, wasn't it?
44:16From Mark and me, he said it himself.
44:17It was nigh on the perfect weekend.
44:20That one is a thing, huh?
44:25Silly with a light red light one.
44:27That one is that?
44:28That one red light?
44:29That one is that?
44:30That one is something special or not?
44:32That one is a bit of luck.

51:00СПОКОЙНАЯ МУЗЫКА
51:1980 times a MotoGP race winner
51:23and now potentially 8 times a MotoGP world champion.
51:31As mentioned, the riders had a respect for the victims
51:34of the tragic train crash in Spain a few days ago.
51:39The riders, an all-Spanish podium,
51:41will not be marking their top three here in Sepang
51:45with any Prosecco celebrations.
51:48But Marc Marquez...
51:51Well, he's always found a way to win.
51:54He's always found a way to build world championship campaigns,
51:58even when the odds seem insurmountable,
52:01even when the odds seem so heavily stacked against him.
