00:00:03I don't know, help me, I don't know, help me, I don't know, help me.
00:00:56I don't know, help me.
00:01:00I don't know, help me, I don't know, help me, I don't know, help me, I don't know, help me.
00:01:24Welcome to the 2026 Skate Canada International. This is the Paris event, practice group number one. This is a 30
00:01:33-minute short program practice.
00:01:49Welcome back, everyone, to Kelowna and practice day. Well, not full practice day. Competition will start at 6 o'clock
00:01:55local time here with the immense short programs.
00:01:58We take a look at the pair practice, first group taking to the ice. I'm Ted Barden, along with Joni
00:02:03McPhail and Jackie Wong.
00:02:06I thought you were going to make the Joni Rochette joke again.
00:02:09I was going there, but I think I saw her give me kind of a nasty look last time I
00:02:12did that, so I'm staying away from that.
00:02:14Actually, I'm going to tell you a funny story. I just told Jackie that my mother, my dear mother,
00:02:19has a habit of calling me by my sister's name. Now, we all know my sister is the favorite child.
00:02:23That's not an issue.
00:02:24We've just accepted it. And she's listening in New York.
00:02:26Well, she's probably not listening, but my other sister is listening.
00:02:29And I looked at her one day and I said, every time you call me by Boo's name, I'm going
00:02:34to charge you $100.
00:02:36So a couple of days later, she's talking to me and I stopped her and I said,
00:02:40just so you know, you already owe me $400 today. And I don't think she's called me by the wrong
00:02:46name since.
00:02:46Okay, that's a good one. All right. So I'm not Joni McPhail. Okay, here we go. Let's talk pairs now.
00:02:54Come on, Jackie.
00:02:57Pairs.
00:02:57You can see the start order here. Give us your rundown.
00:03:01Well, this group's, you know, the word interesting always comes up because you don't quite know what some of these
00:03:09pairs are going to do,
00:03:10but there's some really good potential skating here. We're looking at Valessi and Bidar, who are just really good pairs,
00:03:23solid pair skaters.
00:03:25Like many other of the pairs have trouble with consistency with their side-by-sides.
00:03:32Yeah.
00:03:33And if, if they put it together, they've got big potential in scoring and, you know, again, always a big
00:03:41if,
00:03:42but like that could be a thing that can get you on the podium.
00:03:45Well, you know, let's talk a little bit about the side-by-sides.
00:03:47You know, they can do the jumps individually by themselves, but it's not like synchro.
00:03:52But the point is when you're skating right beside someone, even though you know that you can see them in
00:03:57your peripheral vision,
00:03:58you're not quite sure exactly the same pattern.
00:04:01And that fact that you actually see them and acknowledge it in your brain can take you a little bit
00:04:06away from your focus.
00:04:06But as you get experience, you understand your spotlight, your, your room that,
00:04:11and you just block everything else and you do your job in that room.
00:04:14Because I did pairs for a number of years, so it took a process to sort of learn, okay, not
00:04:18well, Joanie.
00:04:21We might have to retell that story for anybody who didn't hear it yesterday.
00:04:26No, there was more to it.
00:04:28But anyways, you know, it takes a while to get comfortable with skating right beside someone,
00:04:33particularly jumping, because you don't know what's going to happen with that jump, right?
00:04:36Well, there's also the fact that, you know, most of these skaters, if not all of them, started off as
00:04:41single skaters, right?
00:04:42And so they had their own technique in jumping and spinning and everything that they do.
00:04:48And now they have to match as best as they can to somebody else.
00:04:54And it's not just the fact that they have to do that.
00:04:57It's the fact that they then have to synchronize the actual jumps.
00:05:01And we've seen many examples of skaters who are in different pairs who are not good at doing side-by
00:05:10-side jumps,
00:05:11and then they switch to a different partner, and all of a sudden it clicks.
00:05:15And it's like, oh, wait, you can jump.
00:05:17Yeah, yeah, it's just a comfort zone.
00:05:18And just, I'm not sure, obviously, the people who have Skatebug Radio will hear this,
00:05:24but I don't know how many do have Skatebug Radio.
00:05:26But the fans here coming into the building can listen to the broadcast now in practice sessions, also in competition.
00:05:33So anybody have Skatebug Radio?
00:05:36Put your hands up.
00:05:38You should have told them to clap.
00:05:40I don't see any hands up.
00:05:41No, no, nobody's got the hands up.
00:05:42Nobody's got the hands up.
00:05:43But we know that they...
00:05:44We should have some prizes.
00:05:46Yeah.
00:05:46I think that could be a whole game.
00:05:47All of a sudden all the hands go up.
00:05:49I mean, I think I need to let people know.
00:05:52When I was talking to some of the fans who were coming this morning, they were like,
00:05:56oh, can I, like, get onto the live stream and listen to you?
00:06:02I'm like, well, it's going to be like 30 seconds delayed.
00:06:05Yeah.
00:06:05So I don't think people know about the radio.
00:06:08Yeah, they sell them.
00:06:09So when they see in the program, they'll see that they sell them.
00:06:12They may not, you know, I'm not sure how they promoted it.
00:06:14Got it.
00:06:14But we always have it in every competition.
00:06:16So people can get the broadcast as well.
00:06:17So there you go.
00:06:19So we can't really advertise right now because they don't have them on.
00:06:21And even if we do, they don't have them on.
00:06:23But the antennas are set up.
00:06:23They're right here.
00:06:23The antennas are good.
00:06:24Yeah.
00:06:25So we'll see what happens on that.
00:06:33We start off with Eunoki and Taylor.
00:06:35I was very impressed with his, especially his lift and the way that he goes across the cross on the
00:06:44lift.
00:06:46His posture is really improved.
00:06:48Not that it was terrible before, but it's straighter and stronger, which you need in lifts for sure.
00:06:53So, yeah, it's, uh, we'll see how the whole program comes together.
00:06:58Look, we'll see a nice throw double loop.
00:07:04I wonder what it feels like to be thrown across the ice, have such height and such distance and how
00:07:09you measure.
00:07:10Okay.
00:07:10I need to check out right now.
00:07:11Terrifying.
00:07:12Yeah.
00:07:13I was thrown once for a waltz jump and I thought I was going to die.
00:07:19Wow.
00:07:21How far?
00:07:22Intentionally?
00:07:22Oh, intentionally.
00:07:23Okay.
00:07:23Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
00:07:25Intentionally.
00:07:25Definitely intentionally.
00:07:29And the man's job on that is really you're on a certain curve and a certain pathway is to remove
00:07:34yourself from that curve or that pathway
00:07:36and pass the lady through so that there's no sudden change of direction.
