00:08Hi, I'm Michelangelo from Wonderland Beauty Parlor in New York City. I'm here with Laura
00:12to teach her how to trim her bangs. The tools that you're going to need to trim your own bangs
00:16include a comb. A comb is going to give you greatest control when you're sectioning. Haircutting
00:22scissors. Again, you want great, great control when you're doing this. And clips to section off
00:29the hair. So the first step that you're going to take is sectioning your hair. Take the side of your
00:34hair, pull it out away from your head and just comb through and let all of the shorter hairs fall
00:39out
00:40and the longer hair stay in your hand. You're going to pull them back and secure them with a clip.
00:45And repeat that step on the other side. So you're going to start with a one inch wide section. Gather
00:51it together in your fingertips and give it a little pinch. You're going to want to use this tip of
00:57your
00:57scissor to cut upward toward your finger in little points so that any unevenness is disguised. Then
01:06you're going to want to add to this middle section a half inch from each side. Bring that all together
01:14really toward the center of your nose. Cut along that and then bring the outside edges in toward that
01:23middle piece. Follow the same instructions. When you're point cutting your bang, move your scissors
01:30to different angles to get off different amounts of hair from different points. Because Laura wears
01:36her bangs PC, this is a very easy look to maintain oneself. If your bangs are very blunt or if
01:42it's a very
01:43specific and dramatic look you're wearing, please talk to your hairstylist about how they would recommend
01:48you maintain yourself in between visits. They may even offer you a complimentary bang trim to keep
01:53you up in between cuts. And then shake your hair out and see what you've got. Couldn't be easier, right?
02:05And that's it. See, it wasn't too scary and it'll save you a little bit of time in between visits.
02:18you
