US midterm elections 2026 early voting has smashed records, with more than 50 million ballots already cast.
More than 50.5 million Americans had voted early by Saturday morning, according to the University of Florida's Election Lab — nearly 5 million more than the entire early vote in 2022. Texas alone has passed 7 million early votes. In states that track party registration, registered Democrats lead Republicans 10.7 million to 7.8 million, though registration does not show how anyone voted. Control of Congress in the final two years of Donald Trump's second term is at stake when voters go to the polls on Tuesday, November 3.