00:07:41And so it's difficult because you're wanting to really assist them as high as you can.
00:07:46And if you use too much energy in the wrong direction for it, that's going to set her off.
00:07:50But, of course, at this level, you don't see that.
00:07:52The men do well.
00:07:54What?
00:07:54Okay.
00:07:54Do you have a favorite or most spectacular throw from a pair team?
00:07:58Well, I have to say the Chinese have the biggest or have had always the biggest throws.
00:08:04But not a particular team.
00:08:06Why?
00:08:06Yeah.
00:08:07Rik and Ryuchi throw triple lutz.
00:08:09Yeah.
00:08:09The speed and the ice coverage on that, always one of my favorites.
00:08:15Well, Miyo Yonoki and Tristan Taylor, representing Canada, used to represent Japan.
00:08:20They represent Canada here now.
00:08:23Her hair is no longer pink.
00:08:25No?
00:08:26I thought it was pink.
00:08:28A little bit.
00:08:29A little bit.
00:08:29Just a little bit.
00:08:29I thought it was pink earlier in the season.
00:08:31So, might be a new change.
00:08:55Just to mention that you will see, it's not a rule, but almost every single pair team will start with
00:09:01a twist.
00:09:02And the reason for that is it takes explosive power.
00:09:05And so, rarely will you see that later in the program of a short or a free program, for that
00:09:10matter.
00:09:11So, it's always usually starting with that element.
00:09:17Oh, I did not realize this was an instrumental version of Bad Romance.
00:09:25Oh, I did not realize this was an instrumental version of Bad Romance.
00:09:32Oh, I did not realize this was an instrumental version of Bad Romance.
00:09:35Oh, I did not realize this was an instrumental version of Bad Romance.
00:09:39Oh, I did not realize this was an instrumental version of Bad Romance.
00:09:41Oh, I did not realize this was an instrumental version of Bad Romance.
00:09:43Oh, I did not realize this was an instrumental version of Bad Romance.
00:09:45Oh, I did not realize this was an instrumental version of Bad Romance.
00:09:53There are a couple elements in the pair's programs that often people ask questions about,
00:09:59and oftentimes it's the, how do you get those levels on the twist?
00:10:04And it's very systematic.
00:10:07Like, you're literally just checking things off.
00:10:10You got footwork that connects right before.
00:10:13Is the man's hands or arms below shoulder level?
00:10:20When she's in the air.
00:10:21When she's in the air.
00:10:22The split going up.
00:10:22Is there a split going up?
00:10:25Is her, is she in a difficult arm position?
00:10:29In the air.
00:10:30In the air.
00:10:31And then is a catch clean without both, without her touching him?
00:10:37Yeah.
00:10:38Basically.
00:10:38Other than the hips, he has to catch her, of course, but her hands or any other part of the
00:10:43body cannot touch his shoulders or head going down.
00:10:44And just because a part of her body touches his body doesn't mean that that is a bad GOE.
00:10:52That just means that it is a lower grade or lower level.
00:10:56Yeah.
00:10:57Right.
00:10:58And it happens so quickly.
00:10:59It's very difficult for anybody just to eyeball and say, oh, that's a level three, right?
00:11:04So it's happened so quick.
00:11:05They've tried to do that.
00:11:06But you can get a close technical panel.
00:11:09Obviously, you can see a redo.
00:11:10Yeah, and you often see the redo, the replay for the twist because it goes by so quickly.
00:11:15And the thing that oftentimes they will check on is the split going up.
00:11:22Yes, totally.
00:11:23Yes.
00:11:25We'll see more of those here.
00:11:32Yeah, we talked about AI briefly yesterday.
00:11:36Split, pike, those sorts of positions are something that could be measured, potentially.
00:11:42And we've seen that if folks are in gymnastics or watch gymnastics,
00:11:49we saw that cause havoc at the World Championships last week.
00:11:55They're going to open up, as we promised you, with a twist.
00:11:59I'm not sure they'll do it, but here it comes.
00:12:01There's steps going in.
00:12:02Watch the split.
00:12:03Hands to the side quickly.
00:12:04Looks like a three.
00:12:06Yeah, yeah, I would say.
00:12:09That's what I'd be going for, but you have to do it down in slow motion on the review.
00:12:15The next element, much like the rest of the teams, will follow with the solo jumps
00:12:19because they want to get those difficult elements out first.
00:12:21The first one, the split, because of the twist or because of the explosiveness.
00:12:27They get it done.
00:12:29Not high GOE quality, but done.
00:12:44And what really disrupts the pair program, obviously, with one of them fall,
00:12:49is getting back up and into the program, into the music,
00:12:52because you're chasing the music at that point.
00:12:54The partner has to not wait, because we see the throw.
00:12:56That's big.
00:12:57That's huge.
00:12:58That was a beauty.
00:13:00They're on this week.
00:13:01I mean, we talked about how they're a team who can be on and off,
00:13:06and obviously, with all the training disruptions that they've had,
00:13:10it can be really tough, counter-rotation on that lift.
00:13:18But they're on this week.
00:13:20Yeah.
00:13:21Now, you saw that lift.
00:13:23It, as solid as the carry and the turns were on that lift,
00:13:31it really only covered about half of the ice surface.
00:13:35So that's one of those things that they're going to get the level.
00:13:39They're going to get the level four on that lift.
00:13:42And, you know, there's a lot of good features in it,
00:13:44but the ice coverage is the part that's going to be...
00:13:46The questionable GOE or the questionable, yeah.
00:13:50And it's interesting to do that on a big curve, you know,
00:13:53it gives you a different pattern, but does...
00:13:55Is it...
00:13:55You kind of want it to cover more ice, as you just said.
00:13:58You take a look here at that.
00:14:02And the pair spin.
00:14:08And, you know, I feel if there's an element that could be removed
00:14:11from pair skating, it would be the pair spin.
00:14:13It takes a long time, and I wouldn't say it necessarily works with the music.
00:14:19A little personal opinion there, Jack.
00:14:21What's yours?
00:14:23You can see me thinking.
00:14:25Yeah.
00:14:26I like having the pair spin in there because it is an element
00:14:31that should be done as a pair, and it's difficult to do.
00:14:37I think the levels for the pair spin have made it a lot harder to watch
00:14:43because you have to do all these things in order to get to your level four.
00:14:48But the really good teams who do really good pair spins,
00:14:51those are actually really good elements.
00:14:54Yeah.
00:14:55The differentiator.
00:14:56Yeah.
00:14:57Yeah, it could be.
