00:00who is the pretty boy in pretty boy a pretty boy is like 16 years old yeah and pretty boy
00:06was one
00:06of the really first songs we were so young yeah it's almost like i feel like we didn't have any
00:13boy interests yet you know oh we did okay we did i remember everything
00:23hi marit and marion i'm rachel from pep.ph we want to congratulate you first
00:29for your upcoming global tour too so how do you feel about what was supposed to be a reunion
00:37concert paved the way for anyone well we're uh very excited that we get to come and play in manila
00:46again because the manila concert we had last year was i think my favorite concert like my whole life
00:56it was amazing to stand there for so many people it's like 10 000 people singing and
01:01and the and the thought that we get to do it again it's like wow yes we thought so soon
01:08what do you love most about your experience here in the philippines did you get to
01:14tour the last time you were here well we got some time off last time we got to see more
01:22of
01:22the philippines we also went to davao city and cebu and in cebu we had some vacation i had some
01:29vacation as well which was nice so uh uh yeah but now we get to hopefully see more of manila
01:36because
01:36we'll be more more days there yeah right so can you share with us what your fans can expect from
01:45your new door too well one of the most magical things about getting so many people in the same
01:52room last time was that you know we got to um celebrate the reunion of our band and but also
02:01together with everyone there in the room it felt like they were having their own reunion you know
02:05with the song each other it was so beautiful so there will be elements of that celebrating the past
02:12um but we're also bringing some new songs on this tour um and some surprises always um and um yes
02:22i
02:22think it'll be a very fun very fun night yeah wow so will this new songs showcase more of your
02:30individualities like from the years that you've been apart or more of m2m the brand that we've all come to
02:39know this is their m2m songs for sure i think you know the power of m2m are superpowers that we
02:48combine to bring distinct songwriters um but we bring our forces together and it becomes this
02:54whole unique sound you know um so that's really fun to play around with so yeah it will you know
03:01it
03:01will be the m2m sound but of course now we're older and it's you know it will be 2027 so
03:10uh yeah
03:10my gosh you've done a lot of hit songs during your time and how do you feel that even after
03:20like
03:20two decades more than two decades a lot of people still um love your music i mean a lot of
03:28people
03:28watched her concerts last year we're we're very lucky uh that people kept our music alive because
03:37uh it took us you know over 20 years to have this comeback and you know people could have forgotten
03:45us and forgotten our songs so we're so lucky that it's still you know they kept it so alive and
03:52that
03:52is also going from generation to generation and we see that young people also love our music it's like
03:59every songwriter's dream eventually yeah yeah yeah um can you take us back to that moment when you
04:08were just teens as a sex a worldwide successful duo i mean what's the biggest lesson that you've learned
04:17from that run do you want to go yeah i think like the biggest lesson for us was uh to
04:28stay true to
04:29ourselves and uh and also you know the two of us you know that we always you know had to
04:36be connected
04:36and talk to each other and not let all the noise around disturb everything um so that's like our number
04:44one rule now that we always have to talk to each other and um yeah so i think that was
04:51really the
04:52the biggest lesson yeah yeah how about you marion yeah i agree with that a hundred percent i also think
05:00like um collectively as a band like shutting out the noise concentrating on what we think is fun you know
05:09the power of um of our joint um forces and also what happens to a song and like we know
05:20when we
05:21release something that we love it but the feeling of like experiencing together for the first time
05:26releasing music and for it to fly um in this capacity for that many years it's like i mean it
05:34set the ground
05:34for everything we've done after solo careers on both sides and yeah important lesson if you have to
05:43pick among all the songs that you've made which one is your favorite and why oh impossible yes it's
05:52impossible to answer what's your favorite today well yeah you know but we have really felt that the
06:00the day went away has become uh you know the reunion song yeah it's something you know with the lyrics
06:08that really fit you know i've been lonely since the day a day went away and it fits you know
06:15with our
06:15experience like the two of us but also with the audience and the fans yeah so i feel like that
06:21song
06:21it's like yeah it's it's a good song the the meanings change now yeah yeah it's not just about a
06:28boy
06:29or a special person like a romantic person but more of the feeling of about your dad
06:38yeah become bigger yeah yeah yeah how about you married which one is your favorite just one or like
06:47some on top your top of mind choice for today i think i'll have to say don't say you love
06:53me
06:54just because it it was the song that changed everything for us you know you were a completely
06:59unknown band from from oslo norway um that song opened up so many amazing adventures for us and it led
07:09to like everything that happened after i think um and still it just it's so much fun to play i
07:15think it's
07:16great writing um yeah i'm proud of that song to this day oh my gosh and some of our fans
07:25from um our team
07:27were asking like who is the pretty boy in pretty boy can you still remember the inspiration behind that
07:36well well actually now the pretty boy is my son so the lyrics also changed you know for in that
07:46song
07:46so when we sing the song now i think about my son and it's more about almost a mother singing
07:53to her son
07:54and also a lot of fans have told us that their mother used to sing the song to them before
08:01they went
08:01to bed yeah so it's almost become like a lullaby uh but at the time when we were young it
08:08wasn't
08:08actually about a specific boy no no it was just no there's so many boys a pretty boy is like
08:20and pretty boy was one of the really first songs we were so young yeah it's almost like i feel
08:27like we
08:27didn't have any boy interests yet you know oh we did okay we did i remember everything
08:35so you just really um enjoyed the whole experience of you know touring around the world at that time
08:42so for my last question what's the inspiration behind the songs that you're making now for tour
08:48or for two well we are um still using songs to investigate relationships and the world
08:56um now for this chapter we're also investigating our relationships um and um i think um yeah just
09:07trying to make sense of the world that's what we're using our writing for um but it's fun it's upbeat
09:14it's fun to play so it still takes the volume for very m2m try trying to make sure that they're
09:22very
09:23sing sing singable yeah singalogable yes because you had a lot of those um kind of songs so thank you
09:32so much for this time with pep.ph can you just invite pepsters that's what we call our readers and
09:39viewers of our online show um to watch for your concert in april 2027 yeah okay okay hi pepsters we're
09:52m2m and we're coming back to manila to play a huge concert it's uh happening on april 2nd in 2027
10:02we can't wait to see you and the tickets are out now
10:06you