00:14:58I agree, though.
00:14:59I think if it's done well and they're best, they're a great element.
00:15:04But, you know, it takes a long time in a program.
00:15:07It does take a long time.
00:15:08And we talked about this yesterday.
00:15:09There's not a lot of, you know, presentation and performance in pairs
00:15:15because the elements take a long time.
00:15:19So side-by-side double axles, they're one of two teams here doing
00:15:24side-by-side double axles.
00:15:26Really far, far apart.
00:15:28You know, you wonder if that's intentional because we're not comfortable together
00:15:31or that's just a mistake because they drift, right?
00:15:37Marking that twist.
00:15:59Life without care.
00:16:01Oh, that I'm so broke.
00:16:03That's hope.
00:16:28Yeah, they've proven to be a really personable pair.
00:16:32Like, their level of engagement with the audience, with the music, I've really liked.
00:16:40I think their elements need some work.
00:16:43Well, and this music has such energy.
00:16:46And, of course, as we talked about, the elements take a long time.
00:16:48So they've really got to use a step sequence as, you know, pepping it up a little bit
00:16:52and bringing the PCs along the way.
00:16:59And for those that, you know, tracking each other, that means standing beside each other,
00:17:05keeping synchronization for the most part, if it's intentional,
00:17:08is so important, obviously, in ice dance and in pair skating.
00:17:11And those teams that are still developing might drift apart here, back and forth a little bit.
00:17:16And that does affect overall.
00:17:18But the very best teams are absolutely tight together.
00:17:30There's your better element.
00:17:33There's your pair spin.
00:17:39I mean, I would go with the fact that it's a sport and, okay, you need the sporting part of
00:17:44it.
00:17:44But I'm going, man, this is taking away from any sort of interpretation for, what, 20 seconds?
00:17:49I think that's one of the things that the IJS still has lots of room to improve on.
00:17:55And part of the whole choreographic elements, the increase of choreographic elements,
00:18:01has been to allow for more differentiation and not having to do all the stuff.
00:18:08But, yeah.
00:18:11Anna Valassi and Martin Bidar from Czechia.
00:18:22I love a matching unitard.
00:18:31There's certainly some unison within that.
00:18:37Unitard in unison.
00:18:41There we go, the twist.
00:18:43Let's watch for the split.
00:18:45Watch for the hands.
00:18:46Oh, there we go.
00:18:47Okay, watch for it.
00:18:48You're building up the excitement.
00:18:49We're not watching for it.
00:18:50No.
00:18:50This is like yesterday when we were doing the golden waltz.
00:18:53Watch for it.
00:18:54Watch for it.
00:18:54Here it comes.
00:18:55Oh.
00:18:57The next element would be the side-by-side triple saccals.
00:19:03Double axles.
00:19:03Oh, double axles.
00:19:04They have it.
00:19:05Okay.
00:19:05Yeah.
00:19:06They've changed that.
00:19:07They've changed that.
00:19:08Now, they started closer together.
00:19:10But by the time they ended, they were farther apart.
00:19:12But that's also the technique, right?
00:19:15His technique of the jump goes more forward.
00:19:19Her technique of the jump goes around.
00:19:35But even the intricacy of their choreography and the way that the two skaters kind of move
00:19:45in different ways, they're not always in the same direction.
00:19:49They're in different holds.
00:19:53You know, the way that they're doing some of this mirror skating here.
00:19:57The choreographic interest of this program is really nice.
00:20:02And here's where he excels.
00:20:07The steadiness of this lift.
00:20:08Look at his arms.
00:20:09Absolutely locked elbow.
00:20:11You cannot bend that elbow.
00:20:12And he's...
00:20:13So, go ahead.
00:20:14All the way around the corner.
00:20:34This is one of those rare pair step sequences that really actually work with the music.
00:20:40Yeah.
00:20:41Because oftentimes you just see them go down the ice to do all these turns.
00:20:46And you're like, it just completely slows down the momentum of the program.
00:20:50And this is musical.
00:20:52It's got character.
00:20:55And, you know...
00:20:55Oh, no spin.
00:20:57And no spin.
00:20:57I was just going to comment on, let's see how long the spin takes.
00:21:01Yeah, I was going to be...
00:21:01So, watch the transitions and no spin.
00:21:06Because, listen, this is a building up ending and it's a spin going...
00:21:09You know, I'm like, I don't know.
00:21:10It doesn't work as well.
00:21:12The one time that I remember seeing a pair spin that worked really well with the music
00:21:16was Duvet and Davison and their...
00:21:20Wow, good memory.
00:21:22Was it Love Story that they did?
00:21:24No, it was the way they...
00:21:26Yeah, the way we were.
00:21:27That program, they ended with the pair spin and I was like, this actually works.
00:21:32Yeah, that can work.
00:21:32And I have no problem if that works, if the spin works.
00:21:36But most often it doesn't.
00:21:37It's just a check.
00:21:39Now, that is going back into the vault, though.
00:21:41Yeah, that's amazing.
00:21:42I love that program.
00:21:46Also, I've noticed that four teams, they all marked their death spiral.
00:21:51The death spiral is one of those elements that because everybody does it
00:21:55and nobody seems to make a mistake on it, people are like, oh, that must be not that hard.
00:22:00It's hard.
00:22:01Oh, it's really hard.
00:22:02I mean, the man must keep that pivot.
00:22:03So, I mean, if that heel goes down the ice or he loses that pick pivot,
00:22:07that whole thing gets zero.
00:22:09So, it's a critical element.
00:22:12But at this level, you don't usually see a mistake on the death spiral.
00:22:16In juniors, you will.
00:22:17The mistake that you will see is the pivot not being strong enough for them to go three revolutions,
00:22:26which is what you need for a level four.
00:22:34And so, how would you describe, and here's a question for you, like, how would you describe
00:22:38or define the characteristics necessary in the woman for a pair skater?
00:22:43A complete lack of fear.
00:22:46Mm-hmm.
00:22:49Lack of fear.
00:22:49Lack of fear.
00:22:50Lack of fear.
00:22:50Absolutely.
00:22:51I hope she doesn't drive a car.
00:22:53Yeah.
00:22:53Well, on the ice.
00:22:55The love of flying.
00:22:56It's interesting watching, I find, pair skating develop because there's, in the early stages
00:23:03of skating, if girls want to do pairs, it's hard to find a boy who wants to do pairs, who's
00:23:08interested, is a strong enough skater to lift and want to learn those skills, and then that
00:23:13they match, and they train in the same place, and the coaching, and all of those things have
00:23:17to come together.
00:23:18And then, once I think the boy or the male partner gets kind of hooked into pairs, they
00:23:23love it.
00:23:24They have a great community.
00:23:25They do things, and then it tends to be the girls who drift away and, you know, go on
00:23:30with a different career or interests, or not skating, or they get tall or whatever.
00:23:36And then you have to find girls who now fit the bill, who are fearless, who have enough
00:23:42skating technique and ability, and are strong enough to do the pairs.
00:23:45So, it's early on, it switches.
00:23:48So, with that characteristic, would you say, just an open question here, would you say that
00:23:53I don't mean the boss of the team, but who is the leader in a team, the woman or the
00:23:59man?
00:24:00Now, given the fact that you have to be fearless, and you're going to be tough as
00:24:04nails as a woman pair skater, like, where does the leadership of that team, because you
00:24:09can't all be, you know, you can't both be the leader.
00:24:12There's got to be a good communication, and, you know, so go ahead, Joanie.
00:24:18I often see it as the woman is the leader, just in my experience.
00:24:25In certain things, I think there's a trade-off for some things.
00:24:28But, I think there's a full respect of, you know, what they're going to do, what they're
00:24:33going to work on, how she's feeling, and those sort of things.
00:24:37And, I think, generally, they tend to be a little bit more organized in planning and
00:24:44doing things.
00:24:45Well, and they need the gentleman to be organized, and they need to be organized, because they're
00:24:50the ones that are being flown across the ice and in the lifts, and they love it.
00:24:53They love it.
00:24:54They wouldn't be doing it if they didn't love it, right?
00:24:56But, they know it's dangerous, and they've got to be...
00:24:57Right, and I mean organized, and, okay, this is our lesson.
00:25:00This is our training plan for today.
00:25:01This is what we're going to do on the ice.
00:25:03We're going to work on this, and this is the things that we really want to address, and
00:25:06we'll do this program on this session.
00:25:09I don't know if Kirsten's disappeared, but I would say, when I watch Kirsten, I might
00:25:13for sure, Kirsten...
00:25:14Oh, no question.
00:25:16No question about that.
00:25:17Kirsten's definitely...
00:25:18Yeah, so, I don't know.
00:25:19And, I know, Jackie, you might have a different...
00:25:22But, I think that's...
00:25:23No, I agree with you.
00:25:24Jackie, can you ever imagine lifting and skating?
00:25:28I mean, lifting a partner, buck your head and skating.
00:25:29No, absolutely not.
00:25:30Absolutely not.
00:25:31And, why not?
00:25:32Because I am...
00:25:34You don't want to.
00:25:35Yeah, I don't want to.
00:25:36I also, I don't want to be responsible...
00:25:37Don't give him the answer.
00:25:38I don't want to be responsible for someone being injured, because somebody who skates with
00:25:43me will absolutely get injured.
00:25:44And so, that brings up an interesting question about the characteristics of the man, because,
00:25:48I mean, you have that woman's perhaps life, or certainly, you know, well-being, and they're
00:25:57taught, the gentlemen are taught to save under all circumstances.
00:26:00If something goes down, you get your body between your partner and the ice.
00:26:04You take the blow on the ice and let them land on you, but you not let them go to
00:26:08the ice.
00:26:09So, it's interesting, it takes that sort of characteristic for the gentlemen as well, to galvanize the team.
00:26:15I mean, how did you feel when you were a pair skater?
00:26:18Sorry for the girl.
00:26:20So...
00:26:21Yeah.
00:26:22I was a strong enough skater to feel comfortable with, you know, skating when I got her up.
00:26:29You know, that was the question.
00:26:33I never really sort of thought of that, but, you know, I wasn't strong like these guys.
00:26:38Well, I mean, the last 25 years, I would say, of pair skating men has been very different.
00:26:46It's a very different species of pair skating than it, pair skater than it was, you know, from the mid
00:26:54-90s and before that.
00:26:56Yeah, for sure.
00:26:56The, and even in just regular training, there's just so much more off-ice.
00:27:03There's so much more attention to the upper body, to fitness that we didn't have before that.
00:27:10Yeah, and the one thing is I never felt uncomfortable jumping beside the skater.
00:27:15That never bothered me.
00:27:16You see the coaches, you know, working with the teams right now.
00:27:19You know, pretty much the session is done.
00:27:20And so just going through a few items and continuing to get the feel for the ice and anything they
00:27:26want to review.
00:27:31I think communication right there.
00:27:33And it's interesting, you know, how much communication actually happens during the program.
00:27:36There are some teams that do have key words that they'll use in a program should something happen or, you
00:27:46know, I think, you know, sometimes you say, come on, let's go.
00:27:50You know, they might help each other get that energy in a program that might be suffering some mistakes.
00:27:57I mean, in the U.S., we've got Amber Glenn doing Dancing with the Stars right now.
00:28:02Yeah.
00:28:03She's been talking about how skating, dancing with someone is such a different experience because she feels like she can
00:28:12rely on someone.
00:28:13Yeah.
00:28:14Even when things are not going well or she can celebrate with someone when things are going well.
00:28:18It would be interesting to see if, I mean, she wouldn't do it, but if she said, okay, now that
00:28:21you've done this in Dancing with the Stars, would you ever consider, if you were much younger, going into Paris?
00:28:26Right.
00:28:26Because now you understand what it's like to have a partner.
00:28:29She can do side-by-side triple axles.
00:28:31Yeah.
00:28:33What's going with Star Andrews?
00:28:34Didn't she switch to Paris?
00:28:35Yes.
00:28:36And how's?
00:28:37They're going to probably make their debut at sectionals.
00:28:42Okay.
00:28:43So the U.S. Paris final.
00:28:44Because I saw a little bit when it started and then I've heard nothing.
00:28:47Yeah, I haven't seen anything.
00:28:48Yeah.
00:28:49They, I think they had been assigned to something and then they withdrew from it.
00:28:55So I think they just needed a little bit more time.
00:28:57And when I saw them at Champs Camp and Summer Sizzler, they had elements, but they weren't a pair yet.
00:29:05So that would be interesting to see how they go.
00:29:08I mean, she has to completely learn the pairs discipline.
00:29:11Totally.
00:29:12And she's such a strong single skater in that she's still going to have that in her soul.
00:29:16Yeah.
00:29:16Until that, you know, until she's had enough time with her partner.
00:29:19So it'll take a while.
00:29:21You know, watch some of these stroking drills from Valesi B.
00:29:25I mean, just watch the way that they move across the ice.
00:29:31It's...
00:29:31Their style is so in unison.
00:29:33Like, just every little...
00:29:34Their carriage.
00:29:35I keep glazing on this pair, but, like, they are just really good.
00:29:42I just, I wish they would be more consistent.
00:29:44And her wearing the unitard, it even accentuates how in unison they are in their movements.
00:29:50Very strategic and very smart.
00:30:01So curious to see how Canadian Pairs is going to evolve this season.
00:30:10With Leia and Trent being that top anchor, but then who is then underneath?
00:30:18Who's going to Worlds?
00:30:19Who's going to Four Continents?
00:30:20And that's a good battle, because even though they're still very much in development.
00:30:25I mean, they've got a lot of work to do.
00:30:26Those teams that will be fighting with those positions.
00:30:28But you want to have to fight.
00:30:31Yeah.
00:30:31We want them to be able to do that, because that's only going to get them all better in time.
00:30:35So it will be very interesting to see.
00:30:38I mean, in a lot of ways, Trent Michaud benefited from that, like, trying to get to the top, right?
00:30:44Like, he and Evelyn Walsh were always kind of number two, number three, number four.
00:30:49And then, you know, him with Leia were number one, or were number two, and then became number one, and
00:30:58then were number two.
00:30:58Like, that fight does help.
00:31:02Oh, it definitely helps.
00:31:04Oh, totally.
00:31:05It's, you know, it's stressful, but it helps you, right?
00:31:10And there's the Canadian, the other Canadian pairs are all so different.
00:31:16They all bring something so different to the table.
00:31:35That was a good number of people in the stands for this practice.
00:31:42They're ready for some skating.
00:31:43Oh, yeah.
00:31:44This is the pair of the pair of Napoleon's work, number two.
00:31:47This is the short program practice.
00:31:50You know, this is the discipline that I always feel is the most...
00:32:04I'm not going to use the right word, misunderstood or mis...
00:32:09I don't think we, I think it's hard for fans to understand the risk, the physicality of the discipline of
00:32:17pairs.
00:32:18They've seen ice dance, it's entertaining, it's very difficult, and it's incredible, the quality,
00:32:23and they understand singles skating very well.
00:32:25They understand the, wow, how big the lifts are, but the difficulty of the highest level of pair skating is
00:32:32extraordinary.
00:32:35And you're both silent.
00:32:36I will, because I kind of disagree.
00:32:38You disagree?
00:32:39Yeah, I think there's a wow factor about pairs where definitely they understand the risk more so,
00:32:47I would think, in pairs than in ice dance than in difficulty.
00:32:49What is the viewership?
00:32:50It'd be interesting to know.
00:32:51What is the viewership of all those disciplines?
00:32:53Pairs, men's, women's, men's, dance.
00:32:54Oh, it's unfortunate that the pairs is always the lowest.
00:32:59The four, yeah.
00:33:00Wow.
00:33:01Unless you're talking about Japan, which now they love pairs,
00:33:06because of the Olympic champions, Miyura Kihara.
00:33:12I mean, over the summer, Miyura Kihara basically brought together over 10 of the top pair teams in the world
00:33:23for a show in Japan that was completely sold out.
00:33:28And there were all these fans, new fans to the sport, new fans to pair skating because they won the
00:33:34Olympics.
00:33:34And I saw an article that she did that because she wanted that discipline to be promoted in Japan
00:33:40because they were not alone, but they were, you know, there's not a large number.
00:33:45Yeah, and it was unprecedented, that show.
00:33:48Like, you never see a show that's just all pairs of skaters.
00:33:51Yeah, that's cool.
00:33:51That was, the list they had of the people skating was incredible.
00:33:55But I think that type of initiative is important,
00:33:58but it also validates the point is that pair skating is maybe misunderstood.
00:34:03I'm not sure how to describe it, but it is the least popular from a viewership.
00:34:08Why is that?
00:34:08Because it's the most incredible, not the most, but it is, you know,
00:34:13because I'm not going to judge that, but it is incredible, I know.
00:34:16Yeah.
00:34:17And maybe underappreciated to certain.
00:34:19Underappreciated, absolutely.
00:34:20Maybe that's the best way to say it.
00:34:25Boy, the comfort level of Leah and Trent.
00:34:29I don't know.
00:34:30Was Trent just dancing to If I Could Turn Back Time by Cher?
00:34:35I think he tried, you know.
00:34:38One or two steps there.
00:34:41Trent.
00:34:50You see a theme of Mitrofanov.
00:34:53There are going to be a couple of really fun short programs here.
00:34:57They're doing Donna Summer's Last Dance,
00:35:00which is now becoming a very popular piece of music.
00:35:04Yes, yes.
00:35:07And we had, there were questions around whether and how Misha,
00:35:13how ready Misha was because of his knee injury over the last couple of months.
00:35:18And he looked great yesterday.
00:35:20So, let me ask you a question about clearance, rights clearance for the music.
00:35:24Oh, gosh.
00:35:25Because I can't answer.
00:35:26Well, Donna Summer, so, I mean, that had to be cleared, obviously.
00:35:29So, well, I mean, some pieces must be a real struggle and can't get cleared,
00:35:33but we're still hearing good music and a variety of big stars.
00:35:38Yeah.
00:35:38Well, in some, it's not that they can't get cleared.
00:35:40It's just at what cost.
00:35:41Yeah, at what cost.
00:35:42Right.
00:35:43Exactly, yeah.
00:35:51It was certainly one of the perils of opening up music to lyrics that I don't think the ISU understood,
00:36:01or any federation really understood that there was going to be this.
00:36:05I think that's it.
00:36:06I mean, that was a long time ago that they opened it up,
00:36:09and no one could see in the future.
00:36:10I mean, who knew all about social media and Instagram and reports and shows and, you know,
00:36:16like, no one knew that 15 years ago, right?
00:36:18So, it's, but I think it comes down to the pricing, so you can buy those rights,
00:36:24and some are very expensive, and some people may pay it.
00:36:28Yeah.
00:36:28Because it's worth it, right?
00:36:29Right.
00:36:33But I think there was a worry that that was going to shut down the sport.
00:36:37Like, what are we going to do without music, right?
00:36:39They go all back to classical music.
00:36:40But they found a way to pay the artists and, you know, to have access.
00:36:47Well, and it changed in the music industry as well on how music was getting released and out
00:36:54and who had access to it and how it was being reused.
00:36:56So, it wasn't just skating.
00:36:59It was a whole transition of the industry itself that...
00:37:02And it took years for them to sort it out.
00:37:05And for those, what was the very first internet access to music?
00:37:11Napster.
00:37:12Napster.
00:37:13Napster.
00:37:13That's it, yeah.
00:37:14And that sort of started the whole thing.
00:37:16Piracy.
00:37:17Yeah.
00:37:18But I think there's also...
00:37:20Piracy.
00:37:21There's also...
00:37:23Well, we're going to start with Michael Jackson.
00:37:26Speaking of which...
00:37:32Well, they are planning to open with a twist.
00:37:35Let's see if it happens.
00:37:36And it's one of the biggest twists that you're going to see here.
00:37:42And for those that are watching this, pay attention to the split going up
00:37:46and his hands coming down as she turns in the air way above him.
00:37:51Those are features.
00:37:52His catch of her on the hips only
00:37:55and making sure that she does not touch him on the way down.
00:37:59Let's see what happens.
00:38:03It's a little bit...
00:38:04Nope.
00:38:05No, it's not happening.
00:38:06It's a little sad that we're getting this program today
00:38:09because Thriller would have been a great Halloween program.
00:38:12Yeah, true.
00:38:14Well, I did see some minions up in the stands.
00:38:18So there are some Halloween people here today.
00:38:23They did warm up their side by...
00:38:25Nope.
00:38:25Nope.
00:38:26I know they did warm up their side by side.
00:38:29Okay.
00:38:30The thing about this pair, too, is they now have a second season of Michael Jackson program.
00:38:38But it's a different track.
00:38:41Really excited about Michael Jackson.
00:38:45You know, and it's good music, and they're a good team.
00:38:48What's the connection between the skating and the music?
00:38:51It's tough in pair skating because the element takes so long.
00:38:53So they can't really...
00:38:54We'll see whether they've got some dancing in this or not.
00:39:00You'll see a little bit of zombie dancing during the step sequence.
00:39:06Yeah, I remember.
00:39:07I did see that, actually.
00:39:08And, you know, maybe pair skating doesn't have to have connections so much with the music and performance.
00:39:13Maybe it is more of an acrobatic discipline, and that's the way it's got to stay.
00:39:18And, therefore, we'll take the pair spin.
00:39:22There it is.
00:39:23There it is.
00:39:24Now, those hands and heads are intentional.
00:39:26They're just going droopy.
00:39:28Yeah.
00:39:29They are zombies in a pair spin.
00:40:03They do a good job with really actually being with the music on this.
00:40:11Well, in some ways, the template's already been set.
00:40:14Because the dance is out there on the internet.
00:40:17They can watch it, take the features of it, and put it to the music, and make it work.
00:40:24And because people are so familiar with it, you have to.
00:40:26You have to.
00:40:27You can do something different.
00:40:29You can't do a thriller program without thriller choreography.
00:40:39And people always like that.
00:40:48I'm looking forward to see this team and how they continue to develop and grow in their connection to the
00:40:56music.
00:40:57And their performance, their posture, their skating skills.
00:41:01Now for a different mood.
00:41:02A little more serious.
00:41:09A little more serious.
00:41:18A little more serious.
00:41:20To toast this love life
00:41:27If your heart was full of love
00:41:33Could you give it up?
00:41:44To toast this love life
00:42:13To give it up
00:42:37So I have this, it's not about angels
00:42:40By Bernie
00:43:07Is this the Sandro Bezic program?
00:43:17It is
00:43:18And Jeff Bottle had some input I believe into their work as well
00:43:21Even when they were juniors, the thing that always impressed me about them was their partnership
00:43:27And just how well they skated together
00:43:33And that's going to serve them well as seniors
00:43:53And they were juniors
00:44:06For sure
00:44:06You know, senior type skaters
00:44:08But just in their carriage and their interpretation of skating there's a maturity
00:44:14And I think if they skate that program clean that is going to be a beautiful
00:44:20Maybe even a good number
00:44:21They may even get up in the top five there, we'll see
00:44:25Oh yeah, I think they're gunning for the podium
00:44:28Okay
00:44:29Speaking of podium
00:44:39This is a departure for them
00:44:41Yes
00:44:41For sure
00:44:42And it's a really good program
00:44:45They skate to this music so well
00:44:54That's a level four
00:44:56Yeah
00:45:02Look at how well they track together
00:45:05So close
00:45:06Yeah
00:45:07Little bit further on that but not bad at all
00:45:13I thought last season they were very much underscored in their side-by-sides
00:45:19I feel like the quality of flow in and out and how close they tend to be
00:45:26It was not...
00:45:31It wasn't judged right from the judges
00:45:33No, I think when they're really close the judges sort of don't reward it
00:45:37But when they're far apart they understand they're far apart and they reduce
00:45:41But they don't reward it
00:45:42Yeah
00:45:47But there's a lot to look after the judges that's for sure
00:45:50Here's the throw
00:45:51There it is
00:45:54Just pretend like they did it
00:45:55Yeah, exactly
00:45:56Pretend like they did it
00:45:57Nice landing
00:46:03And this is really good because you're right
00:46:05It's a big departure for this team
00:46:07You know
00:46:09Particularly Trent, I think
00:46:11Yes
00:46:12I see this her personality
00:46:14Oh, it is her
00:46:14Yeah, for sure
00:46:15You can just see her movement
00:46:16It was great
00:46:16I mean, I feel like this could have been something that she did when she was a junior
00:46:19Yeah
00:46:20It is totally her personality
00:46:21I think Trent's doing a good job though
00:46:23You know, he's gotta match it to a certain degree
00:46:27He's learned the body roles
00:46:28Yeah
00:46:52The variety of holds that we just saw in that sequence was also very difficult
00:46:57Yeah
00:46:58And I think Leah's expression just matches this music beautiful
00:47:02She's just got the, you know, the choreography is one thing
00:47:04But her expression on her face just brings this fun
00:47:16That's working with the music
00:47:17That works
00:47:17Yeah, that works
00:47:21This is a good vehicle
00:47:22Yeah
00:47:23Very good vehicle for this team
00:47:25But you like that pear skin with that, pear spin with that ending
00:47:28I said it worked with it
00:47:29It worked
00:47:30It worked
00:47:31It worked
00:47:36Another high energy program
00:47:39And also another departure for them
00:47:41Like they're not, they're not known for high up-tempo pop music
00:47:46And we're getting some disco
00:47:49Last Dance by Donna Summer
00:48:12Footwork
00:48:14Split
00:48:14Arms
00:48:16That's a level four
00:48:21I want you to
00:48:26The melody
00:48:30Beside me
00:48:32To guide me
00:48:34Hey
00:48:35Well, probably a little under, but done
00:48:39It's funny with hers
00:48:40There's sometimes when you look at it and you're like, that's gotta be under
00:48:44And then you watch it on replay
00:48:45And she just comes down right on the flat
00:48:48But there would be a review
00:48:49Yeah, there would definitely be a review
00:48:54So this is the part I want to see
00:48:55I want to see them light it up now
00:48:57That's like, yes, no
00:48:58Come on, let's go
00:49:01No, they gotta, they gotta light up the, the, the lift first before you do it
00:49:20The lift is done
00:49:22Yeah, okay
00:49:32Nice
00:49:41Nice
00:49:42Yeah, that transitional lift within the step sequence really helps it actually work with the music
00:49:57Yeah
00:49:58And I think as the year progresses, this will get better, I see it a little dry right now
00:50:02Yeah
00:50:03I see the choreography, they're doing it, but they're not doing it to the size and the energy that it
00:50:08needs to match this music
00:50:09They're thinking about it
00:50:10Yeah, they're thinking about it
00:50:11Instead of just letting it go
00:50:12Yeah, exactly
00:50:12They've learned the steps, they're concentrating on that, not naturally coming to the performance yet
00:50:19This is just practice though, you know
00:50:26That's nice, nice shape
00:50:28Ah, it's a spin
00:50:34Also, their transition between the two spins is much more seamless than I think a lot of the other characters
00:50:42can be
00:50:44Could be a little more dynamic
00:50:46The program, it needs to be
00:50:48Yeah
00:50:48Even in the step sequence
00:50:49But I'm sure as the year progresses, they're gonna light that thing up
00:50:52And if they do, the audience will go berserk
00:50:55So they have the potential to really light the building on fire with that program
00:50:59But this is just practice, so full energies may not be there
00:51:09And interesting because really the one program with Eva and Yanni is more, hmm
00:51:16It's quite different from the other programs, right?
00:51:18It's less energy, but still beautiful, very beautiful
00:51:26Well, it's fun, I like watching those programs like Alyssa and Misha's develop over the season
00:51:34So you get to the end and all of a sudden they're not even thinking about the steps, they're just
00:51:36happening
00:51:37I think the year Shea and Victor did Riverdance
00:51:40Yeah
00:51:41We all watched it at the beginning of the season and thought, oh, looks a bit rough
00:51:46But by the end of the season, they would nail that program and didn't even give a thought
00:51:51They just performed it
00:51:52Yeah
00:51:53And I feel like that's where this is going to go with this one too
00:51:56I think that's what will happen with this team, yeah, yeah, yeah
00:51:56Because you look at it now, you go, okay, this is a powerful piece of music
00:51:59They're not skating up
00:52:00Well, it's a practice session
00:52:01Yeah
00:52:01Number one, and number two, it's early in the season
00:52:03So certainly I think that's going to be a great vehicle for them
00:52:08Yeah
00:52:08And same thing with Leah and Trent
00:52:10I mean, that program is a strong program
00:52:14Yeah
00:52:16And she shines, and I think Trent's done a really good job
00:52:19He's not at the same level
00:52:20And here's a question for you
00:52:22Because if you have the gentleman and the woman at the same level of performance
00:52:26Like, you know, just crazy, wild performance
00:52:31Is that more distracting than having the highlight?
00:52:34Because which one do I look at here, right?
00:52:36When you see a really strong performance, the man frames the woman
00:52:40I'm not saying it's right or wrong
00:52:41I'm not making a judgement here
00:52:43But your focus can be a little bit more on one area, on one person
00:52:49Or is it more complicated?
00:52:51It's better, I would assume, to have both at the highest level
00:52:54What do you think, Jackie?
00:52:55I would much rather see both of them be as on
00:52:59And you choose which one you want to watch
00:53:02I don't know, it seems very convenient for the guy to be like
00:53:10I'm just the armature for the highlight of the program
00:53:14Which is the woman
00:53:14It's just like, that doesn't make sense to me
00:53:16Well, yesterday during dance, Mary Jade and Romo
00:53:19It was their program
00:53:20Yeah
00:53:20Like, he was the character
00:53:23And you still watched her
00:53:25But his nuances and his additions to it
00:53:28You had to watch him too
00:53:30Because it was a performance
00:53:31It was a separate performance, but it was not together
00:53:35I didn't ask the question really well
00:53:38Because skating is one, okay?
00:53:41Like, is it when both, your eyes are going back and forth
00:53:46You're not thinking of the two
00:53:47You're looking at one here, one there
00:53:49You know, it's not the team
00:53:50So when you have one person that's really the big performer
00:53:53And the other one is really framing it well
00:53:55And skating along well with them
00:53:57You might see them more as one
00:53:58As opposed to two really strong individual performers
00:54:01I know that doesn't sound right
00:54:02I'm not saying it correctly
00:54:04But I agree with the dancers
00:54:08That when he is that
00:54:11I'm drawn to him
00:54:13Then I think I'm missing her
00:54:14So I think she's not as strong as him
00:54:17And that disturbs me
00:54:19I think it ends up being the question of
00:54:25Does one partner end up stealing the spotlight?
00:54:30Yeah, yeah, yeah
00:54:30Versus if both partners are working in tandem to present the program
00:54:39Yeah, I think that's well said
00:54:40Those are different things too
00:54:41I think that's well said
00:54:42If one steals the spotlight, you know, is that distracting?
00:54:46Or if it's the man versus the woman, does it make a difference?
00:54:50Yeah
00:54:50Who steals the spotlight?
00:54:51Right
00:54:53I don't know
00:54:54Questions we will always be asking
00:54:55Yeah, probably a stupid question
00:54:56But we're running in the model
00:54:57We're running out of them
00:54:58I'm sure your fans will let you know
00:54:59Yeah, exactly
00:55:00What was that all about?
00:55:05But it would be good for the fans
00:55:06And we do this on the Junior Grand Prix, of course
00:55:08To have the fans send questions in to us
00:55:10Because we can answer directly for them
00:55:12Now, you had your function breakfast this morning with your fans
00:55:16I did
00:55:17What type of questions did they come up with?
00:55:19A lot of different things
00:55:20Really a lot of just like what happens behind the scenes
00:55:23We talked about that a lot of, you know, Danielle Earl, the photographer
00:55:28And I were hosting the coffee and pastries
00:55:32And talked a lot about just like what we do behind the scenes
00:55:37As accredited media
00:55:39And how it all works and all that
00:55:42There was a lot of questions around there
00:55:44There were some questions about music rights
00:55:46Okay
00:55:48Which I couldn't answer
00:55:49Because I was like, well, they're working on it
00:55:51Yeah
00:55:53And then, you know, there were just kind of questions around
00:55:56What we thought about was being the future of the sport
00:56:01And how do we get and maintain fans
00:56:06Especially given the momentum we had over the past quad
00:56:09Especially last year with the Olympics
00:56:11Like how do you continue to build this
00:56:16This community of fans for the sport
00:56:19And how do you keep them engaged
00:56:21And, you know, so that it's not always every four years
00:56:24That people tune in to watch
00:56:26Yeah
00:56:27And it's been interesting to see
00:56:29That there has been a good
00:56:32There has been good momentum with the fans
00:56:35Who were hooked onto the sport
00:56:37Yeah
00:56:38Last year
00:56:38And, you know, they're doing things like watching
00:56:41Challenger Series events
00:56:43And, you know, that's different than what you would have seen in the past
00:56:46So do you ask them questions in those meetings about
00:56:48Hey, what is it that you enjoy?
00:56:50I mean, you're an avid fan
00:56:51You're traveling around
00:56:52Coming here to Canada
00:56:54Yeah
00:56:54To Canada or whatever to see this
00:56:56What attracts you to this?
00:56:57Why are you doing that?
00:56:58I don't mean that in a bad way, but what drives you?
00:57:02Yeah
00:57:02I think I need to ask those questions
00:57:05I haven't had a chance to
00:57:06Yeah
00:57:06Because I think it's interesting to find out
00:57:07What do the fans love about
00:57:08So go ahead, Jamie
00:57:09Well, and we're often sitting here guessing
00:57:10What do the fans want to see?
00:57:12Yeah
00:57:12What do we need to do for the fans?
00:57:13What do we need to do to bring fans in?
00:57:15And first thing we should probably ask them
00:57:17Why are you here?
00:57:18What would you like to see?
00:57:19And it's one of the things that we do on the Junior Grand Prix
00:57:21We have done for years
00:57:22Is that fan engagement is really important
00:57:24Because we're just giving commentary
00:57:26We don't know whether they want us to talk about
00:57:29We don't know what they want us to talk about
00:57:31Unless they ask us
00:57:32So having that channel directly to the commentators
00:57:35Listen, I'm really interested in this
00:57:36I don't understand it
00:57:37Can you explain it more?
00:57:38Now we can do that on a practice session during a competition
00:57:41Right
00:57:41It's bang, bang, bang
00:57:42Yeah
00:57:42You don't really have time to do it
00:57:43Maybe a little bit on the warm-up
00:57:45But for, I think, Jackie
00:57:47As we're talking about the development of practice session coverage
00:57:51That would be the thing
00:57:52Yes
00:57:52Is open this up to the fans
00:57:54Yeah
00:57:54Who are going to watch this
00:57:55And ask the questions of
00:57:57Okay, I'm not saying experts
00:57:58But people who might be able to find out some of the answers
00:58:01Yeah
00:58:02I am opened up to my fan base for questions
00:58:05Yeah
00:58:05To be sent in to me
00:58:06But I think my daughter's working right now
00:58:08So Jenny, could you just put your work aside
00:58:10And send me some questions?
00:58:11Yeah
00:58:11Exactly
00:58:13No, I mean, fan engagement, I think, is a huge part of the sport that I think we have taken
00:58:20for granted
00:58:20Yes
00:58:20As a community
00:58:22Yeah
00:58:22Like, oh, of course they're going to come
00:58:24But, like, you've got to give them a reason to come back
00:58:28I did something on the Junior Grand Prix years ago
00:58:30When I was just doing it by myself
00:58:32And I, you know, people were sending me emails and whatnot
00:58:34Somebody sent me a picture of their cat watching
00:58:36No, their cat, honest to God
00:58:38Their cat watching the Junior Grand Prix
00:58:39You know, so they had the place
00:58:41And I said, okay, folks
00:58:42And I was laughing at this
00:58:43Okay, folks, everybody, send in your animals that are watching the Junior Grand Prix with you
00:58:49You would not believe how many emails I got
00:58:52I got one from Brazil of a snake that was on the keyboard while the Junior Grand Prix was on
00:58:59the background
00:58:59I know that's pretty weird
00:59:00But, I mean, my point is fan engagement
00:59:03Yeah
00:59:04You know?
00:59:04Absolutely
00:59:05Ask them questions
00:59:06Have a communication channel
00:59:08Yeah
00:59:08Text, email, whatever
00:59:10That they can ask the questions
00:59:12And, frankly, it's not for the federations to do it
00:59:15No, no
00:59:16It's for people who are in
00:59:18Yeah
00:59:19In this
00:59:20Who have actual platforms to be able to do that
00:59:23Yes, that's good
00:59:24Like, who wants to talk to the ISU?
00:59:26Who wants to talk to Skate Canada?
00:59:28Who wants to talk to US Figure Skating, right?
00:59:29Like, you want to talk to people
00:59:31Yeah
00:59:32You don't want to talk to an entity
00:59:34Yeah
00:59:35And I don't think you ignore
00:59:36I mean, there are people who may want to hear from Jay Wool
00:59:39I don't know
00:59:40Like you did
00:59:40Yeah
00:59:41You already did the interview with Jay Wool
00:59:43Yeah
00:59:43So, that has value
00:59:45But that doesn't necessarily have entertainment
00:59:47It has information, right?
00:59:49So, the engagement with the fans is important for, you know, for education and for entertainment as well
00:59:59All right, we can see the, we're down to pair stroking, which means
01:00:03Love the pair stroking
01:00:06Warm up is coming to an end
01:00:09And are we going to?
01:00:11And while we end this pair practice, we will be going to an interview
01:00:16Okay, good
01:00:17Ava Kemp and Yonatan
01:00:20Yanni to his friends
01:00:21Yeah
01:00:22Elezov
01:00:23And there they are on the screen
01:00:25So, let's now go
01:00:28And we'll be back with, what's coming up next?
01:00:31Women
01:00:31We got women
01:00:32Back with the women's practice
01:00:33Yeah
01:00:33Enjoy the interview
01:00:34Here we go
01:00:35And there it is
01:00:37And there we go
01:00:59Ok, I'm 한
01:01:00And there's Albert
01:01:01This concludes the session
01:01:12There will now be a brief intermission to resurface the ice. The next scheduled practice is the women's at 1
01:01:20.30.
01:01:21There will now be a short pause for the surface of the ice. The next training session will begin at
01:01:311.30.
01:02:00All right, we are now with Ava Kemp and Yonatan Eliezeroth, also known as Yanni to everybody.
01:02:08Welcome and congratulations.
